The biker took a different route that day, imagine if he didn’t.
She was lucky af
butterfly effect
i know right, AND he was trespassing.. a miracle
Thank God for those "meant to be" moments🙏🏻 I'm glad the bike had found her and that she's alive!
The poor girl so glad he took the route
God bless that biker
Babynurse1 Yes thanks to him or else she may not have survived.
Peyton and him are gonna turn into legit superhero’s I swear
that biker was amazing but also the surgeons
yea peyton's lucky the guy wasn't a rapist or anything who wouldve taken advantage of the state she was in
Especially because the biker put themself as being blamed for the murder
I do not believe Anissa thought Slenderman is real, she said that the stories are made up in the first few minutes of her interrogation. She used Slenderman to get Morgan to help her. And I think her Mother knows that very well.
YEP!!!!
that’s what i thought too
this.
And to think Anissa is already out and free.
Morgan also is schizophrenic so I think Anissa saw that and decided to have her do it because it would be easier to convince her
“We didn’t see ANYTHING she was doing on the internet “.
That’s the problem.
AMEN!
It says a lot that they've never spoken to the victim's family...
NeccoWecco I'm sure that they were advised by their attorney to not speak to the victim's family to avoid incriminating their daughter. I would say that the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.
They have spoke to the family.
He's only thankful that she didn't died because then is not a murder trial. They dond give a f about Payton nor the trauma to the family
It's a difficult situation. You think they like what happened or somehow don't care about the girl who was stabbed? That's an awfully infantile view of the situation.
That's a hell of an assumption that they wouldn't speak to her family if the family *wanted* to make contact. It's just as likely a matter of giving them space and awaiting the moment when *they* (the victim's family) are ready.
...which may be never. But in that situation, you'd probably be waiting to see if and when it's okay too.
She was a hair away from death. If there daughter stabbed her a hair deeper she would be dead. And the dad said they where struggle equally!
Their daughter didn't stab anyone
@@flyntflossy3044 she was an accomplice, attempted to suffocate her, and provided the weapon
@@jchayes6361 did she stab her?
@@flyntflossy3044 she might have once or twice but i am un sure
Flynt Flossy she did try to knock her out, helped with the plan of killing her and sat on her while ordering the other girl to stab her
The fact that they are saying that they are "suffering equally" and defending their daughter like she's a victim too tells me so much more than their long and ridiculous explanation.
@anotherameliaNo? Payton is the victim, she is the one who got stabbed. These are Anissa’s parents
Sometimes I wonder if Anissa just wanted Payton dead because she wanted Morgan all to herself. Payton has revealed that Anissa was never really her friend and she was always mean to her because she had to share.
Yes. Not to mention Anissa would get physically violent towards Payton while Morgan did nothing about it. Neither of them deserved her compassion, and Morgan actually commented on Payton's level of trust in her, stating that "it was sort of sad."
If that's not chilling, I don't know what is.
All I’m hearing is “I care about my daughter, not the girl she stabbed”
Well yeah they are going to continue to be worried about their own daughter even though she did something horrible.
@@RodriguezAby1 The issue was that they ONLY care about their kid.
No words of condolence or speedy recovery to Peyton's parents for three years. Instead, these two are now publicly claiming to have faced an equal struggle as the victim's family.
@@RodriguezAby1 Of course they still care about there child but someone who says there stroggling equily dosent care about the victuim and is arrigant.
@@geniechoe6487 Now that is messed up trying to compare themselves to the family. No where near close to the victim. I did not watch the whole video so I missed that part.
@@BayMaxAcademy You are certainly right it is arrogant that they are thinking they are equally struggling.
Most people can’t survive 1 stab, this child survives 19?! She invincible.
That's the wrong word because she still has fear from the incident. She has strong determination 💪
IKR if the stab to her chest was a human hair deeper, she would have died. She was defiantly supposed to live
She's on X games mode
Bruh she got some fucking mad luck
Most people survive getting stabbed once
During an interrogation one of the girls said and I quote
*"I thought about killing her then I decided remorse would get me nowhere, it's easier to live without regrets."* What kind of child talks like this. Let's not forget how *Nikko Jenkins* started as a kid.
how did he start?
NO CORRELATION! These are middle class wyte kids
Some point in her knife-wielding Morgan also said, "Don't be afraid, I'm only a little kitty cat."
I got chills just writing that.
How dare he suggest they are suffering anywhere close to what Payton went through

