But he was not sure if he like to marry her and she was in love with her husband Andrew she had sex with Charles to revenge Andrew for having an affair with Ann. From revenge sex to queen Not bad
Camilla: I had an affair with Charles while he was married to his first wife; then they got divorced then I became his wife and eventually his Queen. Anne Boleyn: How original…
I feel like people would've accepted Camilla and Charles's relationship a lot faster had he been kind and good to Diana, it wont help you image and people wont accept your new lover if all they hear about you is how horrible you were to your wife and mother of your children
@@thesun4608 didn’t Camilla’s husband go on hunting trips so Charles could smash Cam Cam? What you said about acceptance is very very disgusting, let’s not live in utopia and be realists, because the dude spend 24 to life in prison wouldn’t have gone to prison if their weren’t any cctv cameras
He should've divorce Diana first before started having relation ship with Camilla. The problem is, he wanted both of them, Diana as wife on paper and for public image, then Camilla as mistress. Just like some Kings and nobleman in old days. It didn't work well. Same thing to Camilla, she should've divorce her husband first and waiting Charles to legally divorce Diana. This is what happened if you feel you are above the law. People always keep an eye at their action because these monarch and nobles consider as leaders or symbol of the country. Adultery and betrayals, that's not what people want to see from someones who representing them.
It is incredibly sad how lonely and frustrating Charles' childhood was. It is certainly frustrating when you cannot be with the person you love either. But it was no excuse to treat Diana so coldly. To my knowledge, he did nothing to defend her from the press and the pressure from the royal institution. No matter how rough Charles' life was, Diana ended up getting the short end of the stick. That is why I think it is commendable that Harry has been so supportive of his wife, no matter what. He literally said that he could see history repeating itself with how the press was treating Meghan. It is a shame that he and William are feuding, but I am glad he is taking care of his wife and the family he has with her.
Agreed that Diana was hunted down by paparazzi among all the other issues! But after listening to first half of spare I realized that Harry has lots of problems because of the way he was brought up! I do hope for the best in the next generation!!!
Same with Catherine. I forget how far back they can trace their family but it's hundreds of years, they're distantly related to the royal family, and they're worth millions, but yet they're commoners.
@@pksracing she was still a commoner though, as her father has no title. I can trace my ancestors back to the time of the tudor dynasty, I have ancestors who were baronets and ancestors who were farmers. You probably do too! We have thousands/millions of ancestors from all walks of life
It is going to take a long time for the words King Charles to sink into my head. Queen Elizabeth has been an immutable fact of the universe for 20 year before I was born, and I am nearly 50.
12:20 A British official who saw Charles in the hospital when he learned of Diana’s death said, “He uttered a cry of pain and came from the heart, before breaking into uncontrollable sobs.” Their marriage may have not worked out and Charles wasn't a great husband by any means, but as Diana herself once said, “I loved Charles, and he loved me - very, very much. To say that he didn't is wrong, totally wrong.”
The only reason Charles married Diana was , so he can get heirs to the throne , everyone knows that he didn’t love her , even though she tried hard to love him 😢his heart was with Camilla, such a sad ending for Diana 😰😰
His mother is to blame for that. The queen made him leave and pressured Camila into marrying someone else. If only she had let Charles marry the person he loved from the beginning.
@@zairagutierrez7538 Well actually Camilla's Father put an announcement in the paper announcing their engagement because her father and Parker-Bowles were business partners. So no way out for poor Camilla. Pretty rotten thing to do.
I had no idea he knew Camilla all this time. I still don't love him as king, but I can't help but feel bad for him. He clearly never should have married Diana in the first place
Yeah, I've always had a soft spot for Charles and don't always understand the vitriol. I admire Diana greatly, but their marriage should never have been forced for either of them. It is clear Charles didn't get to marry the woman he loved in the first place. The way he grieved and supported his children after Diana's death cemented him in my eyes as a misaligned character. I'm not British and this doesn't effect me at all, but I think he will be a good king and I hope he makes the most of the position. Wish them well.
I just can’t see Camilla without thinking the horror she was responsible for putting Diana through. To give her a title even garbage collector is hurtful to Diana’s memory
@@stephiixoxo4512 She learn from Charles that's not an excuse but the truth. She was a virgin when she met dick head Charles. But we don't know what really happen with Diana and that man. Basically everything we read or hear about is not always the truth. But we know for a fact Charles was sleeping around on Diana. That is so dirty. This is my opinion and I don't need you to reply back.
@@BlueSky-qo8rm and that's fine, but stop setting her up in opposition to Queen Camilla. It's completely pointless - and tedious. One is alive, the other is dead. One became Queen, the other did not. How about living in the real world, instead of fantasising about someone who's been dead for a quarter of a century?
@@BlueSky-qo8rm yes. It’s pretty clear right here Camilla has her Fans. I’m here to say I understand your point. I was a Diana fan and read the books. Loved her! There are people who enjoy being contrary and making you feel bad. It’s ok. Your fine. There are plenty of us too.
It's incredble how Diana's life in his own life is bigger than anything else. It's also a shaem that she died because of paparazzi, those things should be illegal.
She wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Autopsy reported that she would have survived if she had been wearing one. Might as well blame cars, alcohol (the driver had been drinking) and the pillar of the tunnel he crashed into while speeding at over twice the speed limit.
Really though? Remember that the cctv recordings in that tunnel was "mysteriously lost" and that the ambulance went past the nearest hospital. Diana's diary also wrote that someone was going to assassinate her via car crash a few days prior to her "accident".
@@ninamartin1084 They might not have been going so fast if it weren't for the paparazzi though. But you have a point. Diana's death was the tragic result of a number of things gone horribly wrong.
This lady actually took the time to research facts, well paced, informative and too the point! By far the best video that I have seen in recent days ! WELL DONE!!
Maybe but she got two major factswrong. 1. Elizabeth was 25 when her father died and she became Queen, not 21. 2. Camilla is not Queen and never will be Queen. She is the King's wife which makes her Queen Consort. NOT the same as being Queen.
This must have been an incredible video to make since it is history happening before our eyes! I saw the wedding of Charles and Diana on TV. When I got married, my veil and train were also extravagantly long!
I despise Camilla and honestly believe it’s disgraceful that she is being given the title Queen Camilla/Queen Consort. Have we forgotten the sordid affair this woman had with Charles throughout Princess Diana’s life? In my mind, Edward abdicated because he was not permitted to marry a divorcee and become our King. Prince Charles is no different, marry the horse and he should forfeit the position of King.
I agree with you 1000%! I do object, however, to calling that a horse, unless you meant the south end of a northbound animal.. Otherwise, its an insult to a magnificent creature.
if he got what he wanted and still became king, Margaret and Edward should've also got what they wanted. queen Elizabeth can't stop herself from tampering with people's lives
Honestly the way how Diana raised their children seemed well, it's likely why Prince William seems like a good dad since he took it from Diana, I wish the best for all of them and that it will be peaceful. (Y'all Harry is a great dad and a loving person also, forgot he had a child 😭😭)
To be fair, even Diana herself said that Charles was a great father. So, hopefully that’s true and they’ve had some semblance of parental guidance+love since the passing of their mother. Very excited to see all that the Prince+Princess of Wales do going forward. Prayers from your cousins across the pond. ✌️❤️🇺🇸🇬🇧
I have always loved English/British history. I know more of their history than US history. (That's not good coming from a person with a BA in history. Lol)
While I'm not a fan of either of "them", your video is, as always, on target! My feelings on them are irrelevant, I'm not English and don't actually have to live under their rule. Thank you Lindsay, for another great video!
The title of the video is way off. And no one in the UK lives under the monarch's rule. The Magna Carta (which UK, US and some other countries laws are based on) ensured the monarch was separated from the populace, by way of democratic government. Hence the term 'Constitutional Monarchy'.
Camilla was supposed to be the official one. The Royal family didn’t accept her and married Charles to someone else. Without the Royal intervention, Camilla would have been Queen anyways
She didn't care he was married. She asked to be the home wrecker and he said yes. So much for people, duty and country first. Nope... his dingaling and that price of beef jerky come first for him. Simple... and he got rid of Diana and Harry.
The British have a bad habit of placing the crimes of the ancestors on the heads of the descendants. In the same breath, they praise a person for their ancestors achievements despite them having no achievements of their own.
YEP. THAT is where her family got their money. Apparently the King at the time was VERY generous to her. If not for that Cowmilla would be living in a council flat, WHERE SHE BELONGS.
Diana was everything every woman dreams. Incredibly beautiful, wealthy, loved by the world. A princess! Yet she lived in constant agony. He never loved her! It proves, beauty, money, fame will never make you happy…. Only Love can make you happy.
@@juliaforsyth8332 his title had nothing to do with it. She loved him! She was 19 and wanted to marry her prince. He was sleeping with Camilla the minute they returned from the honeymoon.
Also she was the true advocate for animals, she seemed to dislike hunting while Camilla and Charles love it Fox hunting even the most cruel sport there is
Camilla's father and Andrew Parker-Bowles's brother were business partners, so it was very awkward when Andrew was reluctant to commit. Finally, Camilla's father took matters into his own hands and sent an engagement announcement to the Times. Once it was published, Andrew was pretty much forced into proposing to Camilla. Who knows what might have happened if there hadn't been so much family interference on all sides?
Sstephens, true. However, does not give Diana in any way any excuse whatsoever to go off and sleep with at least two or three MARRIED men. Typical hypocrisy seen in those who are literally worshiping another human. Its called cognitive dissonance. May want to look it up if interested. Had someone explained this to me all those years ago it would have saved me from carrying around genuine hate for people that I do not personally know or indeed they do not even know that I am alive. Not seeing that real humans are involved and nobody is perfect. Not even the lovely Princess Diana. Took me years to see that C and C were two people who loved each other deeply who were torn apart by others. Finally, I saw this babe in the woods act that poor Diana put on was indeed that. Just an act. In fact she knew well before the marriage that he was deeply in love with another. She made the fateful decision herself. Please stop treating her like some extra simple dumb blonde. It does her and everyone involved a disservice, including yourself. Oh well good luck whatsoever way you choose to see this situation. Stay safe.

