How to CANCEL PayPal Subscription or Recurring / Automatic Payments in 2023

- PayPal makes it difficult to cancel subscriptions or recurring and automatic payments. Every time I need to cancel a subscription, I have to jump through many hoops to find a list of all my outgoing/automatic payments. I figured this may be an issue with any of you who have used PayPal to sign up for a free trial for an app or website, or if you have used PayPal to pay for a monthly service and are no longer interested in that service.
Some companies or websites require you to cancel your subscription directly through PayPal, or you will continue to get billed! In this tutorial, I'll show you how you can find your recurring or automatic payments in your PayPal account and what you need to do to CANCEL these payments so you won't keep getting charged!

Paypal has made this ridiculously difficult to find. It's so ridiculous, it seems by design.
I agree.. it should be very simple to find your subscriptions!
Bummer, that was one of the great features about PayPal. The ability to cancel subscriptions on the PayPal side. You didn’t have to worry about some shady company continue to charge your credit card after you thought you canceled.
Can't cancel from Paypal anymore so went back to the service itself in my case JVzoo, found the hidden Subscription tab, there it was. Had to answer feedback to actually cancel and it finally worked - Ugh!
@@42dunbar they moved it to payment preferences under account settings; lets see where they move it next month.
@@42dunbar I can still cancel automatic payments in Paypal, I don't know what that person means, they probably can't find the page because they changed the menu, again.

Sadly this already no longer works. Now it takes you to a page that the only option you can click is to change your payment methods. I really need to just delete paypal I swear! I'm off to search more!

@@thebackyardhomesteader I can still cancel automatic payments in Paypal, I just cancel an auto-payment today, maybe they changed the menu but the option still exists.

Hey Jennifer. I watched your video to try to cancel a service I was no longer wanting on my windows machine. I could not cancel the service in the paypal website no matter what I tried. But I used the app on my phone and was able to do so there. My acct was not professional BTW. Thanks for your help.

OMG this was DOING MY HEAD IN for hours this morning and I was about to throw my laptop out of my office window when I found your Video. Thank goodness for you that's all I can say !!! It wasn't where you said it was because one of the links you show wasn't there anymore, and I have seen perhaps 30 videos and each one the information is different so is it me or does PayPal keep moving the options to make it hard for people to do this???? What if there’s no cancel button ? Can I just remove PayPal as a payment method? It says any pending transactions will still go through. That doesn’t mean the company can still bill me does it ? There are cancel buttons next to my other subscriptions . I’m now seeing that this company is trying to make cancellation difficult.

I had my first autopayment scheduled for January 3rd 2024. I checked my account at 9pm of that day and payment still hadn't processed. So I checked again at 10:30 a d still hadn't processed. So I went to edit auto pay and it still said January the 3rd. Just went back and my payment never processed and it never processed and says my first payment is set up for February the 3rd. I'm gonna be charged a late fee for something that frankly isn't my fault

WHat if its done as a "guest" with the same email as your actual paypal account? This is ridicilous.
I have a business account and the "My Preapproved Payments" link is not on the page. Now what?
Account settings > SOLUTIONS & SERVICES > My automatic payments (update) > click "My pre-approved payments" link/

Unfortunately not. You won't get charged in future, but you won't get money back for previous purchases. If there was a mistake or you believe you shouldn't have been charged, you can always file a claim.

@diekno Yes!! I called PayPal and they provided me with the option to cancel the subscriptions. That seems to be the new way.

OK, I understand how it is working, but the one I want to cancel is not in my automatic payments, because I don't like it. I want to put my pasword when I am paying with my PayPal!
