if you feel like your sexuality is affected by the transmission of your car, well, you need to reevaluate yourself and your sexuality
I agree enjoy the car not the joy stick
Patrick star i like how this was a coment not a response to another coment but yes my gender is 100% determined by a sportscars transmission it should have a manual if its a damn sportscar get out of here just trying to justify your auto sports car or minivan.
Don’t be a stickbrosexual
@@Texasbroski512 prob drives a auto stang lol
fuck off kiddos
At the end of the day, all that really matters is that the owner is happy with his/her car. It shouldn't matter whether or not a car is a manual or automatic because there will always be individual personal preferences. The car community was supposed to be about embracing everyone's personal style, and while some may not agree with the owners choices on certain things, it isn't their car so it shouldn't matter to them what the owner prefers.
Thank youuu exactlyyyy
Mina I agree
Her* car
Also not a lot of know how to drive manual
I agree, but honestly for me i dont mind driving a manual because the auto is slower and that makes me sad. most autos are faster than their manual counterpart due to the auto being able to faster than people but this cvt is just different it somehow manages to be slower even tho my design cvt's are supposed to be faster and more efficient... but the cvt is the wrx manages to be neither compared to the manual, and that makes me sad.
As an owner of a WRX CVT, there is too much ignorance in these comments from people who have never even driven it.
Do you recommend it? I'd love a manual but with traffic I don't think it would be a sensible choice. Is the CVT sport enough for a car guy?
+Abdulrazzak Bakor My best advice would be to test drive it. I sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic for majority of my commute (NYC), so that's why I went with the CVT. It's quick, and handles well, so for me, it's the perfect car.
I'm a car guy too, I don't care what other people say. I haven't had a single Subaru owner give me shit for it. The only people who do are usually teenagers with beaters lol. My last car was a manual Maxima, great car that was fun to drive on open roads, but I absolutely hated operating a clutch in traffic while I was barely awake at 7AM.
+BasedNeel I sit in traffic all the time too, but I'm not sure weather I'll be able to test drive it because of my age; I'm 18
Abdulrazzak Bakor Depends on the dealer. I'm 20, and was ready to put down $10k in cash so they let me test drive it because they knew I was serious. My best advice would be to find a used one. They're less strict on those.
Learn to drive a manual
I'm getting this for sure. I'm not a racer but i just love how it looks and the fact that it has power. I'm not going into a fucking rally
manderp same bro and I’m from chicago So when I get out of work at 5 the traffic is ridiculous so the auto comes in handy
I am just starting to make my channel all about my WRX CVT, check it out if you are interested. They really are amazing cars.
Just get a auto brz, frs, 86 and buy a Jackson racing turbo... I think u can get the same power and it feels cooler.. Lighter.. Ok maybe not as powerful but that's basically what it is. A 4 cylinder with a turbo.
Awd, great crash rating and good gas mileage, and sedan seating. Wish I knew about this before getting my mustang :(
Might as well just get a regular Impreza instead of the sports variant of it.
I think Subaru should have gone with dual clutch in the auto wrx
your trolling, right?
lol no.
Christopher Millington The base WRX costs 27K, and the base STi costs 38K. If you equate for the parts they use, and the premium things that they use in the car it adds up quickly. Although a dual clutch auto would be cool it simply isnt practical since the STi only comes in Manual unless you have the Limited Launch Edition Option to add the STi CVT. Trust me ive driven a Launch edition 2015 WRX STi, and STis CVT is awesome. When in Sport # mode, and go to a heavy acceleration the CVT Keep the engine in the peak boost/torque state, but still adjusts to accelerate quickly. The CVT also has a faster 0 to 60 time due to that little feature.
***** Yea i know. The dealers in the PA, NY, NJ Tristate area sell them ridiculously high.
+Shadowaries1 Sti CVT? thats a real option?
Fuk that exhaust with CVT sounds annoying.
The 2015 WRX also come stock with equal length headers. Auto, or Manual they still have the same sound because they now come stock with equal length headers. one of the trade offs of switching from EJ to FA. the FA can most definatly make more power, but i still believe the EJ is better.