“Traveling to the medieval world” , but yet, (putting the misbehavior of the way they treated Diana, aside), in a civilized manner, without the barbaric behaviors of the past. For example, no beheadings and imprisonment of relatives for the mere threat of being overthrown, etc.,are being done now, ( which is nice that that behavior disappeared), but yet, we get all the wonderful pomp and circumstances! Makes it kind of magical now, to us Americans.
It's odd to think that in my 31 years both the queen and Betty white lived it with me. And now they're not here. How sad when people die. A light extinct now and forever. May they rest in peace 🕊️🕊️

Charles mistake was marrying someone just for the sake of it. When you spend your time reading rather then spending your time with the person you just married there’s an issue there.
@@ineffablemars He had the choice to walk away but chose the crown over Camilla. He used Diana as a justification for marrying Camilla now because he "did his duty" by marrying Diana and having heirs back then. He could've tried to make things work with Diana but allowed Camilla into their marriage and refused to give Diana a real chance. His ego also couldn't tolerate Diana being more popular. Heck, he even had her pose differently so it would appear as if she was shorter than him in several photos where he had a say. Camilla doesn't have the likeability factor with the public like Diana so Charles doesn't have any shadows he's residing in. Like Kate, both women stayed hovering waiting to be married to men who aren't that great as they present to the public.

