Well done Randall. What a beaut.
I believe I've been for a ride in that car, back in the day!
still believe the hardtop is so mach better looking than the roadster.
The coupe was dearer than the drophead when new
@@mrjohncharlesbrown and now, it's the convertibles that are more expensive.
I use to own 855130, a 1961 E-Type Coupe....... loved it. Your car is beautiful.......
Sorry that that's in the past tense Bryant.
Interesting that one of the two E-types was apparently a clone of the original at some point….(?) 🤔
Not in this case, there's a Nissan with the same chassis number as this E-type. There was a range of Nissan numbers in the 80's which were the same as 3.8 S1 E-types from the 60's!
@@Allrand319 Oh dear! ( I guess it’s too much to expect the data bank operators to put either a J or an N in front of the numbers, far too simple probably! ) 🤣😂 kind regards.
So will this car officials be a 2022 model ??
no, it is registered in 2022 as a 1964 model.
40 year old restoration ??? It’s still sounds like a tractor. What’s wrong with it now. What have you actually done to restore it.
Well Russ, besides being slightly tappety, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and she sounds just like she should but then maybe you're not familiar with series one E-Types. The original moss gearbox (if you know what that is) is still installed which creates that whine sound, as they did when new due to not having any synchromesh on first. Watch this slideshow of the full restoration to see how little was done to the car over the last 40 years. studio.ruclips.net/user/video7LTYuqUCtSE/edit
My God man, look at the restoration slideshow.

1st gear is a straight cut gear not a helical cut gear.
The value is in the originality. Particularly the Mk1 cars as these are the most sought after. This car is worth a fortune. 🇬🇧
