Where does 'term' come from in request.GET.get('term')? Shouldn't there be 'q', since the name of your input filed is 'q'?

See 7.36 minutes, Jquery autocomplete sends a request to the url as www.example.com?term=our-search-query, to so we extract "term" from request.