I've never met her, nor do I live in the UK. Yet, I feel such an incredible sense of loss at her passing. She lived a long and good life, doing many good works. She was the definition of honour and dignity. She has more than earned her rest. May her memory never fade.
She was also the head of an incredibly racist and colonialist institution. I get history is interesting (I’m fascinated by it myself) but I definitely think we gotta have a critical outlook and not idealize royalty.
She was the only authentic person amongst crowds of hypocrites, the one who did honest things. She was used as a chess piece in the gsme of the crown. She married cause she was in love, she had children who were her sons, not future kings, she took good care if them, wanted them to grow as common citizens and so much to say...
When I was about 4 or 5 I got an odd looking nickel that had a beaver and an unknown woman on it. I asked my Dad about it and got a micro tutoring on Britain and the commonwealth, and royals. That was my introduction to Queen Elizabeth!
Discussing that Camilla is Queen Consort. She deserves nothing. Praying the rein is short, as William should be KING, with a true deserving woman, as QUEEN, KATE.
...and inaccurately summarised much of it. Describing someone who played polo for decades as not sharing in the Queens enjoyment of horse -riding, is pretty laughable. Polo is intense and not for the faint hearted, those polo ponies can be very highly strung and you need skill to ride them, let alone play that game. Charlie is an accomplished horse rider.
I am still amazed at how the British public reacted to the fact that the Queen kept herself and her 2 grandsons out of the limelight for a week....I had always understood it was more important for her to try to protect those young boys from as much media as possible..I salute her for her choice...and still those 2 children walked along with their mother while still in so much pain..I think sometimes the British media and the country need to know when to step back and just be respectful
You know why? The entire world was shocked beyond belief. It wouldn't have been too much strain to send out a simple press release saying something, anything really. She said absolutely nothing for over a week? BS.
@@SlpBeauty333 there was a brief Statment when Diana died. it was as the grief in London built up that the press began to scream for the queen to do more.
@@glen7318 It's not the press but more the people in general, they would have had her head at some point and she knew it was comming for her and the monarchy! That's what happened. If not for the people she wouldn't have spoken or done a royal funeral. She was just scared that would end her.
The reason the Queen took so long to make a statement about Diana's death was because she was in the country with Charles, William, and Harry. People and media took offence without thinking that perhaps she may have been comforting her grandsons who lost their mother. She had to leave them to go to London to make a statement.
Absolutely! I think that many people were demanding a statement in their grief, but seeming to think that they were more important than the private grief that the queen was helping her grandsons come to terms with with.
Thank you for saying this. I just made a comment also. There is a lot of misinformation in her videos. She has been own narrative she sticks too. There is correct info out there.
I feel for Charles.. I relate to him a little bit especially with how he was as a child. He probably would have led a happier life if he could have just been a normal kid.
Thank you, your videos are.always very informative! Just one thing: the Lady Arbella Stuart actually had a stronger claim to the throne after Elizabeth I than her cousin James. It has always seemed to me so cruel to make the royal family have to do soooooo much on the literal moment of death of the monarch! They seem to have no time at all to even mourn the loss of they're matriarch! I know when my daddy died they could barely keep me from collapsing for days. I know they have such a sense of duty, and they know their role from a young age, but at the same time, they are human just like all of us!! I can see it in their faces that they're very saddened by the Queen's passing. Although they did have ample time to know that it was coming! I guess if you know from birth that your role and only duty in life is the monarchy you could get use to it! I just feel so badly for them. I know their hearts are aching! I wish they'd at least give them 48hrs to mourn in privacy before making them have to be in front of cameras for all the world to see! I'm sending love and prayers of strength and courage for the Royal family! From what I saw yesterday, of King Charles' arrival at Buckingham palace, he seems like he's going to be just fine!! We will miss the Queen dearly, but I think she would truly wish for us to all stand behind her son, and give him his fair chance to rule! The double rainbow that appeared wasn't for nothing imo! I think it was Her Majesty's way of shining down on is one last time with hope for the future. To me it was a sign of great things to come!! May she finally after all these years, rest with her beloved family who went before her! I'm sure she would want us all to give 3 cheers, and say, God save the King!!!! 🌈❤️🙏
