The Hilux also has a normal mode. Make sure you deselect both power and eco, this will turn the MID black and become normal. Rather than another normal mode button (like the Fortuner), you deselect and it becomes normal by default.
So basically, what I understood (by comparing it with MLD) is that:
MLD: it locks the differential to move both wheels at same speed (like in Thar, Scorpio or Bolero Neo)
LSD: instead of locking, it applies some pressure differently to the differential on both sides so that they will move at different speed... as required by the traction control
Word of advise, get the diff lock breather kit as well as crank case ventilator and you are all set with this great truck.
Fun fact:- har nyi cheez shuru main best lagti hai 😅. We get the real emotions and feelings after a year or 2

Auto LSD apne ap turn off ho jata hai once speed increases above a threshhold in 2H. Ye Fortuner mai 3yrs pehle se hai aur isme bhi same hai.
Fortuner 2X4 mai bhi traction off krte hi engage ho jata hai Auto LSD at low speed.
Gadi intelligent hai log nhi hai to kya hua 😂😂
I love this truck so much that if I had enough money I'd buy a Hilux every year and build each of them differently. Daily drivers to hardcore off-roaders this truck can do all and will last for 500k+ kms.

There is a common misconception that long wheelbase isn't good for offroading but mind you in situations where you have to rock crawl longer wheelbase is better since it prevents tunring over of vehicle. This doesn't mean Shor wheelbase is bad it's just that in few situations it's better to be in a longer wheelbase vehicles.

Only Indian car is Scorpio N that has a sophisticated traction control system like A-Trac. But the problem is it's bad design. Pathetic approach,departure,ramp over angle, very vulnerable placement of radiator, def tank etc make a capable 4X4 into a bullshit.

Bhai hilux lene ka koi fayda nahi hai, yeh ek capable suv nahi hai i have driven it and i could feel the even lighter body weight than the fortuner and you should see the moose test of the car when the car performs in high stress and sudden maneuvering. All in all congratulations to your purchase.

Abh DCV Bhai Hilux ko promote karne par aaye hai. Par mujhe nahi lagta hai ho payega. Lifestyle pickup trucks ka US, Canada, South East Nations, Australia mein culture raha hai. Unn desho mein kheti ko rural activity nahi mana jaata, wahaan farms ko plantations bulaya jaata hai. Log shouk se plantations rakhte hai. India ka rural farming scenario bahot alag hai. India mein pickup trucks historically kubhi nahi biki hai aur inko bechna aasaan nahi hoga.