Excuse me what.
Ikr. she literally admitted to doing it, to an investigator.
That line pissed me off bruh. To hell with that entire family!
The girls literally planned the murder for half a year like-
your not alone...disillusion is real
My friend who's a school councilor says that when a child does something unthinkable the parents go through HUGE stages of denial. While there heart is saying "my kid would never do this, I didn't raise her/him like that." So on and so forth while there brain says "yes it was accept it." The parent will go to there grave defending there child's actions good or bad. Sad really.
May god bless Payton, the man that found her and all the medics and surgeons that saved her life 💗
The parent’s are so disgusting like wtf “ Suspected“ MISTER your daughter tried to kill her so called best friend, they literally stabbed her 19 times”.
his daughter is the other girl and only got charged with attempted second-degree. minor mistakes like yours are major in a court of law, he was well within his right to speak up

On her and even admitted and asked if she was alive and was bothered not knowing

"Being suspected of"
This dad is in denial lol he really thinks his daughter was framed
Right she even admitted to doing it and the dad is in such denial
He doesn't think she's framed, it's just hard to say that his daughter did something that violent. It's his way of coping with the shock.

Well no fucking shit. She's his daughter. I'm sorry that he loves his child and is still in major disbelief by experiencing something that most parents shouldn't have to go through.
It is disgusting that these parents are acting like their daughter is a victim
Very true, they’re probably just very stressed out about the situation their daughter got herself into, and didn’t expect their own child to do something so evil at such a young age. Some parents can be very over protective so of course they’re gonna act like she a victim but that doesn’t make it right or what she did okay.

@@AA-gr4xh lmfaooooo you had to come back and see they dont care
bruh u have to understand the parents are victims to okay