I like to think that the royals do get some private time, maybe just before bed, and that's when they can allow themselves to cry, snuggle teddy bears, or whatever they need to do to grieve. I really hope I'm right. :) Because yeah, being such a public figure does make it tough to get through difficult times like this. I may not be British, but I still wish King Charles all the best in this time of transition and throughout his reign.
The rainbow was not for the Queen it was a sign from Yahuah who folks call God . That destruction is coming. Much blood has been spilled . The History folks seem to forget . Its sad when anyone passes ,we all have a appointed time . She lived a lavish wonderful life . And 96 is a great age we do not live forever , unless we are born again and walking the narrow path that scripture.
Dennis Coleman, while I agree with you in ways, others I do not. God did not use the rainbow to signify warning of death and destruction, it was in fact the opposite. That was His promise to never destroy the Earth with a flood again. It was a message of hope and faithfulness and the future. Certainly, epic evil times are here now and future. However, He does not look for someone to zap every chance He gets. He is a Loving Father whose ways are far more wonderful that we can imagine or indeed comprehend. Each and every one of us must decide for ourselves in what direction we steer our boat. Stay safe sibling in Christ.
Yep. With great power comes great responsibility & a significant workload. Monarchs & their spouses & children who have failed to realise this or have ignored it have usually lost their heads or their thrones.
It will be weird to see Camilla in the royal jewelry - disgusting to me, actually. I'm not from the UK, so my opinion matters little. I do wonder how many staff lost their jobs because of the Queen's death - hairdressers, stylists and dressers, ladies in waiting? Also, what will become of her dogs and horses and her personal items, clothing & jewelry, letters and memorabilia. Will there be a museum so that the public can look at those things. Those are the things I'm most curious about.
Camilla has been wearing Royal jewels ever since she married Prince Charles back in 2005. She has wisely stayed away from the jewels most associated with Princess Diana. Princess Catherine wears those and it's likely to stay that way. However, for the first time at King Charles' coronation, she'll be wearing a crown.
Camiila deserves it. She has been a loving and devoted wife for many years. Diana was not the perfect angel everyone thinks she was. The Queen wanted Camilla to be Consort .
@Julia Forsyth she didn't deserve anything since she committed a biggest mistakes that everyone couldn't forget, the way people see it she's just a display for Charles. It's obvious.
@@juliaforsyth8332 Diana was not perfect because she was a human, aswell as you, me or anyone in this chat, Camila was not perfect aswell but it's understandable the hate that she haves.
I genuinely thought he’d take George as his regnal name. But than little George would be George VIII and the number eight doesnt seem that lucky in the royal family… Edit: I know Charles ain’t lucky either, but Personally, I was more worried about Little George’s luck. Charles reign started with bad luck already, the ghost of Diana will haunt him forever.
Still miss Diana dearly, life is so unfair to her, can not believe the dishonesty of these two people can take all, I just don’t know how to educate my kids about “loyalty and faithfulness “
Let's hope he will be King for a decade or more. William and Catherine have three children under ten. They will have a full schedule, but as long as William doesn't have the top job, there will be time for family life. The Queen was 25 and her children 3 and 1, when George VI died. I'm sure she would have loved to have ten years more of family life and Prince Philip his own career in thr Royal navy.
I do agree. I get so mad at the people who thought Charles should step aside for William. I would say to them William has young children, do you really want them to grow up without their father being an active part of their life. Look what it did to Charles not having his parents when he was young. It's going to be hard enough for William to take on the duties of Prince of Wales. Let him have as normal of a family life as can be managed.
Well done. You have done an excellent job in informing us. I enjoy your videos, but you have gone above and beyond at keeping us up on the Queen’s passing and it’s protocol
Combating climate change shouldn't be a "political" issue, except in the sense that it affects policy. ☹ I hope Charles III can have some sort of positive impact on that problem.
Unfortunately, now that he is King he will not be able to affect change they way he once did. He can only lead by example and by advising politicians privately. Anything more and they might abolish the monarchy (like they have in other countries).
It'll be political if he supports specific policies. There is speculation that some policies they're cooking up will make a great deal of people extremely poor and destitute. Like the energy crisis in California and Europe that is in part self inflicted. If Charles is seen supporting something that has a direct negative impact on a group of people, he'll be in trouble.
Just imagine if our Princess would have become Queen Diana of Wales, :(( I’ll never accept that monster camilla as such, Diana is the Queen of our Hearts, miss her every day

