"The Hunt are in effect Dillinger V2.0. 60% of the dissolved Dillinger quickly reformed into the rather oddly named The Hunt. And they went right about making a superb hard rock album. All of Side 1, and the opener of Side 2 is darn near perfect. Heavy guitars, Hammond organ, flute, passionate singing, and great compositions is what you'll hear on The Hunt. A little Led Zeppelin, a little Rush, and a lot of Dillinger. Concerning the latter, the prog rock tendencies of the past are wiped clean. This is pure unadulterated hard rock of the highest order. Starting with 'Billy', the album begins to break down a bit. This track sounds like a Styx reject from the Crystal Ball sessions. 'Sent Me Away' maintains the Styx motif, though in this case, it's album worthy and a solid heavy AOR number. 'On Revient (tout le temps)' recalls the earlier hard rock greatness. And the album closes with 'Sad Song' which seems like the mandatory lame ballad has finally appeared. But the track is saved by a powerful guitar solo to close the album. So even though The Hunt does crawl to the finish line, it had built such a great lead, the album still posted high in the standings. Excellent music here and not to be missed by fans of the mid 70s hard rock sound."

when i was a kid ny Neighbor was a DJ on WTUE in Dayton Ohio. Al Morgan was his name and he gave me about 300 promotional LPs. this was one of them. it is good to hear it again.
28 July 2021, sitting on my lounge in Wagga Wagga, Australia listening to this for the first time. I've been to Canada a dozen times since 1984 and spent a lot of time there yet have never heard or seen this record. It's bloody good!!
Seen these guys in a bar in southern Ontario in the late seventies. Loud and a good show. So, I bought this album. I still have it but haven't had a turntable in years. Nice to hear it after all these years.
I was there! I really liked The Hunt Great times in Niagara Falls
@@everettmercer9737

Don't worry, I see Brian all the time because he's my grandfather
awesome great album 👏 😊
Discovered this here a while ago and added it to my want list…just found an original vinyl today in my local record shop!
Played the hell outta this album in my room as a 12 year old teenager back in 1977 the year this album came out.🎸👍🇺🇸
VERY VERY GOOD LP.......................................
Beautyful album 👍👍👍👍👍
Sounds like Lone Star meets Tull & Led Zep to me.
Excellent!
Amazing sound! Great Rock music!
Vocal's sound like a mix of Robert Plant, Nick Gilder and a few others I can't think of at this moment. Either way I'm diggin it.🤘
TO THE MAN WHO PUT FORTH HIS TIME AND ENERGY CREATING THIS AMAZING CHANNEL FOR ALL OF US MUSIC LOVERS TO ENJOY, THANK YOU SIR!🤘

Outstanding fighter! Bravo! Why didn't I know such an exemplary performance? Because it's impossible to cover everything. But ...... I'm 64 and I'm listening. Thank you !
Awesome band, reminds me of the band Rush 😊
The whole album is a classic...saw them in San Antonio in late 70's....
Very nice álbum. Thanks
GREAT ALBUM!
Back in the early 70's we had an independant FM radio station that would play a lot of musical artist that the commercial stations wouldn't even think of playing then that independent station was bought out by westwood 1 or some other commercial company and no longer did I have much choice for any new music or bands & different types artist so it really pisses me off to find great music of that era 40 plus years later and this band is fantastic ! so why did it not get the air play it deserved in 1977 ? ....Thank You So Much to Thebestdream I had for bringing great music to my attention once again !
We also had a station that was the same. If I remember right it only played on the weekend. It was called subway. We would call in often. N.B. Canada.
Very Solid Album.
Спасибо.
.. I never mind .. memories of my old brothers
Still kicks hard after all this time. These guys should have been famous. They had the whole box and dice.

