    I never get tired of this song.
    I totally get (from your response to the other comments) how this is getting harder, to do long songs as you age. It really is too bad that every day we each get a day older. Today I'm 17631 days old and nowhere nearly as musically inclined as you are.
    I'll be happy for you to do any Yes song from any album - there are shorter Yes songs, that's for sure.

      Thanks Jeffrey. I play through an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro head that's plugged into my computer with a Motu M4 interface. No speakers. I use Logic Pro and have 2 tracks set up for my bass. Track one is clean and I use Logic Pro's expander and just a bit of reverb. Track 2 is the same set up but with some distortion. I raise and lower that track depending on how much distortion Chris is using.

    Hi David, Nicely done. Can you explain your setup?. Are you direct into a computer? What modeling, etc are you applying for the growly sound? Thanks!

    • @davidkeep2140
      @davidkeep2140  3 года назад

      Thanks Steve. I play through an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro head. The line out is plugged into both channels of a Motu M4 with a Y cable and then the M4 is plugged into my Mac. I have two tracks set up in Logic Pro, one for each channel of the M4. Track 1 is the bulk of my sound. Track 2 is set up the same but I have a distortion unit in that one and raise and lower the volume of that track depending on how much distortion I need for any given song. The growl I get is mostly from have pretty low action and picking a little hard to get some fret buzz.

      @davidkeep2140  3 года назад

      @@bassdude1978 No, the 4003S is only mono, no Ric o Sound. But that's kind of what I'm trying to emulate. Chris Squire ran his Ric through an Ampeg setup for the bulk of his sound and also had a Marshall setup for his "dirty" sound.

      @@davidkeep2140 Ok thank you, all good stuff. , appreciate it! I play my ric thru an amp to a room and have a harder time getting the sound down that I want. I also use a Helix. I think having a more processed approach , rather than a live ambient room sound will help get me there. I am old, 61, so i need to educate myself on newer ways to do things electronically.

      @@bassdude1978 Yeah, I don't use any speakers or mics. My sound is all direct. But it took me years to get even close to Chris' sound. I've been finding over the years that simple is better. My Ampeg amp, Moto M4, my Mac and I use the built-in effects in Logic Pro. That's really it. And BTW, I'm even older than you by a couple years! 🙄⚰