He was her fiance. She spoke to all involved with the family and to a pastor. It doesn't diminish her in anyway. She was moving forward. Both Charles and Diana were moving forward in their lives. Diana made her choice with Dodi Faraday no need to disrespect her choice and their engagement. Accident was after the dinner at the hotel.
I'm still sad about the passing of Our Queen, but I wish the new King and Queen well, and William and Catharine, Prince and Princess of Wales. I'm sure Lady Diana would have loved her daughter-in-law and adored her grandchildren.
I think she would have been a superb doting grandmother! I've been on the Diana train for decades. However, I wish Camilla well and hope her influence with His Majesty is like Prince Philip's position with Her Majesty was.
What about Prince Harry And Meghan? It seems like some of you people are very biased Harry lost his grandmother as well I find it very distasteful that he’s not included 🤷🏾♀️
I don’t understand why people hate Charles and Camilla so much. From the moment he met her she was the love of his life. Elizabeth fell in love with Philip the moment she met him at 13. Her wonderful father didn’t stand on protocol, he let her marry for love. Don’t misunderstand, I really admire Queen Elizabeth, but she had her shortcomings. If she had followed her own father‘s example and allowed Charles to marry Camilla instead of forcing him to marry someone he did not love Diana would probably still be alive today happily married to a tycoon.
Exactly. At first, I didn't like Camilla... homewrecker and all that, but then I realized it was mostly his fault and those who wouldn't let him marry the woman he loved.
@@connaeris8230 pretty sure it was more of the royal family pressuring her to marry her first husband than something she wanted to do. Same goes for Charles. All of the hardship and trauma Diana faced could have been avoided completely if they had just let them marry in the first place.
Wow I am extremely early Tbh it doesn't feel like anything has changed to me, Elizabeth II had been queen for so long that even though I know Charles is now the monarch, it's not really registering in my brain.
Same. People keep saying “the King” & it pulls me up short. I’ve never had a King. They’ll be changing the stamps and money as well and the first time we see one with the King on will be a surprise.
Side note Dianna was the only person the queen nodded to as her casket passed in the procession even tho taking time to make a formal statement this might be the only time she ever nodded to another in her life as it is against protocol
God save the King! I will deeply miss our Queen, I have known no other Monarch. Her face is on every postage stamp and every coin/note. Losing a mother is hard for anyone. Losing the Mother of a Nation is unheard of.
My condolences to you and to the British people. Even though I am an American, we do feel the loss of Queen Elizabeth over here. Our ties to England is very strong and we loved Queen Elizabeth. She was a remarkable women and a great Monarch. She will be missed.
You did an amazing job on this video. I know that you must have been working on this for a while, but today is Sept. 10th, and much of the last covered material literally happened a few short hours ago. No wonder this already has 1.2K likes.
I don't think people understand that when "nobility" get married, they rarely do it for love, they do it to keep power and money so affairs are basically the status quo. Even to this day even though it feels so outdated. This doesn't excuse what a fucking prick Charles was to Diana and how ridiculous it was that he couldn't just marry the person he really loved. ..but y'all need to stop acting like the affair was the main problem in this situation.
It happened because of Charles insecurity. Diana was more popular than him and he couldn't stand it. If only cowzilla tell Charles boy to man up and send him away instead of luring him. This would not have happened.
I’m sorry, I know you all think because Charles and Camilla were in love, that it was okay for them to have an affair while married to Diana. I am not Christian, but I AM human, and I STILL think this was wrong, and the way he treated her was disgusting! They deserve the blame! He shouldn’t have married Diana if he knew she loved him! He should have married someone who wouldn’t care if he committed adultry! He knew what he did! He wanted a young beauty by his side, and his stupid adulteress g/f lover. They ruined a young girl, and I will Always blame THEM for that!
Probably because the Church of England was founded by Henry VIII, who divorced his wife and married his mistress. And almost all of the Kings of England since have had mistresses, yet were head of the Church of England.
I know it doesn't work that way due to the next in line rule, but I wanted to see William and Catherine as King and Queen. I just don't think Charles, and Camilla deserve their new roles for all the hurt they caused all those years to Diana. That's just me though 🤷♀️
Maybe the public has treated Charles unfairly and leaned towards Diana who had better mastered public image. This is the man who has been in love with one woman throughout his life, Camilla, but was forbidden once to marry her due to duty and obligation and played along with the role given until the appointed marriage failed. His past reflects his rather meek nature up until he had become older and bolder enough to stand for the woman he loves by insisting on marrying her. From now on, I wish the public would treat them, King Charles III and Queen Camilla kindly. Royalty or not, they are also human like us.
