You are the first person that actually solved my glass issues with UE5 and Lumen. Thank you very much!!
You're welcome!
Perfect tutorial, straight to the point. the awesome chill music is the cherry on top
Great little tutorial. Thank you!!
Thanks a lot!
Looks great!! Does your windshield mesh have thickness? Or it’s just a single face geo panel?
No idea, just whatever comes with the Hum3D models!
ideally ones with thickness looks better but its not necessary
thank you
Thank you!
the glass color is black even though i have a skylight
hi I cant seem to translucency to work. Objects just show the checker pattern when i apply a basic material, and not translucent at all. I set the project settings as per your suggestion. Can you help pls?
I would try reinstalling the materials
I am completely new to UE5, but I had exactly the same problem. UNCHECK 'Nanite' when importing your model. Then apply your material for transparency.
Did exactly as you did, but whenever I turn on ray traced translucency all glass materials get completely blown out into an emissive mess, any ideas?
I think this technique only works well for specific glass like car windshields
@@Monoville actually I just had to refresh my skylight, seems to work pretty well now. The inner space is really badly lit though, will have to see if it’s mostly a material settings issue
@Levente Dankó ah yeah I've had issues with skylights before. Also I always set exposure to manual in post processing and set it around 10 or 11, have too many issues with auto exposure
@@Monoville Right. Well overall thanks for the great advice, looks great now from the outside. From the inside not so much, I guess I’ll just go with lumen there for now.
Does those settings affect Pathtracing too?
