Love this video, when you showed your dad's hoe, it reminded me of the hoe my dad gave me as well, he had brought it back from Portugal a longtime ago and still is my "go-to" hoe for weeding! Thanks for sharing!😊

Great video. I continue to learn from you with each video. I see that you don’t have any potted figs in your green house. I really miss that 😢. Could you just show a little about what potted figs you do have. I saw a few at the end. Some more tips about them would be great. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

I have about 30 fig trees, various sizes.......some in 15 gallon pots, some in 2'x2'x2' planters, some in the ground, etc..........that I rooted from Northern California fig trees discovered along the road. A few just completed what I believe is their breva crop.........now we're waiting for a "main crop". Wife says "dump them, they're junk".......I say "Be patient". This video (on June 27) shows trees with tons of figs but Lou mentions another variety that he considers "early".......with figs appearing in August and harvestable before cold weather. Question: When do most fig growers expect their main crops to begin appearing (those little pea-sized nodes that grow into mature figs)? One of our three store-bought trees has generated these baby main crop figs as of about June 1 but our other trees are either void of figs or yielded only brevas. Admittedly, some trees are too young or may still be in "shock" from recent transplanting.

Hi there! When exactly a main crop of figs will begin to ripen is very variety specific. Of course, there are many variables that can and will affect ripening. These include the growing zone, location of the tree, is it in ground or grown in containers, if grown in ground, is it planted in a warm sweet spot, protected from the cold spring weather conditions, the age of the tree, the specific weather conditions in any given growing season, the degree of love and tender care?n fertilizer use, etc etc! I invite you to take a look at my many videos on these topics and hopefully, you will find many answers to your questions. Thank for watching! Lou Monti

I believe he uses his grass clippings!!! If you do as well, make sure it's not treated grass with weed kill etc.