I think he's also warmed up as a person. He's married his true love, found patronages he's passionate about, and those, plus his grand-children have brought him great joy. It shows, and I believe he'll be a much better king for it.
He is happily enjoying with woman he wanted to marry and with sons and grand kids but what Diana got. Don't be unfair for her. She loved him truly, as a teen she wouldn't know how to handle this adultery. Also, he has power by himself. How much she would have been helpless. Look at that time how much weight lost. Never justify these two. These two are selfish. They thought of their own benefits and happiness. Never thought how many ppl will suffer because of them. Just imagine those two boys how much they woul have gone through. Diana could only reach to public for justice not to any one else.
@@mahalak4044 You are absolutelty correct. Being in love with someone is not an excuse to make the woman's you married life miserable. If he truly loves the cow from the beginning, He should abdicate the throne from the beginning for him to marry his true love and not cause any pain to Princess Diana.
It was a bold choice to take his regnal name Charles III. Charles I was one of the worst in English history and was executed. Charles II was also know as the Merry Monarch for his hedonistic ways, although he was popular with the masses and died a natural death. I haven't seen Charles' speech, but will be looking for that toady.
I think so too, but looking at his full name I don't think he had much of an option. He wasn't going to reign as his father's name and start a new line, Arthur might be considered too grandiose because of legend or unlucky because of prince Arthur Tudor's sudden death, and he probably didn't want to make George become the 8th. I think that number might be considered unlucky as well. That goes back to Henry VIII being a pretty shit person to his wives and family, and Edward VIII abdicating.
It seems to be like continuity was more important than worrying about two people with the same name who lived around 400 years ago. He's been in public life for 70+ years as Prince Charles. If he suddenly picked a different name. A lot of people around the world wouldn't understand.
His speech was actually really good. He addressed the concerns people have for his reign, praised his mother and made plain how he was going to be as a king. All in 9 minutes.
Hi, just wanted to suggest a topic for your next video, the topic is the Order of the Garter. It would be great to learn the history and the origin of the order and the significance it holds.
Camilla is a Queen Contort - What's the difference between queen and queen consort? A queen consort is the female partner, spouse or companion to the King. The consort is not a formal role, and is symbolic of the support the person gives the monarch. It is different to the queen regnant, who is the ruler in their own right, like Queen Elizabeth II .
I knew there was going to be a sea change when he met the crowd at Buckingham Palace and 'glad handled' the crowd (as we say here in the US). The moment that solidified for me was when he let one woman in the crowd kiss him on the cheek. This and his speech at Buckingham on his mother's death was his best. Most excellent. Never been much of a fan of Charles (and we're separated by only 2 years so I've 'known him' for a long time) but this was a good beginning for him, the family, and the country. I was going to post this at the specific RUclips post of him at Buckingham but the comment section was closed.
Charles is shown to be morally corrupt and dishonest... when his needs are not met. If he denied he is shown to be cruel and unfeeling (,while supported by Camilla, who is self-serving).
Well researched and fairly commented, a rarity on the internet. The new King to be honest was a 'good time Charlie' in his personal Princely life over the last 50 years. Yet, his demeanor and intimate behaviour are a condition of the lack of nurturing and emotional support he never received from his parents. It will be a symptom of modern perception that his reign as King Charles the Third will be respected and observed. The same cannot be anticipated for Camilla. Just a thought, King Charles referred to William and Kate as the Prince and Princess of Wales; yet he mentioned Harry and Megan by their first names only???
Harry's tittle doesn't change as Charles becomes King. William however receives the tittle of Prince of Wales as that was the former tittle of King Charles III
The Queen mother was also Queen Consort, as was Queen Mary, and every other wife of a British King since the 17th century. They are still titled Queen. She is Queen Camilla.
If the Queen had let Charles and Camilla marry when they first fell in love, a whole lot of pain could have been avoided for so many.
All down to the Queen mother. She shouldnt have interfered.
Screwed over Princess Margarette too
As head of the church, HMTQ couldn’t let Margaret marry a divorced man. I don’t think C of E doctrine had changed when Charles was young either.

