Wait, he brought up Muv-Luv without mentioning those sadistic first two episodes? The problem with that anime is the FANSERVICE? Motherfucker I was all over the fanservice, but after watching those girls get eaten up-front like that, I couldn't trust this show long enough to finish it. I think I read the director or whomever was in charge of those episodes was replaced for just that reason, due to it being too dark and gory, though I dunno for sure. If you don't like gore, or watching people beg for someone to kill them while they slowly get their intestines eaten, steer clear of the first two episodes or whatever before the time-skip, you'll thank me......actually you probably won't unless you go back and watch those, but you'll find out if you don't.
If you combined all of the "Fan Service" moment of Muv-Luv together, I'd be enormously surprise if it equalled more than 1 - 2 minutes max. And thats both seasons together. Ranma ½, Evangelion, or Sailor moon had way more "Fan Service" that Muv-Luv ever did.
I really like the show but you're right, I always start at episode 3 because the first 2 will definitely make you want to Kevorkian yourself. I was super pissed when they didn't do a dub of the remake.
I wouldn't bother doing the time skipping, it takes away the history of the conflict. And besides, you have to be pretty wussy if that little bit of darkness and gore was "too much" for you to handle. There's lots of anime out there that's WAA-AAY worse than Muv-Luv. These anime choices are a little to safe, weird, and off the cuff lol. I've seen most of them and only a few I consider "good". And the content for the most part is pretty tame to most general American audiences. Unless your family and roommates are prudes. Only anime on this list that you definitely don't want to watch in public outside is Perfect Blue. One scene in particular is pretty graphic.
I know it's not mainstream but You're Being Summoned, Azazel should've been top of the list, it made me laugh so hard people started looking at me weird
Made in Abyss is definitely one. Beautifully drawn and animated but it can get dark, violent, and has quite a bit a nudity. Especially since the main characters are children.
Who watches in public alone anyway? I admit I did watch in public multiple times but not alone, with a group of school friends in highschool around 2012-2013 where internet is scarce and youtube is the go to with very lenient copywrite rules. We watched Highschool DXD, etc,. (ecchi ones) in a unofficial club room with an unofficial club in a abandoned (no one uses) school room in my feature phone that can play videos. 😂
Reminds me of the time my little brother and I were watching Ninja Scroll for the umpteenth time and our dad happens to walk in during _that_ scene. If you've seen the movie, you know which one. It's probably the one scene in the movie that is inappropriate because of something other than hyperviolence (which probably would have been fine).
Umm... why Is a nice, family friendly show like Goblin Slayer doing on this list? Jk... still, not THAT bad, And as long as no children are around its fine to watch in public. Saying it's not is like saying Overlord shouldn't be watched in public. Nothing wrong with princess jellyfish though. I actually watched it WITH my sister... we laughed. Hard. Now, you want a GREAT Anime you shouldn't watch in public? Interspecies Reviewers.
No Elfen Lied, No 7 Mortal Sins, No Queen's Blade, No Berserk, No Junji Ito Maniac, No To Love Ru, No High School DxD? Something seems off with this list.
I'd have to say Attack on Titan should make one of these list for the graphic violence and death. It was great but for a guy who grew up watching 80's action flicks even I found it hard to watch.
goblin slayer episode one.... guy gets killed, woman get r***** , goblin baby's killed etc.... after the first episode i had to take a breather and think about what in the actual F was going and on happened lol....
It still has scenes that you don't want someone to walk in on you and take out of context. Like the rape scene that looks real until you see that it's a movie set. Many other scenes that blur reality and what goes on in the mind of the protagonist.
@Yngvarfo It's available in other places, not just HBO. I wouldn't care if someone walked in whilst I was watching either thing. They'd either say nothing or ask what it was, and I'd explain. The "teaching the kids" scene in Poor Things is harder to explain and that's on Disney-
@@Mark_Something-Ermm-Yeah Disney+ has content warnings and shows blocked for viewers under 18, same as everybody else. The days where Disney automatically meant family friendly are long past.
Muv Luv, really? I think the Muv Luv Schwartzmarken was a bit more darker than Total Eclipse was. Yes, I've watched Muv Luv, Cross Ange too. What mecha fan wouldn't?
If you have to hide what you watch, then that says more about you than the series. I mean i watched every episode of GoMG in my living room even when others were in the house.
Goblin Slayer gets a lot more tame on season 2. Seitokai Yakuin Domo is fun only if you're like 15 - it's nothing but segs jokes, and, unlike Shimoneta, it gets old fast. Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete is very recent, very saucy, and has the best written dominatrix and villainess I've ever laid eyes on. Redo of Healer is *everything* Shield hero should've been and wasn't - a story of proper revenge done by an actual mad genius. Throughoutly recommended. I'd say so even if all the adult scenes were removed (save for episode 2's, which are the best, and actually move the plot forward). To Love Ru is good (albeit a bit cheap) ecchi at first, but as soon as Momo busts the doors open and Yami gains relevance, it becomes a masterpiece. Rias Gremory is arguably the hottest anime woman to ever exist, so for her alone, I also ought to reccommend High School DXD

1931 sounds interesting. It's a very unusual historical setting.