Christopher Millington Welp when you own an 02 WRX with a JDM EJ257 STi engine, and a 2012 Sti with an EJ255 its kinda hard to turn on it. Subarus been using the EJ for performance for awhile. Although if you read my comment i said the "The FA can most definitely make more power" because i 100% believe the FA is currently a better engine, and its even proven knowing that the JDM BRZ STi makes upwards to 400HP stock. People who have been Subaru fans for awhile can tell you that the FA doesnt feel like an EJ. Now with that said although the FA is a better engine because its newer, and has new technologies if the EJ were to be over hauled it would be equally powerful. Although Subaru has released different revisions of the Ej they are no different then the first EJ used in the first WRX back in the 90s. If the EJ were to be reincarnated with the same new technologies, and modern touch the FA has it would be equally sufficient. The FA just doesnt the the grumble, or the fell of the EJ.
+Shadowaries1 I miss my EJ. I still stop and listen every time I here an EJ WRX/STi.
the engine sounds bad because of the equal length headers. it changes the sound from the distinct Subaru rumble. now it's a regular 4 banger sound, much like many inlines
Eric Lopez Yes, and no. ELH Headers on an EJ sound decent if you want the power. the FA in general has the more 4 banger sound.
Thank you for reviewing the CVT. I can't operate a clutch because of a disability and have been wanting to hear how this transmission performs.
captmorgan81 I have the 2016 wrx with cvt and added the nameless catback delete. it is really fun to drive, it puts a smile on my face everytime.
captmorgan81 any wrx is great, automatic or manual
@@farmerman7947 I think the unpredictable nature of the cvt is fun. I've driven a 2015 wrx base at a dealer. Great car, but they were asking 18k for it.
My Grandma actually bought these not too long ago. (Seriously lol) she's cool as hell. She used to drive stick but wanted a faster automatic car than her old daily. Everytime I see her she tells me she's been gapping every manual owner. I love her humor and I also love her to death. Cherish what makes you happy. I doubt any haters have a grandma cooler than mine with a gnarly past ROFL
I have the CVT and I know it gets SO MUCH hate, and I can understand why. And I do agree that the the Manual is the better choice when it comes to experiencing the true WRX appeal. BUT people don't understand why people may NEED an automatic and still want the fun driving experience. I have been doing nothing but loving the WRX even with a CVT, I have zero problems, I fill up way less, and for a road trip car, way more practical. Although I do understand, you don't buy a wrx to be comfortable lol.
Any new complaints about the CVT?
I had a 2010 Altima and the cvt was so smooth
@@po.russki if you maintain the cvt every 30-50k it’ll be fine.
Howa your engine and transmission?
Seeing honest and informed reviews like this makes me feel better about wanting the CVT model. (North Jersey rush hour traffic; I grew up on automatic cars.)
The new gen WRXs are super quick mid 5sec cars...Neither cvt or the Manual should be- disrespected.
Ok guys this is getting out of hand. Yes its an automatic, yes its a WRX with a STI wing. Just get over it! Maybe thats what he wanted or thats all he could get. I don't understand why all of you need to go around bagging on other peoples likes. I know this kid and he absolutely loves his car. You do understand until you try it. No more need to be ignorant and get over it.
This is the mindset everyone should have
You’re a really nice guy. Thanks for being a good guy.
Ryan Bledsoe we need u in car community make a great leader
I want a WRX automatic, where do I get one?
Brent Lebrun Subaru
CVT is actually very nice. Esp if u drive most of the time within city (no hassle changin gears), everyone in ur family can drive just in case. In I-Mode on highways it can get decent fuel economy and finally CVT gives better track times than manual.
Agreed. Cvt is the superior automatic. More reliable, durable and lasts longer too. Cvt is the only non-manual that I think has a place in the world of tech. Dsg and tred autos (normal ats) are simply inferior tech. It's even used in hypercars for christs sake
@@onbekendetelefoon2045 I have yet to see a hypercar with a cvt. I'm not arguing I'm just curious which hypercars have them.
