    Definitely do the drop cloth curtains, you need to take the rod all the way to the crown and flank the windows as not to cover the window/light.

    Loved this video!! Absolutely loved how you decorated the dining room hall and formal sitting area!! Loved the style of your video also! As for the drop cloth drapes in dining room, I think either way would look good but If you put up drapes I would probably leave them open and just use them to frame the window❤️❤️❤️

    I have enjoyed your channel ever sense i ran across it. I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas decorating and tours.
    If you want to karate chop your pillows in your house, do it because people are kinda split on it, so it's your home! Your pillows are so pretty, I love how the gray one with the white geometric you said felt floral goes with the black rug. Everything is so pretty in your house! I am making mine more farmhouse everyday, except I can't go neutral or white, My rooms are kitchen-yellow, dining room-deep red, fireplace room- parakeet green, TV room- warm gold, with white trim.
    I decided to take down my winter mantle tonight and add a vintage bulb drying tray with a tulip wreath similar to your window with the tulip and lavender wreath. I really love your ideas, I will subscribe tonight.

    Hi Amy Fritz, you mentioned in this video that you’re thinking about doing curtains with painters drop cloth, I think that’s what you meant, and you asked for comments right! Ok well I did that in my tv room and loved it and wanted to do the same for my dinning room but I didn’t have more fabrics and didn’t feel like going back to Home Depot but, I remembered that I had two “ white linen table cloths “ that I had bought at Sam’s Club and they are long cause I used them for my long plastic tables that I use for party’s so I got them out and gave them a good ironing use some silver curtain rings from Tuesday morning that I had and hung them in my dinning room and they look gorgeous!!! 👍 people have made really good comments on them and they only costed me like $12 or $14 bucks each ( that’s how much you pay for a table runner ) and they looks and feels fresh, bright and airy like you said you like it. I just wanted to share that with you maybe you would like to give a try just don’t wash or remove labels off them and that way if you decide you like how they look you keep them and if not you can just return everything back ( FYI put the curtain rods high and wider than the window and that makes the room feel bigger and the selling looks taller in my opinion)

  • @auntievk9852
    @auntievk9852 4 года назад

    Amy, in the dining room you should do curtains BUT get a huge road and have them slightly touch the windows edge - especially where you have no wall hangings beside the window!!! Best of both worlds - curtains and bright windows!!! PS love what you’ve done with it all!!

  • @juliesmernoff9635
    @juliesmernoff9635 4 года назад

    Please no! Just after design school custom draperies were my specialty. PLEASE just put some light, no design, white sheers. Hang a simple rod as close to the ceiling as possible with glass or white finials. Let the sheers splash on the floor. Beautiful, elegant, simple = farmhouse.

  • @catbrito
    @catbrito 4 года назад

    Hi Amy. If you have enough privacy, I think you should just leave the window as it is, no curtains needed. ❤️💖

  • @jossiebparzons
    @jossiebparzons 4 года назад

    Since you like the light coming from your window, just do a valance on the small windows above. You can do it wit buffalo check or the drop cloth. You’ll have some decor there, but you won’t block the light.

  • @mkbaby2012
    @mkbaby2012 4 года назад

    I love the idea of doing curtains! I personally hang my rods so they are wider than the windows. That way, when the curtains hang down, they don’t block any of the window or light. I swear, it also makes the windows look so much larger! Love this video, your home is beautiful!

    Hi Amy I am new to your channel. Your dinning room is lovely! I have 2 suggestions for your window, one would be just shear curtains hung from iron pipe with clips. We did that in our living room and it looks beautiful. I did not want to block any light either. A second idea if you mainly want something flanking the windows might be two barn doors that you could close if you wanted and they would meet in the middle of the windows. It would give you texture on that window wall as well! Im sure whatever you do will be beautiful!!

    Hi your dining room is beautiful.. if you want to hang drop cloth curtains what I would do is extent the rod past the two sides of the window so when you pull them aside the full window is showing and when you want privacy you can just close them. It will also make your window look larger when the drapes are open....good luck...

    You could do the drop cloth curtains but hang the rod farther out from where your windows stop so it gives the illusion of a bigger window and doesn’t take away from your light Bc they’ll technically be hanging over the wall not over your window! 🙂

    Two suggestions: yes on curtains for the window. If yours are like mine, I always just keep the curtains pulled to either side so no light is blocked. Also, how about tiny, single short flower stems in some or all of the little milk bottles on hutch to give a bit of color to balance with the colors on the cookbooks and anthropologie cups?

    I think a drop would look great there!!! But, to keep the open space and light coming through I would hang the rod high and a longer one almost to where the curtains are actually on the wall on both sides of that makes sense. I also think it will make ur window look bigger than what it is!! Loved the video!

    I would deffinately do the drop cloth curtains. You can use the round curtain clips, and keep them to the side, so you still get the natural light coming through.

    You could take your curtain rod almost all the way across the wall then you could have the curtains actually in front of the wall instead of the window so they don’t block the light but still add texture and warmth/coziness. But then if you need them over the window you could move the curtains over to in front of the window.

    Do shutters on the bottom. It would complete your country decor and btw love your dining room 🥰🥰🥰

    Love your ideas. As for the dining room curtains. I would add the drop cloth drapes but put them on either side of the window then you won’t lose the light.

    Love it all. I would do white plantation shutters in your diningroom. They are an investment, but well worth it.
