There's a company in the UK called Litchfield Motors who have a great reputation for tuning Subarus & GTR's who have just announced their tuning packages for the new Supra, engine, suspension, carbon bits etc. Might be worth a look. You could overnight them from Japan.
As if he's even remotely qualified to run such a test lmfao. No comparison either way, there's a reason bags aren't widespread in motorsports. They are a compromise in order to achive certain goals that have no choice but to take away from performance at least to some extent

And I guess the reason why bags aren’t famous in racing is because of the price/maintenance and their actual purpose? This is such a hyped up car in the tuner community, so of course he won't keep it stock. This car is basicly paying for itself very fast if he just pumps out the right content. It's amazing how he can combine business with his favorite hobbies. Living the life, even though I know it's hard work.

The Supra is and always was meant as a sports cruiser. It was designed around offering both comfort and performance from the get-go. Dropping the active suspension setup means dropping half the ideals it was based upon, imo. Don’t do it, please. 😬
I'm with you on this one TJ, keep the stock struts and active dampening. It looks like you'll be able to drop the car quite a bit while still maintaining the functionality of the active dampening which is super nice for the driving experience depending on your mood and environment. Going out to dinner with Sabrina, drive in comfort. Want to hit the track or a spirited ride up the canyon, throw it in sport. The older I get, the more I appreciate amenities and the ability to choose. In the end though, it's all about your goals and what you want with the car. I'm stoked to see it's progress and where you take it.

You do NOT need to get "that low" as he stated quite yet. Keep the NEW car... NEW. And eventually if you wanna build something better, sure, go for it. But keep the stock struts for now. You don't want to lose that awesome Active Damping.

If you remove the active dampening what other features will you lose? When it comes to cars now with all of the tech a lot of it ends up tied together and it could also be a pain in the ass if it voids the warranty. Remember it’s a brand new model, there is no clue about warranty issues yet.

So for this car, I have a question. Could you use aftermarkert parts that fit on bmw and / or Toyota’s builds from previous of their cars? Ex M series or even Toyota’s infamous G86 ?
MAYBE under the hood if the z4 bay has a similar orientation. outside of that i highly doubt it. i mean you could try, but youre getting into a whole new territory of build when u start talkin about parts that were never intended for the platform. they dot make em like the s or r chassis where all kinds of parts are interchangeable.
I think what he means about taking the feature away is that when he's on bags with the different struts he wouldn't have active dampening since there would be nothing plugged into the strut controlling it. If he returned the suspension back to stock all he would have to do is plug the connector back into the strut and he would have that feature again. It wouldn't be a permanent loss of the feature, only temporary.
Stock struts for sure for v1. Or at least first see how low it will actually be. U could always go a size down in wheels or lower profile tire if you really want it lower.

Keep the stock struts. It’ll be low enough to look amazing plus retaining stock dampening will be a major bonus. Just waiting for the vid “custom widebody for the mk5”. Also if you want lower you can always replace the struts later when they’re developed- which will happen.

Idk if you ever plan on selling the mk5 but if you take that feature away you obviously reck the value a good amount.. I’d say just keep the system!
I think what he means about taking the feature away is that when he's on bags with the different struts he wouldn't have active dampening since there would be nothing plugged into the strut controlling it. If he returned the suspension back to stock all he would have to do is plug the connector back into the strut and he would have that feature again. It wouldn't be a permanent loss of the feature, only temporary.

i think theyre gonna sound pretty damn similar regardless what ya do to it. it sounds so much like kevins car already, i mean it IS the same engine. imo straight pipe doesnt sound all that great on alot of cars its just loud af, which is fine n all but it kinda gets old fast. or maybe im just getting old fast. HAHA

Keep the stock struts. It’ll be low enough to look amazing plus retaining stock dampening will be a major bonus. Just waiting for the vid “custom widebody for the mk5”. Also if you want lower you can always replace the struts later when they’re developed- which will happen.