The fact that he thinks they are equally struggling as the family of the girl who would literally never trust enough is fricking outrageous
Morgan's parents should have known by the journal she carried, that her parents said for her not to bring it to school. It was scary stuff.
You can't be serious........they both plotted, kidnapped, attacked, and left another 12 y/o girl in the woods to slowly bleed out by herself AS A SACRIFICE. They can both rot and her parents can keep that half ass bogus apology.
Torah Agnew I agree, they spent months planing this. This is a case that shouldn't be tried in a juvenile court. They should be tried as adults since they obviously knew what they were doing.
Torah Agnew Now that you lay it like that it sounds like a cult type of thing you know and not the good kind
OK. I agree to a point with what you're saying. I agree to the fullest about the two girls, they should be tried as adults as they knew exactly what they were doing when they 'lured' this 12 year old girl into the woods that day, and stabbed her 19 times in the name of 'Slender-man'.
BUT to then criticise the parents regarding their apology, why? What do they say to the victims parents? How do they even start to apologise on behalf of their child? How would you react if you was in this situation. I think unless you're in their situation, it's hard to judge.
If you haven't watched the documentary 'Beware the Slender-man' then watch it. It does explain a lot.
Because it's the parents fault 100%.
I am not judging them for apologising, i am judging them because it did not sound in the least sincere.
I get it, they are put in a tough position by giving their own child emotional/mental support and showing support for the girl who was attacked but it sounded forced. Like they were coached.
"we're struggling equally" no you aren't??? Your daughter tried to kill someone while their daughter almost died because your daughter tried to kill her. No, you aren't struggling equally.
They are in a way because survivor's family will get support but the other 2 girls' families will be seen as villains. Because of those girls their families have a smear to their name.
Queen Bee
NOT EQUALLY
@@sanguineaddiction3436 eh, it's a trickier case than that. Morgan had schizophrenia, but wasn't diagnosed at the time. That could explain why she shows no remorse in the start, but is clearly in extreme distress when the case is brought up now, after years of intense treatment at a mental institution. I think she realized what she did during treatment and is now living with that.
To be fair imagine find out your DAUGHTER tried to kill someone that’s gotta be a blow
Queen Bee they are villains. They deserve what they got while the other family doesn’t.
I like how the father really said “suspected of” after hearings what she was “capable of”, they both admitted to do the crime, she was clearly a sociopath and needs help. And by help I mean being put in a cell for the rest of her life for what they both did to that poor girl
“Our daughter is going through just as much as yours “ wow
Dumb fucks right?
"Suspected"?! They literally tried to *MURDER* their best friend to become proxies of a *FICTIONAL CHARACTER.* Like, WTF.
And there’s the um, confessions. Lol.
Exactly! They were 12. Most 12 year olds don’t believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, etc. So I don’t believe they believed in Slenderman. Also most kids know it’s wrong to kill. These girls unfortunately are psychotic. They need to be on anti-psychotics for the rest of their lives
I'm pretty sure they have to say alleged or suspected until the trial is done.
Honestly i feel for the parents of all 3 families....imagine how would your reaction be if you found out that your daughter tried to kill her best friend and almost stabbed her to death.....imagine how it felt finding out that your daughter got stabbed by her best friends and might not make it....like its a really difficult situation for both the parents and its a horrible thing for any parent to go through what they've gone through
Marybeth O I’m not sure it was a jealousy thing
The woman said “what your kids are capable of” the father corrected her saying “SUSPECTED of”
The woman said “during the interrogation” and the mother corrected her saying “INTERVIEW”
You can see that the parents think that they’re child did nothing wrong
Disgusting and irresponsible
The kids probably showed signs of phsycopathy before and the parents excused it which lead them to be able to go on with their plan... :/
@Layna Snyder I do think that they can cope but they’ve also lost their 12-year-old child to the system and that is not easy to deal with does this make up for her actions no but the parents have also lost their daughter in the sense to she can’t grow up and be a normal teen she’s had to grow up as a teenage girl getting her first period Doing all this other stuff not being able to hug her mom or truly talk to her about how she feels without being recorded or feeling like she’s being watched that has to take a toll on a person I think that this all came from a fear of the two girls families getting killed by this fictional character that no one could explain to them that it was fake because of the fact she was just on this website with all this creepy stuff and yes the parents were irresponsible for not checking her history also I think the parents had to kind of tiptoe around what they were saying to protect your daughter that is love for your child imagine if your sibling or your own mother or you had done that crime loving and protecting them is all that you can do to help I am not saying that they are suffering more but they are suffering to all parties in this whole situation are and it sucks I think what bothers me the most is that they were so young and not being able to comprehend that at a young age The fear monsters or aliens if they hadn’t brought up the Slenderman to their parents their parents would not be able to tell them that it was not real and they saw all this information online from thisI think it was out of fear and I think they didn’t know how to deal with it so they made up their own plan which was very wrong and people are suffering because of it in all parties
@@jocelopez8665 ok but they’re trying to excuse their actions and I’m kinda offended that you think I would love and support my family if they did that to someone
@@keeganjoyner9569 It may be how I grew up but you Love your family no matter what. Also you have to support them but not all actions they have made . They are serving their time and dealing with there consequences. Would you still want to be loved by your family if you had done something wrong. Idk but they are suffering and hey Maybe they can’t cope and they did these reports and speeches to see people’s opinions. I also apologize that I offended you. If I were your family no matter what you did I would come and see you or write to you even if it was hard for me to deal with what you did
Of course they don't want to believe it... I mean can you imagine if your own "normal" kid as everyone thought just murderd his best friend?? You sure wouldn't wanna believe it's real. That was sketchy as hell, you'd think he'd get over denial after 3 years and a confession. The audacity to correct the reporter with, "suspected of".
He spoke in past tense...
Swedish Otaku Even so they still did it. OWN IT.
They even said they wanted to kill her.
he was talking about how he felt when he found out not about how he feels in this interview
There's quite a few things to unload here so let's start at the with the 911 call.
1. If you're planning on listening to the 911 call and are particularly sensitive or are in the field of emergency dispatch - DON'T. The operator is incompetent, has a thick Midwestern accent and clearly has trouble with comprehension. I am deaf in my left ear and clearly understood the man calling, I can't understand why the dispatcher couldn't. The caller was very calm and spoke very clearly. The dispatcher could've ended up being responsible not for Peyton's attack but her possible death because he was not truly listening and took too long to understand he needed to send paramedics.
2. All three, yes ALL THREE sets of parents should've been charged with child negligence. I say this because as you heard in this interview: Morgan's parents had no idea what she was looking at on the internet, never got her help for being disturbed, and did not listen to the counselors and her teachers regarding her odd behavior that any sane parent would take their child to a doctor to be evaluated for. THEN. Add in the fact that they had no idea where she was for over 5 hours straight. The girls did not have a cell phone and claimed to be going to a park to play, alone. Even in 2014 no 12 year old little girls should be allowed to play alone unsupervised at a playground. Anywhere. Creeps are everywhere and these girls could have been targeted and they wouldn't have any idea. There's no town too small to allow your preteen daughters to walk around without supervision. Dumb.
3. Morgan's parents claiming that both of these girls truly believed in Slenderman tells me they have not seen the interrogation tapes (I watched them in full) to see that both were very aware he wasn't real. Anissa admitted by the end that she knew it wasn't real, Morgan did not say she knew he wasn't real, but seemed to have fair comprehension that what she was reading about Slenderman could be fictional.
4. Those saying that Morgan deserves life in prison need to realize a few things. There are literally people that have r*ped BABIES to death that don't receive life in prison. Good luck. Payton survived and the sane party in these two attackers was Anissa. If anyone is fit to go to prison for quite awhile (she's already out) it was Anissa. She was acting on normal childhood jealousy and was the one that knew what she was doing was wrong, that Slenderman wasn't real, and was afraid of losing her new friend to Payton. Anissa took advantage of Morgan's mental illness and helped her commit this attack and used her love of creepy things against her.
5. The reason Morgan should not be in prison for life is simple: she's not sane. Morgan was later diagnosed with early onset schizophrenia, ODD and psychosis. She needs a padded cell, supervision and medication for the rest of her life.
They failed as parents and their daughter should never walk free.
Right.. I felt like the parents were completely unapologetic to the victim and her family. If I was her mom, I would be completely heartbroken and devastated to know that my daughter, who I gave life to, wanted to end another's. I would feel like a total failure as a mother.
@@giulianacr2638 they should’ve monitored their child on the internet

