I really feed sad and proud listening to this man’s testimony. He was clearly caught up in circumstances that are impossible, being separated from his parents in war at the age of 10 and having no choice but to join the NRA guerillas to survive. Unfortunately, there were many like him and some of them paid with the ultimate price (their lives). We are grateful for his life. There is no amount of money that we can give him to repay him but we are grateful for his sacrifice. I hope they find the comfort, financial well-being they so deserve in their older age.
These surviving child soldiers aka kadogo should be given a chance to write history books. The few I have been privileged to listen to, have a sharp memory. Very impressive. They would be able to get money to sustain themselves & their loved ones. Movies based on true stories should also be produced. We in diaspora would definitely support them by purchasing whatever they produce. The material will also educate/inform the next generation(s) of our history.

Ooh i feel the pain if mr Bisaso, my dad was a recruiting personel, he would recruit people from mityana and send them to lukola, one day they were caught on the way , and reported him, the soldier attacked our home, and my mum were cut with pangs, spent 2comes on mityana refereel hispital , she is now disabled , luckly my dad knew it before through his friends and fled to Rwanda through toro-mbalala, he returned after lutwa seized the power .

Am not tribalistic but all baganda kadogos were retired on the rank of sergeant between 1988 and 1992,this was to eliminate numbers of baganda in the army, even my uncle retired on rank of sergeant and was given 200k by then and 10 pieces of iron, but luckily enough he struggled for new life and he is doing well in business and he dislike museveni too
True story, I met someone doing casual work in Umeme, carrying wooden poles with a bullet scar in the forward. He told me about the same staff, Iron sheets and some little money