@@lclnbm no hyper car lol
@@PlumberWRX i thought so
@@no1washerezz Keep shifting gears in bumper to bumper traffic is very retarded thing and no fun about it.
Everyone gives a fuck about fuel economy that's why Subaru gave CVT option in WRX. Retarded people think they are smarter than Subaru engineers lol
I won't hate on any Subie.. Like what you like. Drive what you like. Everyone has different tastes. I personally like the rumble of the unequal length headers but that's my preference. I don't think everyone should have the same thing as everyone else.
Nothing wrong with a corolla, i actually dont mind the automatic wrx looks nice, sounds nice, and goes fast.
I used to think the corolla thing too, but I feel like I was just going with the crowd, but it's honestly my favorite now and I'm obsessed with it. The front end looks so mean imo.
i love this wrx cvt and I'm currently saving for it. it's so much more practical for someone that sits in traffic daily like I do.
Shannon Lashus You don't need a wrx just get a civic
u ca sit on my face instead of sitting in traffic tho
What is wrong with manuals in traffic? If you're sitting in literal bumper to bumper/stop and go traffic, there's either a wreck or your commute is truly overpacked, meaning you might even want to take public transportation, or get something with better gas milage. If you're not tailgating and you know how to shift properly, driving manual in traffic is a fabricated problem
@@rafvierthstein5210 facts lol
@@sweatyben1550 it's for the convenience chill dude
To each their own. I had considered this as an option because my gf doesn't drive stick, right until I seen a review of the CVT. If it were a dual clutch or even something comparable to a ZF gearbox then I would consider it. Manual>Dual clutch>Auto>Bicycle>CVT

Honestly. Manual purists are just insecure. Obviously manuals are more fun to drive, even my 04 Golf is super fun to drive and it’s slow. But automatics aren’t bad and can be fun. CVTs can be fun. They just don’t want to hear the truth
I have the 2015 WRX auto. I enjoy it every time I drive it. Is manual more fun, of course it is. However this car is fun too
Agree, I love mine. It's no slouch what so ever. All the haters can suck a dick.
I have the 2016 wrx and it's really fun to drive especially with the new suspension update this year
+Renzo Ortega It's not fun, I've driven the shit out of both a CVT and 6-speed WRX... I guarantee you the CVT is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT fun!
+Renzo Ortega same here car still fast there literally hardly any difference in times to manual cbf shifting in traffic daily i drive to work in it
I am debating trading in my 13' Speed 3 in for a wrx considering the CVT so my wife and daughter (will be driving soon) can use.As it sits know my car sits at home and no one else can drive it. Not sure what to do. How does it drive in sport mode? Also what MPG are you getting? Thanks in advance.
My best friend has the 15 WRX with the CVT and I can say it is no slouch... People will hate on it just because its a subaru wrx without a manual, let me tell you that this thing will put down power and a lot better than a manual can as you don't need to shift whatsoever therefore eliminating the pause between changes. The way this thing puts down power is incredible! And it Everybody comparing this CVT to others from completely different cars and haven't driven one haven't got a clue. I feel like subaru made a great choice by putting this in the WRX.
I have to say, I completely agree with what you said. It's the best explanation I've read anywhere. I have a 2018, and Sport mode is no joke, it's gets better from there.
I feel bad for TJ, that the comments on most of his videos are asinine garbage/trolling. I mean, you're all arguing about transmissions. People will buy what they want to buy, and the inane drivel on here won't change minds. Do any of you really care what other people spend their money on? Go outside. Read a book. Date someone. Jesus.
I know its 3 years later but i've been trying to text Jesus but he won't return my messages. Sorry, im slowly becoming old enough that dad jokes are funny to me now
And yes i just picked up a 15 wrx cvt and it's a blast to drive, even to the market
hallelujah!
Corolla my ass lol. The people hating on this thing either cant afford one or are mad they didnt get one. This car looks literally nothing like a fucking Corolla.
Good point. People say the new Camaro looks like Corolla. And the new mustang looks like a fusion.
