Actually a high quality tip. I've had to install my old axle nuts because the ones that came with my axles are slightly thinner and kept unstaking and spinning loose. But I've never been able to torque it correctly either, so hopefully this sorts it out

Thanks for informative video. I need some advice on my truck if you can help. I have a 2002 TT-2 Suburu Sambar 4 wheel Drive. No manuals for torque specs. No help from part suppliers. American Suburu Dealers do not recognize the truck as Suburu. I am thinking the torque specs on the vehicle you have in video is possibly a good spec. I should have checked Torque before removing nut. However I purchased a Danko book that supposedly was a shop manual for my truck . WRONG!! His book is truly worthless.
I did check torque on rear wheels. But the torque is higher than my wrench goes. Not sure if torque is different front to rear. Any suggestions ?

Well done! Thank you. I have an 18 Outback, never have axles been replaced so far. Approx 34k miles. Should axle nuts be checked from time to time and what might be the consequences if they are not sufficiently torqued to the spec. I have a little ticking from the wheel I believe, Not backing plate or dust shield. Pads new, rotors and calipers all good. When I apply the brake the ticking noise goes away and I am thinking maybe that it's a slightly loose axle nut perhaps, or beginning of a bad CV joint. Does nor sound like a hub. Thanks for all you do,

My 04 wrx wagon axle nut keeps coming lose. I’ve torqued it to spec multiple times and still it loosens off. I get down the road and boom the grinding noise from the axle comes back because the nut keeps coming loose. Does this mean it’s guaranteed my wheel bearing? How would i know? I watch this video thinking I was torquing it the wrong way the whole time
