    I've been wanting to see sum data logs from your runs, and wow! I would have never guessed 477 amps! I was thinking like 350-400 tops. No doubt, this is why I watch your channel! BG4L

    Hydra can handle 477 amps for a speed run Big b. That’s pushing it on motor side but it’s a cm motor so it should be able to take it. For a pass or two. Free up that cg and amps will go down. Just don’t get greedy doing too many passes. With a gnss should bring it in after each pass to get a quick reading

    Wow: I think you mentioned 16 hp if so that’s insane, many people ask me how much horsepower these boats have, I had no idea. I just ran my dominator with heavier packs Moore C, I could tell right away too much forward CG. Did not even run a second run untaped moved far back as possible, thing ripped. I really really appreciate your videos, BIG B YOUR THE MAN

    Nice coverage of the running data from the esc. That is some serious Amp draw 😮
    I noticed in the video you got some slop between the prop and the stinger. I mean radial direction, and not axial. Maybe the bushing is a bit worn? You might check that, to keep the driveline balanced with those extreme rpm setups 😎👍

      Yea, I got it pulled apart now, changing the bushing out. Already changed the stock bushing, on my 3rd set.

    This, plus your data only proofs exactly what you said. Everything has to work together exactly right. These amps are crazy! I don't have a link yet, nor same speeds, but sure my same size motor doesn't pull these amps. That difference by itself is remarkable...

      I find it almost unbelievable how the amp draw changed so much with the heavier/forward Cog. That's why I love running boats always something new everyday

    Big b,always enjoy listening to you jackin yer jaw. Got my first boat last year, Velez 29, kinda hot for a first boat, but you helped me realize it wasn’t all on me for the low speed tips I was experiencing. Didn’t even know you could tune a boat before watching your vids. Keep on doin what you do!

    Hey Big B, I think your data log numbers are fine for a single pass. I notice you love to rip it heading back. And you do that on multiple passes. Your temps WILL go up, it's not a lap run setup. Got to limit the run time.
    That said, here's a few tips I've learned from others to ease your mind.
    Ripple current is the big ESC killer. Even with a wet setup, your ripple is very good. You want 10% of nominal voltage max for ripple current. So 10% of 29.6 is 2.96. You're well under that! Bear in mind, higher ripple current and amp draw can also come from more aggressive props, even with a looser setup.
    And yeah, ideally, voltage sag would be not much under nominal voltage. That's from your wet setup.
    You can get away with high amp draw on single passes, bring it in, check your speed, let it cool down.
    Can't get away with higher ripple current. Even on single passes it's a killer. Ask me how I know, lol.
    Btw, low ripple current means your overall setup is good. Good lipos, connectors, wires, wire length, capacitors on esc...
    Loosen her up and let her rip! Get your setup right before hand and give her the beans on a single pass...

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the info, very helpful insight.. I wasn't aware of the 20% ripple rule, thanks.
      Can't believe my Frankenstein motor is pulling that kind of current. insane!

    • @chilly7261
      @chilly7261 5 месяцев назад

      @IRONCLADRC It's 10%, but yeah. Data Log numbers means your setup is sound. You can push it on short runs. Keep them short and keep temps from spiking. BG4L...

    Side note question. Now that you have had some time with the Oxi Animal. What's your thought on the Proboat Blackjack 42? Is it worth getting or just save for the animal? Love the channel!!!

    I have a log where amps peak at 667 amps 😅
    409-550 is pretty normal for runs where you are pushing it hard but for those you do one pass and bring it in. Get a motor kv tester. If the kv goes up you know you over heated the magnets...

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  5 месяцев назад +1

      Let's freaking GO! That's what I'm talking about 667 amps and no smoke, "I hope" 😆 magnet seems strong, I definitely need to invest in a kv tester that would be a great addition to the channel. Thanks BG4L

      I've learned to swap out the battery for a fresh one & it works every time. Not sure why. But the more drag the higher the amps, it should help assist tuning. I've also noticed more voltage drop with the HP packs. I'm doing a comparison at the moment on Ripple voltage on different packs. 16hp is nutzzzz

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  5 месяцев назад +1

      To be honest I haven't hooked it up in the field, I have a little jst extension on my receiver, so I disconnect the b link before hitting the water. Really only because I run in brackish water, don't want to take any chances type deal. I keep i in my tool box incase I need to make any changes... overall it's pretty handy, highly recommend 👌