+gnarkilleptic They call it a Corolla because it's a CVT. And they're kinda right. A CVT WRX is completely pointless, just buy a base Impreza hatch if you wanna be gay.
+gnarkilleptic When I saw the WRX in person for the first time at first I thought it was a Corolla. Then I went online and notice that other people had the same observations that I had. And that was without me being influenced by anyone's else opinion. Therefore It literally looks like a fucking Corolla.
bJulius86 If you thought it was a Corolla then you dont know shit about cars... or your ass from a hole in the ground
gnarkilleptic
listen here you little fuck, I know more about cars than the shit that flows from both your ass and your mouth combined. Like I said, "when I saw it for the first time." I t looks like a corolla at first glance. I wasn't staring at it in a parking lot for 5mins coming to the conclusion that its a Corolla. It has the same body style as a corolla if you can't admit that than you are blind.
If your someone who works far away and deal with rush hour traffic, Automatic CVT is for you. If you work close to home, then manual is for you...
But it's up to how you want it...
Regardless it’s still a 4 cylinder turbo, still have turbo lag no matter which option.
Why did you review a corolla with a wing?
because rallycar
+Marty Mcfly Williams lmao
The only Subaru that even remotely looks like a corolla is the legacy. Save yourself the ignorance and stop making invalid comparisons.
+Mina Eftekhari #Butthurt
+Marty Mcfly Williams You must be blind or just havent seen one in person
I don't care that it's an automatic that's right I said it
Sounds like the clutch is slipping lol
you need to double or triple click down shift to get into peak performance and when you hit 35-40 punch it to neutral while your foot's off the accel, then before you shift back into S drive, in unison shift into S while clicking down shift into 1st gear and pressing the gas. You'll enjoy the explosive power of the Cvt trans kicking into peak ratio. Cross your fingers boost doesn't over pressure the engine.
I have a 2016 wrx cvt full bolt ons with a pro tune .. 289 whp and 278ft ... you can go more but is not safe for your transmission if you wanna go more than 300whp you will need a torque converter and a cooling system for ya tranny 😊 I’m happy with 289whp quick enough to have fun ❤️
My wife got a Civic lease so I drive her 2003 WRX automatic. My 04 STi gives me my 6 speed fix , but the WRX auto is great for traffic commuting. The auto 4EAT is ok unless you want to see RPM for boost. The auto is confused until it has a 100% throttle and it will go to redline but short burst of boost usually end up in an early up shift ending your run. That's why it's hard to beat a perfectly executed rev match downshift on an STi 6 speed .
Theoretically, wouldn't a CVT that continuously upshifts while keeping the RPMs at the peak horsepower the fastest way to go?
Yeah, like Koenigsegg with its single “gear” torque converter
I have a 2016 WRX CVT for my daily
I keep my manual transmission cars for the weekend
All in all, the CVT WRX, in my opinion, is a fun daily driver, it's "practical" enough for me at least
Wing adds character. I like it.
To me, it seems like the one enthusiast thing good about it, is that it doesn't lose boost between "gears".
I'm reading some reviews on here and I must say I can't talk horrible about my 2015 WRX CVT. If your plans are to keep it stock yeah it will lack power. Performed a Dyno @ one of the COBB locations. Stock was getting 221HP to the wheels. After 5,500 worth of performance parts upgrades it's getting 375HP to the wheels. Yes it's an automatic, was it worth it. YES.
How was the reliability after so many mods? I may be getting this car and I wouldn’t wanna keep it stock
@@moosaquadri1829 I kept my WRX for 3 years after the mods. Traded it because I needed something bigger. But on long trims I was getting 40 mpgs and I did take a picture of that.
@@elflacosucio how many miles or kilometres do u have on the clock
I traded my vehicle at 37k miles.
Automatics in sports cars aren't bad, CVTs though, are bad, unless you're in an economy car. When something is supposed to be fun to drive, having a gearbox that can't decide what it wants to do really hinders how fun it can be.
I have the facelifted version, and the only time that the transmission seems unsure of itself is when you go from light driving to extremely aggressive driving. In that situation, though, you probably would also want to use the available paddles for more control and engine braking.
