    Considering the state of his hooves, he may not have been able to lay down or roll for quite a long time. That he can now do these things, indicates to me that he has turned a corner and feels very much better in himself as he feels that his hooves are now comfortable enough to put pressure on them that would be needed to stand up again🐴🐎🐴

      EXACTLY!!! Those are such normal horse functions and he was not able to do them so we were especially excited to see him do both!! 🫶🏼

    He probably is able to be at peace and rest after such a stressful and horrible life. He know is at a his safe place, a place where he is receiving excellent and tender care. So good to see him be happy! He is on his journey to health and a new good life!

    When you live with pain, stress, and suffering for as long as he has---when you're finally safe, then you can let down your guard and allow your body to sleep. Sleep = healing. And, I'm sure the quiet time in the sun is helping.

    He is so aptly named since BOAZ means 'strength'. He must have so much inner strength to have managed with the overgrown, cracked and severly infected feet. As i recall, you even found an embeded nail in one of them. 😢

      @8ERescueRanch  5 месяцев назад

      We hadn’t look up the meaning of BOAZ but just knew in our hearts it fit him! Thank you for sharing that!!
      Yes, an entire nail in the sole of his hoof! 😟

    What are the general rules for quarantine? He seems so peaceful with you all. He must already know he can trust you.

    • @8ERescueRanch
      @8ERescueRanch  5 месяцев назад +1

      We keep 2 quarantine areas. One larger for 2 or more horses. One smaller for 1 horse. We make sure to disinfect these areas often and between rescues. If a horse shows any signs of acute illness we keep in quarantine for 30 days or until they are well. No signs of illness we start to introduce them to others in 14-16 days. Boaz has had two different types of antibiotics so we are letting him explore more than usual.

    he looks like he has jet lag. when I travel on the third day it hits me and I just have to lay down. who knows where he came from and if he was trailered a long distance. I saw a vet on yt talk about using cbd oil on tumors combined with dmso to get rid of them. He could probably use some dmso on his joints and ligaments to ease pain with his rebalanced hooves.