That was added afterwards by abc, that's why the camera changed to a different clip at the same time and her saying "capable of" sounded funny. They just took advantage of a brief pause the father made to make it more dramatic.

Monica Hernandez, the father could still be in denial and trying to accept what happened. No one wants to believe their children are heartless murderers.

These parents creep me out...
Stephanie Mukai it seemed like they were almost trying to discredit the victim and her family by saying that they are struggling equally with their daughter
Because they are struggling equally... What their daughter did was fucked on so many levels and now shes behind bars and they'll never be the family they were ever again. Idk how you would feel after trying to process the situation that your own offspring had caused, but i would definitely feel sad, guilty, and scared- not only for me but for her. She will never get the life that they had intended for her and there isn't anything they can do other than accept it. The victim was very injured, yes. But she lived! That's a miracle, and now she gets to move on, get married, have kids and just have a life in general while the girls who did that crime to her will barely even see the light of day till theyr'e old old women. I'm not saying what they did was at all okay, like fuck those girls that is so beyond messed up and stupid but you cant blame the parents for hurting just as much as the victims family, everyone is sad and confused. they're both dealing with the same issue just at different spectrum's, i have remorse for the parents and families, not the girls who acted on this at the slightest but the family i can feel for. I didn't find them creepy, i found them to be sort of nervous and only trying to be informative for the sake of their daughters name- but idek she stabbed some girl savagely with no remorse at the time, of course she has remorse after shes in trouble. idk i don't feel for the kid, i do for those that loved and hoped for her. I hope these families can continue life making it the best that it can be, they shouldn't let their daughters dumb ass decision stop them from being happy and active. Fuck those girls honestly, and i am just so so happy to know that Payton survived this horrendous act and i wish the best and more for her!
lb80123 The victim is scared do life. She most likely has PTSD and depression. She won't have a normal life. She also had no choice in this however her "friends" did.
I didn't say she had a choice??.. What those 2 girls did is beyond unforgivable, also i never said her life would be normal but it sure does get to continue. Payton is no doubt struggling still and always will but she has a chance to look past it and try to move on and be happy while those girls are jailed for most their lives-AS THEY SHOULD BE, with their parents feeling their guilt every single day. The parents of Payton still get to say they have their daughter at home at the end of the day while the other parents sit in despair for what could have been for their now criminal children and rethinking what their kid committed toward another kid. I"m pretty sure you' be pretty fucked up if you heard of what your own child that you loved and raised did. To be fair here, no ones life is normal and both families were affected negativity from this event. What those girls did was selfish and the parents should not feel like it is their fault and the parents of payton should not hold a grudge toward the parents of the other girls, but they can hate the girls because fuck them. I wouldn't blame their own parents for hating them after what they did so soullessly, pathetic honestly. I hope that everyone that is having to deal with this case and are coping with all the pain and confusion are doing well and that they'll be able to look past this and just feel blessed to have Beautiful Payton still walking this earth, it wasn't her time and she will go on to do great things. As for the other girls, i hope they do a lot of thinking and that they see how foolish this attack was. The slenderman...really??? just pathetic is all i can say about them.

