He's the same man who made the silent movie in 1987,puskpak, the movie in which kamal hasan played a blind violinist amavasya chandrudu (1983), appuraja in which kamal played a dwarf, Michel madana kamarajan, the comedy in which he played three roles. Incidentally, singitam posted a video on his twitter today, that he completed 70 years in film industry and on September 21st, he will be turning 93.