Amsoil 100% CVT Fluid can make the CVT WRX run better than OEM Subaru CVT Fluid.
Cobb's Stage 1 tune for the CVT is actually fastest in sport mode. The sport sharp mode is just for the 8 gear simulated transmission. I keep my Stage 1 CVT in paddle shifter and sport mode most of the time. It keeps up with my brothers stage 2 2015 STI
A damn near 40 grand car deserves better interior!
Just get a used one. No really, not sure about the US but their used value is actually pretty good

Did I hear well? A WRX with a CVT transmission? I own a Civic Sport Touring and people make fun of me cause it has a CVT. The car has decent boost and Im happy with it.
I appreciate the effort you put in into your videos! Keep it up
I got the 2017 Cvt Amazing car no complaints , beautiful all around . Happy I chose Cvt over manual especially living in Houston
my WRX is an auto and its fine, handled mods perfectly fine as well-drives great.
as a cvt owner, if u want to do no mods and just want something thats quick (but cant mod) get the CBT, If u want something that your going to mod get the manual. if u add any performance mods onto the CVT it will 1 void your warrenty, 2 decrease the life of your CVT significantly. with wrx CVT that has no mods, if you drive like a grandma the CVT should last at least 50k miles, but if you drive it like a sports car the transmission will last around 20k-30k miles. my CVT has 23k miles on it and im going to have to replace it this summer. It is very commonn for the CVT to fail too. i had a friend that got one and after 3k miles of driving it the CVT failed. also with out the warrenty a brand new wrx CVT costs around 10k USD.
holy fucking shit hell no that means this car is a piece of shit then just get a golf gti instead tf

+Garrett Martin Did you even watch the video?
+BasedNeel I have ants in my eyes
Christopher Millington He hasn't heard anything bad about the CVT in THIS specific car. Read some reviews on the WRX CVT. I test drove it before I ended up buying my current car, it's just like a normal transmission.
CVT in economy cars is another story. Those are the terrible ones.
It has synthesized "gears" to make it seem and feel more like a normal automatic. A lot of car manufacturers do it.
It doesn’t matter if you have an automatic, as long as you’re happy with your car and takes you to places
Man I love the WRX and I don't know how to drive manual transmission and I will learn but being in NYC this would kill me to have manual. I think while yes you lose some of the finer control its well worth it in the long run if you live in a place with lots of traffic.
This is how I look at it: The worst case scenario with an auto would be you *might* have slightly less fun on some backroads but the worst case scenario with a manual is it's going to be a really big pain in the ass in traffic. So potential pain in the ass vs potentially having a little less fun (but still having fun). I don't think you can go wrong with an auto.
Man I wish subaru would add vented seats and throw in a nicer looking infotainment system. This would be the absolute ultimate car.
I had a 2012 Subaru Legacy and I can tell you that CVT trans SUCKED! I only had the car a little over a year because it was so bad.
I'm not saying I prefer the CVT but for someone who really does not want a stick, I really don't think it's a horrible option
+Blake's Garage Subaru has improved their CVT a lot since 2012. For the most part they are now programmed to shift like automatics.
symawd Yeah I know they have done a lot to make the experience better. I didn't mind the one I had at first. But it became very annoying and one of the major things I hated about the car besides the rattles.
+Tj Hunt DCT would have drastically increase the price though!
Tj Hunt Yeah but Mitsubishi did it so why not Subaru?
My 2015 WRX CVT is Stage 2 pro tuned and I always drive with paddles. I really enjoy it with exception of flooring it from a standstill. Floored from a standstill it pretty much ignores your shifting and the computer takes over.
dat subaru bro! sounds like a proper honda to me :D
Looked up videos of WRX vs mustangs and stumbled upon this gem. I had NO idea Teej did review videos!??