Anyone who is not literally a member of the Royal Family is a commoner.

Their marriage may have not worked out and Charles wasn't a great husband by any means, but as Diana herself once said, “I loved Charles, and he loved me - very, very much. To say that he didn't is wrong, totally wrong.”
The only reason Charles married Diana was , so he can get heirs to the throne , everyone knows that he didn’t love her , even though she tried hard to love him 😢his heart was with Camilla, such a sad ending for Diana 😰😰

Denise Coleman, so sorry. Did not mean to misspell your name. I do not have an edit button. God bless.

The Queen wanted Camilla to be Consort .
isn't that how life is generally? Were the staff going to be there forever?
@Julia Forsyth she didn't deserve anything since she committed a biggest mistakes that everyone couldn't forget, the way people see it she's just a display for Charles. It's obvious.
@@juliaforsyth8332 Diana was not perfect because she was a human, aswell as you, me or anyone in this chat, Camila was not perfect aswell but it's understandable the hate that she haves.
I genuinely thought he’d take George as his regnal name. But than little George would be George VIII and the number eight doesnt seem that lucky in the royal family…
Edit: I know Charles ain’t lucky either, but Personally, I was more worried about Little George’s luck. Charles reign started with bad luck already, the ghost of Diana will haunt him forever.
Neither has the name Charles.
Yeah keeping Charles was stupid. Oh well, he doesn't seem like a smart man, who can think outside himself.

George is too common. Charles is better sounding and isn't used as often.

I should hope they would already know. Maybe not all of it but they were probably briefed on the highlights (and the lowlights).
Well, Charles for sure studied history, so he probably learned of the monarchs of past.
Still miss Diana dearly, life is so unfair to her, can not believe the dishonesty of these two people can take all, I just don’t know how to educate my kids about “loyalty and faithfulness “

I love your documentaries, and you have a lovely voice for narration!
God Save the King 🤴

Nicely done!
@@kaylizzie7890 I know. 😞
Love the in-depth take you gave explaining it so eloquently. Without being overwhelming.
I can’t stand Charles and Camilla. They don’t deserve this after what they did to Diana. Disgraceful couple. 🤬

Diana made her choice with Dodi Faraday no need to disrespect her choice and their engagement. Accident was after the dinner at the hotel.

Didn't Camilla accept Parker-Bowles's proposal when Charles was away on duty? Maybe Charles loved her, but she didn't love him enough.
Exactly. At first, I didn't like Camilla... homewrecker and all that, but then I realized it was mostly his fault and those who wouldn't let him marry the woman he loved.
I don't quite get it either.
And maybe become a Muslim.
@@connaeris8230 pretty sure it was more of the royal family pressuring her to marry her first husband than something she wanted to do. Same goes for Charles. All of the hardship and trauma Diana faced could have been avoided completely if they had just let them marry in the first place.

Question from someone who lives across the pond. If Diana was still alive and Charles remarried Camilla, would Camilla still be Queen?
Yes
Diana would have also had to relinquish her Princess of Wales title when Charles married Camilla.
(Camilla chose not to use her P of Wales title)
Yes
I would believe so since Camilla is the one married to Charles.
She would be. On a similar note, she will NOT be Queen Mother upon Charles' death, as she wouldn't be the mother of the King
Side note Dianna was the only person the queen nodded to as her casket passed in the procession even tho taking time to make a formal statement this might be the only time she ever nodded to another in her life as it is against protocol

I don’t think so! He just has a thing for married women. Camila isn’t the only one. The man doesn’t know even how to spell word morals, sadly.😢
May they rule Britannia wisely!

I love your videos so much. Thank you ♥️
In this time of great sadness the photo of Charles at 2:20 made me chuckle. No matter king nor peasant, ceremonies are boring for tiny humans
Can't forget Bonnie Prince Charlie.
