Loved the fighting Moose image, cracking. Hope you’re well?
Great video Steve. People don't realize how challenging that long walk through the sage brush flat is. Lots of ankle grabbing. Lol
Treacherous for sure 😂
Wow! Love these moose shots.
Really like the B&W.
Great video Steve. I always enjoy watching. Thanks. Oh and family and work are important. No need to apologize.
Thanks 👍
Beautiful Steve
Hi Steve ! Great , great video !!!
Hey, thanks!
Beautiful photos, Steve, wow. I'm not surprised at all - I'm impressed :) Merry Christmas!
Thanks, you too!
You really are a master at this Steve. Last year for Christmas my wife got me a signed copy of your "Phantom of the North" books. I was looking over it again today marveling at your skills (timing, knowledge of the creature, photographic skills, and artistic nature). Truly, a beautiful work.
The bull's in the snow look amazing... Thanks for putting out content!
Thank you very much 🙏
As always, Awesome Steve!!
Thanks again!
Thank you! Enjoyed watching and seeing your amazing photos of the moose.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice mission and well accomplished, Steve! I really like how you captured, above all, the great harmony of wildlife. How your photos showing the snow, moose and all the bushes and grasses all come together to make life possible.
Thanks for taking me along, great images
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Steve !!! Merry Christmas to you, Stephany and the Kids..:)
Same to you!
Always, Always enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Merry Christmas.

Thanks Vaughn👍
Always great to see you out doing your thing Steve..!
Thanks 👍
Absolutely stunning! You are a master of your craft! Thanks for taking me along!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you for the vlog! Merry Christmas to your family.
Same to you!
Fun shots, I only we wish we had some snow when we were there couple of weeks ago. Fun finding and chatting with you at the sheep location. Maybe if we make it up in January we can find the ever hiding fox. Praying for more snow.
Nice pictures of the moose. I'm hoping to spend a little more time over there next year. I'm in southeast Idaho we are getting a little snow today. Might go out and see what I can find. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks!
Thanks again Steve, Merry Christmas!
Same to you!
Cool!!
Wow, fantastic photos and video! Thank you!
Thank you too!
Great shots (as always)! Are you sure you weren't shooting film! Beautiful. Merry Christmas, sir. Looking forward to more of your art in 2024!
Thanks!
You missed the oppotunity to slip a picture of Moose Peterson in there...Great shots Steve, thanks for the beautiful vlog.
A few days ago I got a tip and went up to this same area. Saw a couple but didn't see the group I had heard about.(That you obviously found.) But I still had an awesome time, as I do always. Thanks for posting this. I had started to think the tip I had gotten was just a practical joke.
As always, it's great to see you back, Steve. Very much enjoy your page, and I usually check for new content every couple days. Thanks for another awesome vlog.
Thank you for your time working on these!
Glad you like them!
Great stuff, Steve! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
@@SteveMattheis Merry Christmas!
9:08 ish, very nice. Thank you! Happy Holidays!
Happy holidays!
Super video Steve, glad to see you back. I love the black and white images of the Moose. Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
Thanks! You too👍
Snow flurries here are few and moose sighting rare so either I'm going to have to sign up for one of your workshops or move from the gulf coast. As always, I'm glad you take the time to make these videos and take us along on your sojourns. Much thanks.
Definitely take a workshop or something. When I am in grand Teton I regularly see Steve out there putting his folks in great positions for shots. My first few trips to GTNP were insanely terrible because I didn’t know anything. Looking back, I think it would be worth it to do a workshop to learn the locations.
Thanks for watching 👍
🙏
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Same to you!
Great video Steve! Thanks for sharing your photo adventures. Really enjoyed the video!
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Excellent!
Many thanks!
Very much enjoyed this - it was like re-living my workshop with you earlier this month! (So glad we got to see Hoback before he dropped his impressive paddle!)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good to see you out there and take us along with you.
Glad you enjoyed
Great to see a vlog today. You made my Saturday as I’m battling a cold. Interesting take on the edits color grading wise. Thanks for sharing another amazing excursion. I’m from TN and hope to make it your way one day. Take Care
Glad you enjoyed it
Cheers and Happy Holidays Steve. Hope 2024 brings you many magical photo opportunities!
I always wonder where all of the moose hide out during tourist season.
Thanks Tim!
Another great video Steve. Spent 10 days at Tetons hoping to get a moose shot. The only one I saw was roaming through the camp grounds at 4:00 when I was heading out. Spent hours sitting at ( what I thought ) was the perfect place. Nothin. Ugh.
They can be sneaky for sure...
Your hard work paid off, great images. From experience about 7 or 8 years agoI was there I believe in November and the snow was about 18 inches deep. Making my way through the sagebrush was very difficult as the tops of most were covered by snow. But in the end it was worth it. Your having to "Walk a Mile" for your Moose's was also worth. Here in Alberta we really haven't had much of a winter yet. Temp between +8 and -9 C. Stay safe and best of the season to all.
Thanks for watching👍
As usual, thanks for the video, nice to see you and your work again. Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
Same to you!
I'm glad you followed your intuition and abandoned the computer. There were so many beautiful images.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great to see a vlog Steve! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!
Same to you!
Steve, thanks for taking the time to share your photography experience with us. There's lots of inspiration within your posts. Looking forward to seeing the next one. In the meantime, Merry Christmas.
Thanks, you too!
The cows fighting was worth the trip out there!
True
Great work as usual Steve, lovely set of images. Happy Christmas to you and your family 👍🏻
Same to you!
Great video Steve! I've always wondered what camera you use for vlogging on the hot shoe of your super Tele. Thanks, from Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦
Sweet set up - cooperative moose, gorgeous scenery + the gumption to get out there and make it happen! What is the name of the bush? Some sort of scrub brush. Looks interesting and I'm curious on what they're eating.
I also love the b&w versions. It's a great idea for when light is low and you've lost some colour, but still have details. It's a great example for other photographers to remember that it's not necessarily time to quit when the light is going. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Mostly Sage brush and bitter brush
Great footoge Steeve. I wonder which model of monopod head is this, connected from side and you took of the lens shoe. It looks pretty flexible and lighter. I think I need to use a similar idea. Thanks for the great video footage Steeve. Merry Christmass and happy new year.

Thanks for sharing your photography experiences Steve, top notch as usual. Merry Christmas to you and yours. By the way, how did the "VANS" do in the snow, inquiring minds want to know.....
I went for the Sorels on this one...
Where did you take photography? It is so nice photography. I am always enjoying your contents. I hope taking photography like you one day. thanks
This is in Wyoming👍
I've always been a bit afraid of moose since they can be pretty aggressive, any tips on how to stay safe out there even when a moose is closing the distance between you two?
Find moose that are used to seeing people... and give them plenty of space...