Unpopular opinion. Autos can be just as fun as manuals
For the most fun with the CVT WRX you really need to be in Manual mode and use the paddle shifters. I really don't like Sport# (8 gears is too many). For daily driving with some fun, Sport is better than S#. But #1 is Manual mode with the paddle shifters. Would I have paid more for a dual clutch as opposed to CVT? Hell yes. Do I wish the gearing in Sport and S# was more aggressive? Again hell yes. Manual mode is a hell of a blast though - love the car. Saying that if they made a dual clutch STi, I would place my order tomorrow.
+Paul Fairchild true, I own the cvt wrx and and the paddle shifters are fun.
there is nothing wrong with an automatic all though a cvt is the worng choice it should be a twin clutch 8 speed
Subaru isn't as rich as Ferrari, McLaren or Mercedes. Developing a DSG would make them go the way of Mitsubishi.
Test drove one and it’s amazing. Two twelves in the trunk. Stage one. I’m a happy camper
hows it held up?

If they have to have an automatic version of this car, they should pull out the CVT and put in a double clutch.
In these days of fun manuals being difficult to find I'm happy that Subaru still offer a choice. I bought the manual but if my leg was missing an auto would have been ok.

not a fan of a automatic in any sports car. but wrx sucks? doubt that's even possible
real sport car only comes in auto wtf are u saying??? only wanna be sports cars comes in manual.............even nissan gtr come in auto and thats not even a real sports cars........a type r is just a civic with a big wing not sport car, a sti is only a impreza with big wing, not true sport car...........i can keep going on forever.
People will be hating on WRX w/ CVT but can't even afford one. It is a good daily driving car especially in Canada where there's a lot of snow in the winter and a lot of stop lights/signs everywhere. No need to change gears.
what did this cvt have in performance mods? ive been looking everywhere, is there a hp/torque max for the cvt? does it hold atleast 350HP with no problems? thank you
Memos1000 heard around 320 would be the max
The 2015+ WRX is actually rated at 268 HP bone stock. With a "good" tune with bolt ons should put you well past a 10hp increase. Just wanted to clarify.
I wonder how long the CVT will last
Longer than your band.
I drove an auto wrx. not going to lie it was pretty amazing
working for subaru, I can assure you, the cvt is atrocious. it's laggy, lazy and the "simulated 7 step CVT" Doesn't react the way you want it to ever.
You just need to know how to dive it. I can hold 5500 to 6000 thru all gears. It gives you constant boost and that give you a edge. This car if it had 600whp you would love it. 270 chp is really only lile 250whp. Cvt trans are awesome if you know how to use it
I Miss the rumble! Good video TJ! Congrats on 40k bro, keep it up!
full bolt ons and tun only give it 10hp? or is it 260 hp and 270 whp? Those boxer engines are crap for extracting power without going big turbo or SC. My ecoboost picks up like 100 TQ and like 40hp from tune, intake but doesn't sound as good as a subaru for sure
100 torque off an intake and tune? or did you mean 10
+semiautoriflelover1 .yup 100 is a very far stretch even for just a tune
***** intakes don't give much power untuned. tuned, they make a significant difference.
***** that's not the point. Even if what you said were true, it's harder to gain more power from a boxer engine. please stop fanboying as clearly I am stating an observation which is true. I still think the boxer engine (wrx and brz) sound freaking awesome and wish my EB mustang sounded that good and deep
Joeker k yes 100 tq from tune and intake. mostly tune. google unleashed tuning or tune+. it's easy to extract power from the EB platform.
TJ, love that remix song and your video editing in the beginning where you flashed between different pictures in cadence with the keyboard. Nice work buddy.
cvt? and gears wat
The CVT simulates gears
My wife has one, and she loves it. I myself am an Evo owner, and I actually really like it myself.
How the fuck can you switch gears on a CVT ?
Paddles
They are "simulated" gears
+wordiestdata It just goes on and on and on... lol. Im always waiting for the shift that will never come.
CVTs dont have gears. its just a pully system that has basically an infinite number of gear ratios ranging from peak torque to peak speed, and having a neutral ratio. Although CVTs physically dont have gears they are still infact gear ratios, and when you put it into the S# mode to use the flappy paddle shifters the car just knows what gear ratios to use dependent on the "gear" you chose. i do believe the set gear ratios are supposed to mimic the gear ratios found in the 5 speed manual varient. simulated gears never feel the same, but CVTs are actually faster, and more fuel efficient than manuals.
