This national anthem was from Edwards AFB, where all these planes were based at the time of production. It's not really 'flexing our muscles' to the men and women who work on these projects- it's a matter of pride in the work that they do. Food for thought.
I know you're not trying to insult anyone- it's just funny to me... the lady that gave me the video was a 50+ year old civilian grandma who works in Public Affairs. She was just proud of the base that she worked at and all that it has accomplished. I've seen the videos you're talking about, as a military brat they played them before all the movies on base. I think it's still more a matter of pride for the airmen of the USAF than a show of force but I see how it can be misconstrued by others.

Hey buddy, I got my degree in Mechanical Engineering thanks to Obama. He halted my house from getting Foreclosed so I could focus on schooling. Today I work for the DoD, giving the troops the protection and firepower they deserve.
While I do feel we flex our muscles to patriotic music, we do it far less than certain other entities, say, China or Russia. My European roommate put out a good point... while the USA and Russia both seek global dominance (not necessarily sovereignty, just influence) the US does so through popular trends and culture, while Russia does through political subversion and military force. The US uses military force where culture trends do not take root. I mean no disrespect to any nation mentioned.
Oh yeah, and with my money (and the recovering economy to get me a loan, thanks to Obama) I bought my self a house and a truck. Now I just need a family to raise and I've got the American dream.
just because we have a big debt does'nt make us poor , we rank in the top 7 wealthiest nation,s and as far as i remember SIERA LEON, is the poorest country, our defence budget, makes every one els'es look like pocket chang.do you think the poorest country in the world would be able to fund the most well equip'ed ARMY in the world?

My taxes are now at 24.9 percent (single, no dependents) and I didn't even make $30,000 last year! So much for "only people making over $100,000 will have a tax increase"!!! So your house wasn't foreclosed, what sacrifice did YOU MAKE to have YOUR AMERICAN DREAM??
