    Frédéric François Chopin (March 1, 1810 - October 17, 1849) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the Romantic period who wrote primarily for solo piano. He has maintained worldwide renown as a leading musician of his era, one whose poetic genius was based on a professional technique that was without equal in his generation.
    Garrick Olof Ohlsson (April 3, 1948 - ) is an American classical pianist. He is the only American to win first prize in the VIII International Chopin Piano Competition, in 1970, for which he played for in this recording. He also won first prize at the Busoni Competition in Italy and the Montreal Piano Competition in Canada.
    Dame Mitsuko Uchida, DBE is a classical pianist and conductor, born in Japan and naturalised in Britain, particularly noted for her interpretations of Mozart and Schubert. Uchida plays the Chopin: Etude in A minor Op. 10 No.2 for the 1970 VIII International Chopin Piano Competition winning the second place prize.