That has to be the dumbest shit ever invented. If anyone tells me their CVT is a manual because of the paddles....fuck
CVTs are not meant to handle High torque loads. This car will be replacing the CVT shortly and since it's modded so much it won't be by warranty.
When is the 6 speed swap video comi g out
I’m here a year later still dreaming of myself hearing this
Ummmm, it's a CVT. There is no way I would like that transmission in any performance capacity. My maxima has a CVT and for daily driving it is fine but that's it. If I buy a WRX it will have a 6 speed. To me a CVT is a step below a conventional automatic transmission.
They're actually banned from f1 because they can keep the engine right in the peak power forever. Theoretically, it'll accelerate the fastest.
+Heel Toe Almost without fail every time I criticize the CVT I have someone bring up the F1 ban. These are not F1 cars and they are not F1 CVTs. Grab your CVT WRX and I'll grab a 6 speed and lets go battle at Willow or Thunder Hill or where ever. When it comes to performance the CVT is a loser. If daily driving it's all good.
Mark Carruthers I'm not saying they're good for a road car. As I said, in theory, they can produce the fastest acceleration. I hate cvt's, but I think many people think they are terrible and can be good for performance, which in't the case.
+Mark Carruthers in real world driving the cvt is just a quick point to point as the manual... Even on a track unless you pull off consistently good shifts your not getting that far ahead of the cvt. It's also much more responsive than a typical auto... you'll only know that if you drive it.
+NaMeanY0Jalapeno24x7 I'm not talking about a drag race, I'm talking about a road course.
The CVT WRX isn't so bad...you're always at the powerband, which is a good thing.
you've heard nothing but good things about CVT transmissions? i don't even think i've heard a non car enthusiasts say good things about it... hell my mom complains about it on her CRV
Lol, before talking shit about the CVT in the wrx, just test it for yourself!
I drive a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5 S with a CVT, and I can definitely tell you that when you want that quick torque when you shower down on the gas, you just don't get it with a CVT. I also can't stand the high pitched whine it gives as if it's stuck in gear or something. I'd much rather prefer a good V6 or V8 DOHC over a CVT.
Still blows my mind that people buy auto WRXs
+WarmSoftKitty I'm running 12.6 on a tuned manual, not the fastest car in the world but I don't know if the cvt will survive my power level for long. Also, I had the tq lowered to protect my rods. 342whp/328wtq on a Mustang Dyno.
Still blows my mind that people don't understand that not EVERYONE knows how to drive manual, and not EVERYONE wants to drive manual when their commute involves stop and go traffic every single day.
WarmSoftKitty I know this is over a year old but my god youre dumb. Mustang dyno is one of two of the biggest dyno companies
I would...... I mean, I love manuals more than autos but I just can't stand driving one in traffic. Plus, I daily my WRX CVT and it's less hassle. Not everyone is after power and speed all the way. Some want it with a touch of... well, less hassle.
@@thecnote1287 thank-you! Toronto city traffic sucks!
Thanks to parascope tj hunt said kalethesalad so today is a very good day. Thanks tj your one of my favorite youtubers
don't buy this car if you're gonna get it auto..... You'd be better off getting the evo mr.
***** bro the price difference is like 6k?
+Prime Aestheticx MR's are nearly 50k now.
+Penalyze where are you from their like 34k
+Juice Ortiz MR's (with the dual clutch auto, start at about $39k, more comparable with STI's than WRX's, but still, not 50k like he thinks!
***** yah but since they discontinued the evo it might be a little cheaper especially if you can get one in low miles.
Intro was sick. Good shit TJ
A "performance" car that looks like a cheap compact? What the heck is wrong with those clowns at Subaru???
If I were Subaru I'd put a optional double clutch transmission in the Wrx, legacy and levorg.... A classic Zf 8 speed in the Outback and forester
auto is better...road head
13 wrx wagon is the best looking one yet in my opinion
