Ms T You will learn! (My daughter is not mixed her father and I are black) I just learned how to box braid my 10 year olds hair in box braids a few months ago because as she got older the styles got more expensive at the salon. I watched several videos and finally bought some pre-stretched braiding hair. I had to make it work for me, but I braided her hair for the 3rd time a few days ago and she said this was my best try. Every time it gets easier and easier.
Same! I'm 12, and ive always wanted to learn how to do my own hair for a while now. I would always practice braiding hair like box braids and cornrolls, but it is lowkey so hard to do it on myself😅. Thank God for youtube!
One Love ummm what? they didn’t mean any harm by calling her that, she even liked the comment.. race doesn’t matter in this situation, some people just say dude a lot (i do lmao) (no hate btw but it’s not that big of a deal haha)

You should consider being an instructor! Your video was clear enough for beginners (like myself) so I did a whole head of box braids last night for the first time, thanks to your instruction😍🤗 keep it up sis
Right it take me hours to part my hair in the back and then have to turn around and braid and be braiding the 2nd day after I part cause my arms cannot take it
Hearing stories from friends about sitting for 8hrs in the stylist’s chair, I always thought you had to be an absolute genius magician to do black hair well. I’m not a hair stylist, but I’m on a journey for personal reasons to learn how to style all textures, thicknesses, and lengths of hair, and box braids is the last leg of my journey. Thanks to this beauty queen, I’m feeling confident I can do these on someone.
You don't know how refreshing your comment was for me. To see people taking time to go above and beyond in their interests to know how to be well rounded. Love it! Hope the last leg of your journey was a success!
also! if you don’t want to cut the pieces of your hair that are sticking out, but some braid jewelry and cover it up. it’s what i do personally (i’m done putting scissors to my head lmao). love the video girl! definitely gonna be doing my own braids during this quarantine 💛
i've been hesitant on braiding my own hair but this is the easiest tutorial i've seen by far ! thank you for sharing i'm definitely going to do mine now
Love this video! They look great! I’m literally in the middle of braiding my hair myself so you taught me something new about the gripping technique! Thank you! Just a tip for you to avoid your hair sticking out. As you are braiding down, once you are maybe a few inches before where your hair would normally start to stick out, apply your gel, wax whatever you used at your roots, braid down a little, add some more gel, braid down some more, and keep adding it until you are past where your hair ends. I promise you your hair will not stick out anymore!!!
Jenise Davis yeah I understand, blunt hair can have a mind of its own lol especially if your hair is thick! My hair isn’t as thick as yours so that’s probably why it works on me. Either way they still came out great ❤️
So I’ve braided my hair for the first time ever. Took a week and there’s a section in the middle that I never bothered to finish (I be tired after working 🤣). I plan to keep trying. That’s the only way I’ll get better. You did an amazing job. They really look professionally done.
See, here you go making me think I can try this on my head and it’ll come out like this 🤦🏾♀️😂. These are gorgeous! I ain’t got nothing but time so I might as well practice. 😊
You did a great job... explaining as well...don't give up and keep doing you (your own braids) no matter what anyone says...because as a "braiding specialist" by heart...it's alot of time and patience!!
The braids came out super cute 😍it’s okay girl the parts doesn’t have to be perfect because it’s hard to see the back of your head sometimes I always struggled with that .❤️❤️❤️ Overall you did dat !!🥰
I have been on several platforms and have watched tons of videos trying to learn this three strand method and I finally got it, this is absolutely the easiest, THANK YOU, perfect braids!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! This is the first video (out of dozens!) that I’ve finally understood how to attach the braiding hair. I’m a white mama with three black daughters that have natural hair. I’m so excited to finally do diy box braids! Yours look amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Literally stretching my hair to start braiding tomorrow! I may go back to the 3 strand method but I use my hair as the 3rd and feed in another strand. These look very neat and nice!
I’ve watched so many tutorials and could never do box braids well… it all finally clicked when I watched this video! Needless to say… I’m loving my $20 box braids 🤩
Wow!!! I’ve done these on myself using the rubber band method and the bands always showed and I didn’t know how to hide them. I’ve watch many of videos to try to do them without them and nobody explained them like you did nor showed how to start the braids the way you do. I appreciate this bc Im feeling confident enough to try them on myself again!! Thanks girlie!
This is my third day watching this video I kept watching to get the technique and today I tried a practice braid and the braid came out so good thank you💕
So, I’ve been learning to braid for the past 4-5 years because my daughter has obnoxiously thick, long, and curly hair (literally past her butt) and also for myself. I’ve watched so many videos on “DIY box braids” and yours is literally the only one that helped me to understand how to hold the sectioned hair, and grip the root. ❤️❤️
First of all you're beautiful! Your hair looks amazing! You actually inspired me to do mine thank you so much! This technique worked well for me too! I actually ran out of hair but im gonna finish it tomorrow. I'm so glad I came across this video!
Thank you so much for this video. I've been working remotely since March and I've gone to the braiding salon 3 times since then paying $160 each time to sit home and look "expensive cute" when I'm not really going anywhere. I love this video and I thank you so much it. Your braids look perfect to me!!! I love them. Thanks again!!!
