they think it’s “safer” for them to take up more space so you don’t get the chance to pass at all compared to hugging the side of the road where a car might pass really closely. imo i don’t think it’s safer at all when they do that, just pisses me off and makes me drive really close to them as a way to say gtfo the middle of the road when i do get the chance to pass. however when i see a courteous biker hugging the side of the road i actually go out my way to give them more space.
@e92e36 Exactly, it's actually much more dangerous for everyone when a biker takes the entire lane and doesn't give cars space to pass. When you give someone respect on the road, most of the time you get it back.