Stabbing a best friend 19 times for slender man that’s really messed up. These girls confessed that they had originally wanted to murder her for her to die. This whole thing gave me the chills
I thought the exact same way their daughter was not an extremely young child and easily swayed I believe what the father said about him suffering from his daughter imagine the struggle of waking up in the morning and saying my daughter could be dead. This case is disgusting
Then they say she has mental issues! She wasn't crazy before but shes crazy now.
I do feel for the parents.
Parents will literally defend their kids no matter what. This is crazy to me.
"what our daughter is being 'suspected of'" sweetie there's no suspicion involved, they tried to murder their friend at 12 years old and that's a proven fact
the girls admitted it- but putting them on tv is just stupid. she's sorry , she's a danger to society and they sound like they are condoning it
“The laws are outdated” *OUTDATED* oh yeah getting arrested for *murder* is such a bad law!! What is wrong with these parents like you are NOT suffering equally, your daughter tried to MURDER SOMEONE
But you cannot consider a child as young as 10 as an adult and judge him/her as such ! Their brain isn't fully developped and they have still difficulties to differentiate reality from fiction. At 10, you only just realize the finality of death. Once again, the USA have the most absurd laws ^^. You HAVE to judge those kids, of course, but as what they were at the time of their crime: kids.
@@veroniquejeangille8248 yeah and if they get away with it , they would be serial killers in the future because they know that they dont get much consequences
To me 19 times she was on her way to over kill knowing that was her freind.
@@veroniquejeangille8248 please how many 10 year would stab someone 19 times seriously .slenderman or not.
@@veroniquejeangille8248 maybe it's just me but I matured extremely quick. And i know this is out of place but it fits, I've been told that I have the mind of an adult. I can't understand what dumbass would do something like that. It doesn't matter the age or the mind. Murder is something so obviously wrong. And the fact that this is basically 1st degree murder shows that these girls have pretty mature minds as well.
"wouldn't tell them im sorry" How dare he say that
Not knowing what your kid is doing or capable is not helping your case.
Once my dog bit another dog at the park and I literally melt down on apologies to the other dog’s owner. Imagine your child stabbed 19 times another kid and justify it with “we are suffering equally” and “the laws are outdated”.
Yeah their responses really weren’t it at all. Made me feel no sympathy for their family. Their daughter got off easy for what she did.
@@star_fruitti She could have been on death row 💀
The comment about equal suffering was insensitive, though I imagine to them it's like their little girl actually died. She will be forever the mentally unwell kid that believed in something incredibly stupid and did this horrific thing. The only thing that really redeemed the parents to me a little was the mother wishing for Peyton find genuine friendship, knowing that her daughter wasn't a true friend and most likely has made it difficult for Peyton to trust potential friends anymore.
Because you have sympathy & compassion... and these parents dont. Now we know why their daughters are the way they are. 😔
I agree the parents are not nice
I feel like anissa was telling the truth and morgan didnt care at ALL. I mean who dances after they almost KILLED their "best friend" with blood on them. The dance seemed like she was just fine and didnt even care that what she did was horrible.
GUYS PLEASE. THIS IS SO OLD I understand she had an illness ive gotten over 10 Replies saying the same thing😭😭😭
and when they say to Morgan that Payton was taken to the hospital Morgan shake her head as a "no"...
The worst thing is that she didn’t know that her “best friend” was still alive. She was dancing thinking “I’m in trouble, but at least she’s dead”
She was saying the truth with Morgan was saying it as if she isn't to blame.
What can I say like parents like daughter, they denied everything.
I remember a comment about how Morgan knew she was gonna be on tv and wanted to act like the crazy creepy psychopath girl, which I think could lead to be true.
She was probably even happy thinking she killed her friend. Its messed up
I see a lot of people saying “no you aren’t struggling equally, your daughter isn’t the one who almost died”
He said they are equally struggling with trying to understand what happened and why. That’s completely different from what you guys are arguing. He never just said “we are also struggling” implying that they are struggling with the situation.
At 6:23 the dog drops his head in disgust at what his wife said and then caught himself lol.
Wow... That's creepy. I can't believe 2 girls could come up with a plot like that.
Elle Bakaysa crazy isn't it?
Elle Bakaysa there's nothing unreal or unbelievable about this...those girls were unmonitored children who were allowed to believe whatever they wanted... children's minds are very susceptible and the internet is an easy place to get lost and out of touch at a young age...these girls aren't evil.
They should go to jail forever for the whole life so they won't have to find me u know what there not

