What a marvelous interpreter of Bach! Bravimissima!
Nice he didnt hum to this one 😂
Why is he in a hurry to go to the bathhouse naked?
Clavecin. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🥇

I've not been convinced by Gould's daring and radical interpretations of other Beethoven sonatas, but he absolutely nails this one. One of the performances of Sonata no. 8 I've heard.
Obviously, the recording quality suffers, but it doesn't hide the spectacular playing. Thank you.
The second movement sounds like a metronome, is strident and lacks poetry. Why does he play the accompaninent as loud as the melody?
Amazing. Every melody and countermelody weaving nicely. Harder than it looks. Well donr
el clave suena muy pesado
"Immenso Bach! Immenso Richter!" ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 Giuseppe Perego Monza 16.2.1962 Grazie
Rosalyn was my piano teacher's teacher. So in some way I am her student by association. It makes me wish I were a greater musician, being in the shadow of such a great artist!
She reminds me so much of my Polish Grandmother-- she made candies-chocolates to keep the family solvent in the depression. She was FUCKING AWESOME. i remember so little of grandma (Mary) Sandow... but this lady sounds like her. How i wish i could go back 55 years. And just learn from that grandmother. \I'd love to sit under Landowska's Pleyel, head pressed against the frame-- absorbing the sounds pressed against my head. ================ God love this angel, this muse, this inspiration.
F A B U L O U S
She was such an amazing musician !!
For reference, during Bach's time the tuning of the keyboard would have been half step lower than this.
I'm a great fan of her's. Yet, I'm not convinced her interpretation of the tempo of every Bach piece is correct.
Great lady was forced out of Europe by Nazis and fled to America and was world famous and aren’t we fortunate to have had her and her musicianship?
She makes any keyboard come to life !
Marvellous and talented , ✨ Wanda Landowska. ✨ Thanks to whoever posted this video.
The entire sonata exists. Perhaps you could post it?
Exquisite interpretation. The second movement is especially lovely.
He changed the tempo from bpm=85 to bpm=82 during the first movement (compare the beginning with the reprise) - that is strange
Extraordinaria e histórica interpretación.!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This album was originally called "Homage to Paderewski" - a little more commercial.
Indeed it was! I'm fortunate enough to now have both albums, but the 1965 pressing is definetly more common.
Ohhhh shiiiiiiiit! Unbelievable!
INTERESANTISIMO!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
extraordinaria interpretacion y prodigiosa pianista.
Just discovered this interesting woman's work.
She was an amazing and inspiring artist. If you ever get the chance, there is a documentary on her titled "Uncommon Visionary," it's very interesting.
prodigiosa comprension de un autor y de su epoca. ADMIRABLE.
No one mentions that this was produced by CBS from a time when commercial television still occasionally aired decent programs. The Kennedy FCC Chairman Newton Minow at the time of this broadcast referred to American commercial television programming as a "vast wasteland" and advocated for programming in the the public interest. It is sad to see the depth to which broadcast television has descended since then.
Wanda played either piano or harpsichord like no one has ever done since! She brought both to life!
WHAT a treasure what a gift to the whole of man and womanking. RIP WANDA. you are still loved in 2023
Colosal talento!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Soberbia pianista mozartiana.Increible calidad de sonido.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of the great ladies of the 20th century.
Notice how he plays this work in 11:34 minutes while others especially on my instrument, the Spanish Guitar, take 25 minutes to play it ! He omitted unessential repeats and employed "attacca" to connet the whole work . Something instrumentalist - Soloists need to learn or fall victim to mediocrity ..
Astonishing!
Con que micrófono se grabo para obtener ese sonido vintage?
34:20
The English subtitles are a bit hit and miss. They don't pick up "Yasnaya Polyana," the name of Tolstoy's estate, or the Russian word "muzhik."
I can't believe we have this . Her in the op.110 ! Didn't know this existed . the Bach-D'Albertor is it BusoniBWV564 seems to be important to many pianists.

thank you v.m. for posting this one, sir!
Of course! Your welcome! 😁
In case anyone is curious, this recording was released in 1975; I had to look it up by the catalog number.
Thank you! 😄
Pianiste extraordinaire de virtuosité et de sensibilité.
There is organ music and then there is the French.....and then there is Cesar Franck! "Nuff said???
This was made in conjunction with an RCA album of two LP's Landowska made of Mozart piano music.
Es ist Gould... Was für eine verwegene Interpretation des 2. Satzes, wird vielen nicht behagen.
For some reason the full half-hour Wisdom show is not on y/t but it's at the Paley Center and it's terrific.
