I believe she only judged the pink color cuz kronbae used red food coloring and not some natural stuff which could have come from ingredients...

I grew up with the cakes from the 1969 edition of the Betty Crocker cookbook, and there's a nice one in there called Silver White Cake that, as the name suggests, has no coloring--unless, like me as a kid, you're too lazy to separate out just the egg whites, in which case it's yellow. :)