DUDE !! Back in 77' -We were ALL in "The Hunt" : Sex-Drugs & RnR.
The Lonely Rocker digs this kinda music! good ole vintage rock of the seventies. very enjoyable!
Great band👍👍👍👍👍🙏
Благодарю
Had seen these guys so many times. I think the Tube and the Gasworks (or was it the Knob) were a couple of their common stops. Would catch Kersey walking up/down Yonge Street, sometimes a little chatting. Caught him in a couple of shows before he left Max Webster. Turned my three boys onto The Hunt.... Too bad they never got to see them live...
Definitely unique
Pure Gold!!!!!
I Like this.
"in this band the members all played various instruments
& several played bass guitar as well as alternating on other
instruments,in most bands a member usually just played one
or two instruments in the band lineups, but they seem to alternate
their roles in the band, mainly in the studio recording sessions
I'll try to look them up and read about them,
in fact most of the groups you have on here i look up & try to find
about as much as I can find on them, thats what I always do especially
bands of the past that I never heard of from the 60's and 70's,
i find out the names of the band members and what their roles were
in the band such the instruments they play and if they write or produce
as well and any other info on them such as how many albums they put out,
why they didn't make it,what they did in later years and if any members are
still alive etc."-🤔🌐📻🎸🥁🎹🎸🎤🌐..
Sounds pretty good to me
Very good song this band!
PAUL DICKINSON.....Canada's best kept secret!! BULLRUSH RULES!!
see if you can get Glen Gratto to upload those live Bullrush tapes collecting dust in his basement......thank you for this.
Nice!!
What a gem!
Thanks very much for the upload. 👏👍✌
well, damn. dont know where this one has been hiding!
So cool. Please post the rest of The Hunt catalog if you are able. Very grateful!
Блин! Как же они хороши! Особенно с третьего захода. 👍❤
good
a classic band unrewarded
whoa. sweet... opener truly gets one's attention. And Robert Plant vocal stylings w Tull flute chops? I'm in
Band's last album (The thrill of the kill, 1982) is the best. No flute, just old good hard rock.
Bang on nail
The flute is pretty sick
They sound good. Popular rock on the radios of that time. I say no more.
Sehr geil!Erinnert mich streckenweise an Jethro Tull, aber auch ein bisschen an Emerson,Lake and Palmer!😜
Bought the second album (Back on the Hunt) on the basis of the cover. It sounded nothing like what the cover suggested. Free-type blues rock (including a Free cover). Excellent album. I got this album a few years ago - nothing like Back on the Hunt. And then the 3rd album is a child of the 80s. Very strange - 3 albums, 3 different styles. Interesting, though, and I would particularly recommend Back on the Hunt.
Buen album. Viva San Bartolo
BUEN ALBUM
Soooooo FM, so coooool
Wow, I forgot how good this is. Time to call my record store guy.
WOW, this is interesting...
Me recuerdan a BUDGIE con JETHRO TULL , jjajajajajaja son buenos !!!
"I want to be King" . 100% Judas!
Reminds me if Rush and Jethro Tull had a child. Now it's sounding like a Zeppelin child comes out the womb too.
Right said Glenn 👌👍❤️
I hear elements of Floyd in there as well...
Morelike Led Zepplin and Magma too me personally, but also not a far off comparison.
wtf is this, awesome
Grande surpresa! Senti influências de Uriah Heep, principalmente, no arranjos vocais.
Seen them live Penny Arcade Rochester NY 77 !
great lp. just read the description posted up top.
Not bad, not bad )
Интересная музыка, понравилась!
COOL.
So, basically the original Dillinger Escape Plan. Got it.
Judas met Jethro and went Hunting in a Zeppelin in a Rush.
Sounds a little like geddy Lee at times.
... 👍 !!
After 2 Album of Dillinger Change the name to the Hunt Brian Gagnon replace Terry Bramhall
replace My Brother Bob Harrisson to Paul Kersey (Max webster ) Paul Cockburn (guit) Then Gerry Mosby join the band on Bass and myself Jacques Harrisson
great work on The guit Paul Cockburn and the rest of the Gang
Love This guy's Cockburn, Kersey, Gagnon' Mosby, And Myselft Jacques Harrisson Still In contact after all this year ! That The hunt !!!!!!
Something like two other Canadian bands.... Rush and Triumph. Great find.
Best Dream, a rare snow has blanketed the Acropolis. Are you enjoying it ?
I enjoyed this album. Thanks.
Snow in the center of Athens is really a rare phenomenon and extremely fun at the same time.
Unfortunately, the restrictions on the traffic and opening hours of the shops due to a pandemic did not allow us to be as happy as we should have been.
Nevertheless, the city remains one of the safest and most beautiful areas in Europe.
Thank you for your kind words
Your friend Babis.
@@ThebestdreamIhad
Hello friend, without ever being to Athens, I know it is beatiful, just like the women. To visit Greece, is on my bucket list. If I had only one choice of European cities to see, that place would be Athens.
Fresh fallen snow is a piture perfect postcard scene. Being from Chicago, it does get old. Just dug out of 18 inches on top of the 21 inches that fell within the last two weeks. However, I'm not complaining, other northern cities have had it much worse. The biggest bitch is the polar vortex. It brings with it wind chills well below zero.
Stay safe Babis and rock on !
in some spots reminds me of April Wine. great band!
And a lttle Uriah Heep, love it 🤘🎸
They always reward Judas Priest without rewarding The Hunt and many other bands. When it is about 1 or 2 groups, well it may happen. But when in 2021, when we have tons of overlooked bands, you have to understand there is always something wrong. I mean, don't just hear but LISTEN carefully to the albums produced from '68 to '77 (approx.) and tell me the artists the were more ahead of their times. It's not being nostalgic, because I wasn't even born in 1977...... :)
👍
👏👏👏💚🎶🙏
So Any Chance of you Putting up the 2nd Album from the Hunt-Back on the Hunt???
❗❗❗
Say man are there any albums worth checkin out that you can’t upload here, I’m sure y’all know how it is when you hear them you wanna hear them all
If u could do like a quick video of all the ones worth checkin out just like title, band, and maybe a picture of the cover that’d be great. Like for instance I’d never heard jd blackfoots ultimate prophecy until my uncle told me about it and I bought the record cuz it’s nowhere on the web, it got me thinkin what else I’m missing
Paul Kersey? When did he have time to make music between killing thugs?
😂good one!
Are they from Canada ?????
Yes, Canadian band
Where are they from ?????????
Canadian band
Did the drummer mix this ?
ElCharvo lol, now that you mention it, i cant un-hear it.
Carmine Appice would be proud.
That's why it sounds nice n thick.😉
Скажи мне что это что то из раннего Цепеллина и я бы поверил!!!
Это же голос Планта!?
Факт,сам в шоке.Никогда не слышал,для меня открытие.😃😃😃
Cant download
Underated canadian band . FM stations ??? Allloooooo ....... Are you deaf :(
The album sounds way off, lacking a lot of punch and almost out of tune. I had to accelerate the speed to x1.25 and it sounds a lot better. Now I actually enjoy the vocals.
Keep on editing x a few more times, it sounds way off.
Sounds p prog to me tbh.
