    I bought a brand new Wildax Europa just over two years ago it was my first motor home but I sold it within a year because all the materials inside were cheap. The catches were fragile the mechanisms for the drawers were the same, and even the bed supports broke on my first day.
    My next motorhome was a second-hand German Hymer but it is completely the opposite total quality and comfortable.

    With home builds looking stunning nowadays i think manufacturers need to step it up! See how stiff them 90's rollers were.. personally for 82k I'd expect some more premium materials and innovation.

    Can't believe these things still sell Nick. It's basically a 90s caravan interior thrown into a delivery van..... For 82 grand!

    Thanks for the tour Nick but as with all camper vans it’s seems, far too much money for very little practicality and living space.

    • @robertcook2572
      @robertcook2572 5 месяцев назад +6

      If only Wildax had sought your opinion first. They could have saved themselves the time, effort and money of building this for a market which, according to you, doesn't exist. The same goes for all the other makers of campervans, which sell in their tens of thousands. Gosh, the sad delusions of all those people who buy them, eh?

    • @chickenlegs5219

      Touch a nerve did I?
      Very sorry for saying that in my opinion they’re too much money for little return.
      I hope you have a nice day, I will try not to ruin it by making any further innocent comments about my thoughts of a campervan and its price.

      I’m always intrigued by manufacturers assuming every potential owner needs a full sized oven when a hob and microwave is sufficient for most. Personally I’d rather have a washing machine or at least the choice, it’s something I see lacking throughout the industry.

      @@chickenlegs5219 How would you fit more living space inside a van while keeping the price down and the weight under 3.5 tonne ?

  • @Munch10
    @Munch10 5 месяцев назад +2

    I much prefer the European style campers with the fixed beds giving storage underneath for things like awning, paddle boards, ramps, chairs, outside table etc! In reality you need this stuff out of the way when going away and in most cases the two front seats swivelling round and tv, kitchen location gives a really comfy lounge area, not really making a rear lounge a necessity especially with the big sliding door and fly screen for evening and awning access. That’s my thoughts anyway!

    I was all set to purchase a new Wildax Solaris as my mate has one, he was experiencing a cold spot in the van around the sliding door area and couldn't understand it.......until he had to take the door card off the inside of the slider to repair the lock and discovered zero insulation! The response he got from the dealer was not at all helpful so he contacted Wildax direct and faired little better. so after insulating the door himself his attention turned to the rear doors, and the piddling little bit of insulation fitted to those put me off from placing an order for the then £87k van......

    It's lovely and it also has a decent kitchen with room for food preparation and a microwave as well as an oven. I can't work out whether the shower door goes all the way around and stops the whole bathroom from getting wet, or if it is a 'wet-bathroom' (which I loathe). Which one is it? It is very nice though, even if you do have to wipe down the entire bathroom after showering.

  • @markomarten
    @markomarten 5 месяцев назад +1

    I think this is a mixed blessing, the size means you can drive it on a normal license. The only drawback is that it’s a compromise with a few things like only taking 3 people. I do think having the microwave oven and grill is a bit unnecessary as you could get a combination microwave and the space freed up with that could be used for extra storage, which is a bit limited on a vehicle like this. Handy for getting out and about as it were.

    • @daletinsley2954
      @daletinsley2954 5 месяцев назад

      Diesel electric for heating and hot water is the way forward. Just have gas for cooking. The new bailey endeavour is the right way to go. Fuel stations supplying LPG are on the way out in favour of much more profitable EV charging points. The dealership sales staff won't tell you this though. When will elddis stop doing the CV range with underslung tanks !!

    3500kgs is the gross weight of the vehicle I assume. The trouble is once your bits and bobs are added (including driver weight and fresh water storage) then the vehicle could be edging towards 3800 to 4000kgs thus requiring a C1 license!

      It has copyrighted music which normally is okay, it just means that any advertising revenue goes to the copyright holder (fair enough). However in this instance, they've just blocked the whole video. It's an old one from years ago that I found on an old drive, so not much I can do about changing the soundtrack, sadly.

      @@MOTAHOLIC Not a particular professional response to a genuine question about the configuration of the van. I looked at the U.K.’s largest car selling site and struggled to find any vans with three seats so its obviously its an unpopular and strange configuration. Plenty with just two many more with 4/5. I can’t think of any situation where someone would require three seats. As an estate agent for over 37 years I have made enough money to be able to retire in my mid 50s because I treated my customers with respect. Obviously your response shows why you’re still working at your age and I would be more than happy to give you the benefit of my experience and teach you how to deal with comments in a respectful and professional way. That lesson is for free, for anything else there will be a small charge.

      @@MOTAHOLIC You must’ve have been the luckiest broker in the world or inherited a lot of money from rich parents if your responses is to double down on your original post. Firstly, the analogy doesn’t work reference a two bedroom and three bedroom house. Secondly the correct response would’ve been ‘yes it isn’t a usual layout but that configuration does suit older couples who maybe don’t have kids and want more than two seats’. There you go 2 more free bits of advice, this is your lucky day.
