As someone who has Psoriasis (and a heart defect), I've had my share of injections. It took me years before I realized that seeing the needles is what's causing me to feel faint or dizzy. I just assumed it was due to being dehydrated or hungry (fasting blood work). I also assumed that as long as I don't look at the needle going into MY arm, I'm fine. Nope, I can't look at other people getting injected either. So now I just look away (usually at the ceiling lol) and I'm fine.

I literally had to wear a mask 24/7 even while I was asleep when my son was in the icu for 5 days after he had open heart surgery. She mentioned both a lung condition and sensory issues. It's really hard for those of us who don't deal with hypersensitivity to understand why she couldn't wear the mask. But there are people for whom certain sensations are intolerable. Imagine having that annoying tag in your shirt bugging you but only 100 times worse. I hope your son is doing well now.

I understand everyone is different, but if she really couldn’t do it, she should have sent someone who could to go with her. Also if she does have a lung condition, she’s the exact type of person that needs to wear one. If she would go to the end of the earth to help her, she sure has a funny way of showing it.

I really feel for your girl and implore you to try the carnivore diet!! It has changed my life, but took almost 40 years to figure out. Start with just beef, salt, and water and then add a food at a time after a month. Give each singular new food a minimum of one week before trying another. You can find more info online about psoriasis and this diet. I wish so much that I had known this was an option at her age even though it would have been hard to follow as a child. Good luck and God bless.

Okay. This issue isn’t so black and white as so many people want to make it out to be. A lot of people couldn’t wear masks back in 2020 and 2021 without compromising their mental health. For instance, a lot of people who have severe anxiety and are prone to panic attacks feel the claustrophobia of wearing a mask and it triggers that for them. A lot of people who have breathing issues and asthma had a very hard time with this too but did the best they could. So to say she has “mental issues” because she doesn’t want a wear a mask is not okay and judge mental. she has reasons for it and it’s not just to be a pain in the ass, so it’s not as black-and-white. Dr. Lee was also very professional and came up with an amazing solution and a very generous solution in making sure she treated the patient with sanitation and propriety at the forefront and in the proper place, but also making sure her mother could be there. That time was really hard for everyone who had different reasons why it was very hard to wear masks and Dr. Lee it was so gracious and making sure that everyone stay protected but mom was still able to be there with her daughter which is very important.
Before judging anybody, please take a moment to just listen to them and hear things from their point of view. People don’t just throw out assumptions most of the time without having a reason behind them. Hear what people have to say and don’t make such a rash comments. We all got there with the best we could

Does she need the injection for the rest of her life and what's the side effect of long term use of this medication. I am concerned because my son is taking high dosage of Cycosplorine daily for severe crippling eczema (whole body burning, oozing, flaking, inflamed, inching skin accompanied by infection) the last 12 months and was warned about kidney failure in the long run. If this injection is the new treatment, I would like my son to find out more, in the hope that he can have a normal work and social again. I think in this case it is one of the rare cases that the mother is legitimate about not wearing a mask. There are some lung diseases which make it really hard to wear a mask. Together with maybe anxiety it could lead to a panic attack.
Its because of all the Karens that people who seriously suffer are shamed for not wearing a mask.

Also she is the most vulnerable because she is not wearing a mask... right? Those wearing a mask are worried about what? After a surgery where I nearly suffocated in the prep room because they put a mask on me and forgot to turn on the machine or whatever it is that gives you oxygen, I had severe anxiety or panik attacks in the first half a year of corona, when I had to put on a mask (I later overcame my anxiety). I tried to avoid masks whenever it was possible, sending my husband to get groceries and stuff. I still would never put others in danger and not wear an appropriate mask if I had to go myself. I had to wear a really thick one when my little girl had to have a piece of wood removed from her foot. I was fighting anxienty and the urge to rip the mask off for the whole 90min surgery. Still I would have never let her go alone. I was telling her stories all 90min long and keeping her to be as still as possible. Was it easy? No. Was it neccessary? Yes. Maybe, if you look at it in a different way, this mother was expecting some kind of confrontation, because that’s a remnant of PTSD from her own childhood - as in, that’s the environment she grew up in, always having to expect that a parent or someone else close to her would create a toxic situation by anything she said or any boundary she tried to set for herself and her own mental/physical/emotional health. And so it comes across in a certain way to people watching and listening to her in this video, but is in fact something she cannot control: it’s embedded in her history, and she can’t avoid communicating in this way, because it was the only way she could cope growing up (assuming it happened in childhood). What I’m really saying is don’t just assume it’s one thing when it could be another. She may not even realise it, but she’s functioning in whatever way is normal to her. We don’t know her history, no one truly knows another’s history, but I’m just putting it out there as a suggestion for why the mother might seem a bit strange. It’s also possible the mother had traumatic medical experiences in childhood, in which she expected a confrontation (or a toxic situation occurred because of anything she might have said), which would be a valid reason for having PTSD and acting in a certain way when in a medical facility. It’s easy for people to judge a situation quickly and assume the worst of a person’s behaviour without considering other factors, which are unknown to you (generally speaking).

I feel for both of you and understand exactly what you mean. I was misdiagnosed with ezcema from the age of 10 that was actually psoriasis. I am in the middle of a flair up that has been the worst I have ever experienced. It really messes with your self esteem and I have cried quite a few times since finding out. It just keeps spreading even though I have been using topical medication. Thankfully I have a wonderful dermatologist that I will be going back to see very soon.

Exactly!!!! I have psoriasis on the back of my head and really bad dermatitis on the rest of my head.. and everyone says I'm gross, I need to shower, I have lice, etc. When will people realize it's a genetic thing and not a hygiene thing???