04:38 damn it worst way to kill the mod 😅
2 that deserve a spot are:
Elfein Lied is dark & gory where you see the Darkside of humans.
Gantz also for the nudity & violence.
Is it called grand blue dreaming
I expected to see Kite, but not even a comment.
"Don't get your hopes up cause none of this is going to happen to you!"
Pain.
well yea thats anime not real life
And what about the Prison school. This anime is like 🤫🫣🥴
I made a big mistake watching number 10 on the TTC full volume when I realized it was to late 😭
The fan service is the best part of anime. Let the west be the west and let the east be the east. All cultures are not made the same!
What if I told you that I watched Heavens Lost Property on my laptop with the bois during lunch break in high school. Very much in public.
I’ve watched horror anime, but the monster doctor was too creepy for me to finish 😅
muv-luv looks like gundam but with less drama and more waifu! XD
Bro literary said watch with someone you found on road
Everyday life with Monster Girls? How not to summon a Demon Lord? Overlord?
Ah, Cross Ange... thanks for reminding me I need to watch this
Monster Musume No Oishasan : "Can I copy your homework?"
Monster Musume No Iru Nichijou : "Sure, but change it a bit so it doesn't look obvious"
Thumbnail anime??
It’s on the description
No Elfen Lied, No 7 Mortal Sins, No Queen's Blade, No Berserk, No Junji Ito Maniac, No To Love Ru, No High School DxD?
Something seems off with this list.
What did I learn? If the title contains the color blue: watch alone.
I'd have to say Attack on Titan should make one of these list for the graphic violence and death. It was great but for a guy who grew up watching 80's action flicks even I found it hard to watch.
Monster doctor was tame when compared to inter species reviewers.
You're pretty much comparing apples to oranges.
I watch anime in public, regardless of genre. If someone gets offended they need to quit looking over my shoulder
Based!
100% agree ;-)
Crying Freeman is not your typical Saturday morning cartoon.
No mention of high school DxD
Wasn't Muv Luv: Alternative based on a game?
Perfect Blue is not easy to comprehend for the type of generation watching the "modern" animes...sry!
goblin slayer episode one.... guy gets killed, woman get r***** , goblin baby's killed etc.... after the first episode i had to take a breather and think about what in the actual F was going and on happened lol....
Surprised Prison School isn't on this list
Woah woah, Boxxo didn't ask for it😂
I think you're wrong about Perfect Blue, It's a good movie and no worse than many things on TV these days.
It still has scenes that you don't want someone to walk in on you and take out of context. Like the rape scene that looks real until you see that it's a movie set. Many other scenes that blur reality and what goes on in the mind of the protagonist.
@Yngvarfo have you not seen Game of Thrones?, you get worse on standard TV these days.
@@Mark_Something-Ermm-Yeah Game of Thrones is HBO, and definitely not standard family fare.
Jokes on you. I always watch Seitokai Yakuindomo outside and people gets confused on why I bawl out laughing.
Or 4, you inflict damage every round and it gains hit points and even it's C.R. goes up!
Sad thing is I only watched Monster Girl Doctor.
Everyone is talking up Seitokai Yakuindomo and I really want to watch it now, but it is not on Cruchy Roll!!
It's on HIdive
why do all childhood friends have to be so violent in anime
7:15 - “stoik” … did you mean sto·ic /ˈstōik/
For fantasy it's Shield Hero for me or Berserk.
These are the anime you can’t watch with other people, even though they are watching the same show.
Seitokai Yakuindomo is not echhi but inideed one of the greatest comedy
Looking at you Pet Girl of Sakurasou and How Not To Summon a Demon Lord
Bible Black
Edit: knew cross ange was gonna be on here.
i can think of several that would be better examples than some of the ones on this list.
Muv Luv, really? I think the Muv Luv Schwartzmarken was a bit more darker than Total Eclipse was.
Yes, I've watched Muv Luv, Cross Ange too. What mecha fan wouldn't?
Prison School. Oh, and Golden Boy.
Word
"Now, don't get your hopes up, cus none o' this is gonna happen to you!" 😅
Foul! Unnecessary Roughness! Step 15 yards back!! 😂🎉😂
If you have to hide what you watch, then that says more about you than the series.
I mean i watched every episode of GoMG in my living room even when others were in the house.
Golden Boy came to mind for this list
Just watch Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, with anyone around, and wait for the looks that you'd get.
You can watch these all if your sister is Yuki Suou
