"is it good or bad", your eyes Grieving for you to say "I LOVED IT" hahahahaha During the heavy part on antikythera you were loving, but you can't just say you did, for some reason I don't know...

I think you like it very much because why else you should react??
If you don't it's a waste of your time and stop reacting.

Maybe he needs a few more listens until he likes the songs 😅. I immediately loved Yesterwynde, but I needed quite a few listens until I really got into Human Nature. Now it´s one of my favorites.

if you think Tuomas went mad then you have never listened to old Nightwish. These 2 songs (which kind of reaction is this with almost no comments?) really remind me of old nightwish. They say nw have changed, but the truth is that Tuomas rather went back to his roots with this album. Mechanism sounds like a song from Wishmaster.

I think this is an album that will divide the peoples opinions. Either you love it or it´s not your cup of tea, there will be nothing in between 😂. I personally love it, because I´m absolutely here for the experimental craziness, but it´s probably not for the listeners who just want to hear a "normal" metal song with symphonic elements. Listening to the orchestral version of the album I also think that this is more of a soundtrack for a movie and not necessarily a band album.

I concur! I love it when NW polarize their fan base lol - they've done it on every album since Dark Passion Play. Human Nature is very much a "band album" that showcases vocals, but haters gonna hate and they always find a reason to. This album is defiant to any expectations and the most experimental Nightwish have ever been - harmonically, melodically, stylistically. The "weirdest" songs are the ones I've instantly gravitated towards so far, songs that will not leave any comfortable 16 bars unchallenged. But if you're looking for a catchy groove and singular vibe to sink into, then "yours is an empty hope".

@@ImmortalDecember I´m quite new to the fan base, so this is the first time I experience all the stuff going on around the new album release 😂, but it probably always was that way with new Nightwish albums. When Tarja was thrown out of the band and Anette replaced her, there was a lot of discussions going on, the band lost some of their old fans, but they also gained new ones.
There are still people who want Nightwish to make power metal like on the Oceanborn album 😅. And people complaining that nearly everything they´ve done since DDP/Imaginaerum is not heavy enough...
What I appreciate so much about Nightwish is, that you can´t put them in any genre. Symphonic Metal in some way, but they have many songs that are completely different. And I think it's good that they've evolved and don´t make the same music they did 20 years ago.

@EternalWishes96 Haha sounds you've got a good read on the drama of the fan base! Trust me, Nightwish practically raised me, and let me tell ya - it used to irritate me to no end, but now I'm just bemused lol. Some fans legit treat every lineup change like they're going through a divorce in real life - half of them are still in love with their exes and the other half exert all their volume to trash the ex in favour of their new marriage lol. I swear it's like the US election with every album release, every few years the fans put on their lawn signs and microphones.
Never listen to the fandom or let anyone influence your own Nightwish experience. Let's not drag each other down, lest we become like Tool fans - the warning sign of insufferable toxicity. 😅

I think that a self-protection program "runs" in all of us, which urges us to find comfort in what is familiar. This limits our openness to the new. The new musical direction of Nightwish, evident in the last 2 albums, is not only on a surface level, but is truly experimental. I think this scares many of the old fans, who no longer find the comfort of familiarity in the new songs. Somehow, they limit Nightwish in their minds to repeating the same and the same harmonies with each new album, while obviously their music evolves, the proof being the incredible level of integration of symphonic elements in metal, evident in the first 3 singles from the new album.
I admit that to a certain extent I also feel the lack of familiarity, so I will listen to the new songs a few times, to overcome this barrier. I can't wait for the delivery of the album, probably tomorrow. I ordered the 3CD Earbook, to have all the original versions...

@@gabriel.bardac I also ordered the Earbook and it´s fantastic. The orchestral version alone is beautiful. There are differences to what Nightwish sounded back in the day, but the overall feeling is very similar to Imaginaerum in my opinion. There are also elements from other albums. It´s completely different from what Human Nature for example sounded like, so it might be easier for long time fans to get into it.

Assuming that Tuomas really has gone mad :) and that his madness is contagious, do you think we should all wear a mask, like a few years ago, or accept this special form of madness?... Rhetoric.