These parents are DEFENDING their child, when they tired to commit murderer. I mean, somethings wrong.
Jackie Bullock agreed. (Payton survived) I just don't know how they can defend this.
because its their fucking child
Jackie Bullock they’re not giving up on their child, what’s wrong with that? Some people are really devoted to and won’t give up on their children

Exactly
They don’t think she should be tried as an adult but if the tables were turned and their daughter was the one stabbed would they feel the same?

Both of them are in denial, about how evil this act was and that there daughter was heavily involved.
Adykayful I was thinking the same thing the whole time. Saying that his dad “was being accused” like no dude, she’s not being accused, she even admitted it.
Their* sorry
Yep, shows a lot about their parenting and I do not believe that their daughter with this obsession with slender man never once said anything to their parents about it. My daughter around this time right before this incident happened heard about slender man at school and than watched a video on youtube about it and she was like 9 and it bothered her so much that she came to me and asked me about it. I found the origins of the story of that one and also Jeff the Killer (which she had heard from a classmate that scared her even more) and showed her how it was a made up story from an individuals on the internet. I explained that creepy pasta site to her and how it was all just made up stories. She was completely relieved. I think these parents ignored their child and didn't parent. I can guarantee she did tell them and they most likely laughed it off and ignored her instead of trying to have a teaching moment. Just like this isn't their daughter's fault in their minds they probably believe it isn't their fault either, just scratching it up to the internet. Please, your daughter hated the victim and used peer pressure to get the other girl to do her deeds!
Her father actually said in court he did not believe she suffered from mental illness, which ruined her claim of not guilty because of mental illness.
Wow...this is why 'silence is golden'
I can't believe they said that on national television.
Just exactly the kind of parents you would expect her to have
The dad never gives a valid example on why his daughter shouldn't be trialed as an adult. He just blabs on about the law. THAT'S NOT WHAT SHE WAS ASKING 🙄
Karisma right? I was like what the fuck is he banging on about? Drones? Cell phones? Fucking Christ the dad needs a beating.
Karisma god i was thinking the same thing??? she almost succeeded in brutally murdering one of her best friends in the middle of the woods by stabbing 19 times??? what the fuck
How does changes in technology affect whether or not someone gets tried as an adult..

