hey ..was watching some previous videos and noticed this in the list. I had today added an nvme drive onto a pci adaptor and pop into into the Slot 5 PCI lane on my Dell R720. I had heard they supported NVME but following your instructions I had it up and running in Proxmox in no time at all. thanks
    😀

Did you insert the Caddy with SSD with the server power on? Or you installed the disks with the server power off? Would be SSD hot swapable on that server?

Any suggestions on a good lap top or desktop computer to run GIS software/coding projects? Currently using Mac book air but need some more processing power. Thanks!

I prefer desktops over laptops. For GIS, you're going to want a decent GPU and CPU as well as a SSD. Would you consider building your own desktop?

@@erikgeiser6750 It's been a while since I built a desktop (10+ years) so I'm not up to date on the latest hardware... Maybe start here ? - www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/wiki/partsguide/
I've been working with servers more lately but for GIS processing, would definitely recommend a desktop. Depends on budget too
