  • I will show you two ways to create a rosette. The first being how to make one without a scoring board. The second with a scoring board. I hope you will give these a try. They are addictive once you know you to make them.

    Thanks for the nice tips! A third way to make them is to eye ball the folds. I've done it by cutting my strips and deciding on how wide to make my first fold. Once I fold that first flap, I just fold, back and forth, the remaining folds using the previous fold as a template. The V folds may not all be perfectly sized to each other but it works. Once I made my rosettes they looked fine. I would just be careful to try and make my folds as consistent as possible. If they are too inconsistent, you will be gluing the paper circle to an uneven center, which could make it lean slightly to one side.

    Thanks Valerie! I haven't made these before and your post has the best instructions I've seen. Looking forward to starting my first rosette!

      Thank you. I made this video because there wasn't one that was very good out there. Especially if you don't have a score board. 😀

    Thank you for this!!!! Need like a million (lol) of these for my daughter's 4th birthday. Had no idea where to begin. Looks like I'll be able to get enough made now before the party.

    What is the name of the glue for attaching one strip of cardstock to another? Thank You.

      Thanks for the question Connie. I used Art Glitter Glue here because it dries exceptionally fast. You can certainly use any glue you like and just use a clip to hold it in place until it dries completely. Aleene's Tacky Glue, or Elmer's GlueAll are 2 really good glues to use as well.

    Can you let me know what kind of paper that is and the paper weight, please?

    • @valerieoliver4957
      @valerieoliver4957  2 года назад +1

      I don't know the weight, but it is just regular scrapbook cardstock. Not just the thin scrap paper. But it isn't super thick either. However, if you are careful in your scoring, you can use any weight paper.

    If I wanted 10 inch rosettes what is the way to do them

    • @valerieoliver4957
      @valerieoliver4957  2 года назад

      The larger the rosette, the greater number of papers you will have to put together. I would also make the scores at 1" or 1.5". Your paper width will have to be about 5". Thanks for the question. :)

    I love making rosettes. They are so much fun to use in projects. Where did you get your glue gun? I'm envious of the fine tip. Mine just pours out because it's a larger tip. I'm really enjoying your videos. Thank you for sharing.

      I actually got it as a Christmas gift last year from my brother. He found it at Michael's craft store. It is a "hot" temp gun too. So be careful if you get one. I have burned myself and a blister comes up every time...LOLOL