The parents of the two suspects giving sympathy, empathy, pity, humility, and mercy for their respective daughters should be in mental health therapy for how disgusting they show comfort and support for their daughters' actions against Peyton. The parents of both Morgan and Anissa should offer child support for Peyton for the rest of their old-fart lives. Should they pass away or commit suicide, every single tangible assets, ranging from home equity and businesses, should be all seized as restitution and compensation to the victim. Even if Slender man was real, killing is killing. Even 4 year olds know that is wrong. So any excuse they can come up with is irrelevant.
PREACH!!
Mrs.
Mentally ill people should _never_ see the inside of a jail cell if they commit a crime. It's time the justice system realized that.
Every person who commits crimes like these are mentally ill. Child rapist, serial killers, etc so we should never lock these people away and try to let them live a normal life after consulting. Do you know how many people have been "rehabilitated" and then committed the same crimes again they do it because they is something wrong with there brain so they don't need to be around others who they can hurt
Colby Chaddick So glad to see someone else understands you can't trust these kind of people. "Rehabilitation" isn't going to change their moral compass.
It seems to me, that the mother, putting some emphasis on the "interviews" they've seen, she sounds like she hasn't faced that her daughter is guilty of this crime. And BTW, telling the parents of this girl that was almost murdered by her closest friends that your struggling to process this too, is insanely insensitive. Both these parents need to understand that, yes protect your children, but not when they decide to kill someone!
Why did you do the HBO documentary?
The way they approached us...
*translation*
$$$
It's weird that they said they were "EQUALLY" struggling so they think having to deal with their daughter almost dying is equal to their daughter killing someone? That's just insane.
Think about it this way. Peyton's parents are getting sympathy from others because their daughter was the victim. These two are getting blamed for their daughter's actions (parents aren't the only source of a child's behavior), accused of covering up or defending her (like any parent would, though notice they didn't say she didn't do it), and basically treated as though they're criminals (guilty by association, I guess). Of course, what their daughter did was terrible, but the saying "hindsight is 20/20" comes into play here. It's easy for those of us who don't know them or their daughter to say, "Well, they should have known something was wrong," but that's not fair. There aren't always signs when there's a problem. My best friend tried to commit suicide several times. Her parents were on guard for the later attempts, but she did a great job hiding any evidence from them (or me) before the first. Two of my friends threatened to shoot up our school, and, again, there were no signs. They just wrote a note one day when they were upset, and then they were in the juvenile detention center.
Besides that, they probably blame themselves for all of this. Again, "hindsight's 20/20." Looking back, you start thinking about the things that you could have done differently or the minor details that suddenly seem hugely important. If they're constantly trying to think of how they could have prevented this or why it happened in the first place, then yeah, I'd say their struggle is about equal. I'm not justifying their daughter's actions, and I'm not claiming to know anything about what happened or why. I'll leave that up to the legal system since that's their job. But all of the families were victimized in this. You'd probably be going through hell, too, if you learned that your daughter had psychotically attacked one of her friends, nearly killing her.
Remi Corbin I agree, how are they suffering equally?
@Remi Corbin What's insane is all the crap children are exposed to for hours everyday on the internet. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be more coming down the pike. These 2 are simply the first generation who have grown up with youtube and parents had no idea. It's like the obesity epidemic. Once kids were all skinny now there is a huge problem with obesity. In the future there are going to be HUGE scary behavioural problems with children. So unless you don't have young kids I wouldn't be so smug and unsympathetic if I were you.
I agree Ive been a victime and hell no. Its equily sufferying.

I do not have kids but I can say this, it is wrong and cruel to tell 2 twelve year old girls they have to go to jail for 30 years because of a computer game.
She's their child, that's why they want her to be tried in a juvenile court. If their child was in the victims place instead, I bet their views on this would be the exact opposite.
The mom literally said "Payton said she thought Morgan was her friend and prays she finds true friendship"

I'm seriously amazed at how no one else see's it this way.
I don’t agree with his statement, but I think he meant that they were both struggling to process this whole ordeal equally, not suffering equally
@@azonicrider32 If you think about it, yes you would be upset, but she nearly killed her best friend for a fictional character. I don't care how old or young she is. 10-year-olds do worse things and get tried as adults. The point is she stabbed her best friend 19 times in the woods, and now her parents are trying to sugar coat the fact that their daughter is crazy, and is a murderer.
They are struggling I mean they lost a loved one to jail, they lost the person she was before going crazy on the other poor girl I wouldn't say they suffered equally as the other parents but they are still suffering about the fact that their daughter tried to murder someone
In my opinion, it’s not equal. It’s worse for the family of the girls who attempted murder. Imagine being in the family of someone who tried to kill another little girl. They will forever be seen as having raised a murderer. The other family, while struggling with what happened, are victims. They will have public help and support. But that family was right in one way- those parent’s child is a psychopathic murderer instead of a survivor. So yeah, it’s not equal. It’s worse.
