I still love a story Spielberg shared about the late Richard Attenborough. He recalls that Attenborough slept through the entire storm. Spielberg asked him how he slept through it to which Attenborough replied “Oh my dear boy, I survived the Blitz!”
When I was 14 there was a giant storm that devastated france, the forrest near my house was gone the next morning, we could see the village behind it. I never slept so well in my entire life. Go figure.
Jurassic Park is my daughter's favorite movie, she will watch it over and over again! That's awesome they took some shots of the hurricane and put it in the movie! I love swans they are beautiful! Nothing like a hurricane to bring everyone together!! I feel old seeing her all grown up!
It was my favorite movie too and still is I would watch it over and over when I was little and I was born March 18th 2001 and I loved Jurassic park it was one of my favorite movies ever and still is it’s a classic for sure
Richard Attenborough famously slept through the majority of the hurricane. As he told Spielberg who asked him how he could sleep through all that, Attenborough said "My boy, I survived the Blitz."
Those pictures of the two kids running through that incredible landscape (without dinosaurs chasing them) are gorgeous! I can't even imagine living in a place like that.
i didn't know they filmed that movie during a hurricane. that explains the scenes where there was so much rain, and that the hurricane warning in a couple scenes wasn't a total joke. ariana richards is almost 40 now. boy how time just flies. after all child actors don't stay young children forever you know
Well Jurassic Park ISN'T the only Blockbuster movie that was filmed amidst of a major disaster. Need a hint? "NEVER SLEEP AGAIN!" "ONE, TWO... (answers phone) FREDDY'S COMING FOR YOU!"
The trex even shorted out due to the hurricane! It was insane it kept malfunctioning and almost killed people on set because it would just randomly turn on and come running towards them going RAWWWWWR!!!!
I just love the attitude of the film crew after the storm had ended, they're so creative and prepared for dang near anything that could happen, they're all together like "the heck with waiting for help, we're getting this done now" and just start clearing roads and such, using all their skills together to help the locals as much as possible and get it cleaned up as much as they could.
I lived in Hawaii for 35 years which includes when the movie was being filmed there. Know how much to this day the people of Kauai are so very grateful for the help that Spielberg and his whole crew gave!
I'm glad they stepped up to help that hotel. They certainly had the skills to do so. It's too bad they hadn't finished filming before the storm hit. They could have stayed to help more locals afterwards.
And the best part... Unlike the uploads by other channels it seems TWC since they own Storm Stories has taken the liberties of enhancing the resolution of these old episodes.
According to Wikipedia, Samuel L. Jackson was actually supposed to have a lengthy chase and death by raptors scene, but the set was destroyed by the hurricane.
The weird thing is that this program doesn't mention it, nor the making of book mentioms a death scene for Samuel L Jackson being interrupted by the Hurricane
@@davidlewis5189 I understand that. I meant that as a statement to the OC because the OC said they got their info from Wikipedia. And as you mentioned, there aren't many sources out there confirming the information about Jackson.

Richard Attenborough slept through Iniki. When he was asked about this by Stephen Spielberg, he said to him "Dear boy, I survived the Blitz!" Somehow, I can picture him saying that. Attenborough was getting married and a bomb exploded nearby, so he sought shelter--no, he didn't. He finished his wedding vows and then reluctantly walked to a bomb shelter. He also served in the RAF during World War II, recording bombing raids on the Germans...
Yeah I get that the hurricane is bad , but give me a choice between the T-Rex chasing the jeep or when it bursts in to the toilet and a storm , well..............lets get real!
I just watched and saw the date when they started filming on Kauai--August 24th, 1992. The same day Hurricane Andrew devastated a large portion of South Florida. Little did the cast and crew know what was coming...
I just had a shocking realization... Steven Spielberg directed Jaws at the relative "beginning" of his career. Wow, talk about pressure! He has had this pressure for success the majority of his career! Wow, just wow! He's certainly an amazing person but geez, that type of pressure, yikes. What is more crazy, he had some flops, but he thrived and became a household name. Absolutely insane.
