- Footage of the AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopter in action during training exercises including weapons load and AH-64 gunnery.
The Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American twin-turboshaft attack helicopter with a tailwheel-type landing gear arrangement and a tandem cockpit for a crew of two. It features a nose-mounted sensor suite for target acquisition and night vision systems. It is armed with a 30 mm (1.18 in) M230 chain gun carried between the main landing gear, under the aircraft's forward fuselage, and four hardpoints mounted on stub-wing pylons for carrying armament and stores, typically a mixture of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and Hydra 70 rocket pods. The AH-64 has significant systems redundancy to improve combat survivability.
The Apache began as the Model 77 developed by Hughes Helicopters for the United States Army's Advanced Attack Helicopter program to replace the AH-1 Cobra. The prototype YAH-64 was first flown on 30 September 1975. The U.S. Army selected the YAH-64 over the Bell YAH-63 in 1976, and later approved full production in 1982. After purchasing Hughes Helicopters in 1984, McDonnell Douglas continued AH-64 production and development. The helicopter was introduced to U.S. Army service in April 1986. The advanced AH-64D Apache Longbow was delivered to the Army in March 1997. Production has been continued by Boeing Defense, Space & Security, with over 2,400 AH-64s being produced by 2020.
The U.S. Army is the primary operator of the AH-64. It has also become the primary attack helicopter of multiple nations, including Greece, Japan, Israel, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. It has been built under license in the United Kingdom as the AgustaWestland Apache.
Formerly known as AH-64D Block III, in 2012, it was redesignated as AH-64E Guardian to represent its increased capabilities.
The AH-64E features improved digital connectivity, the Joint Tactical Information Distribution System, more powerful T700-GE-701D engines with upgraded face gear transmission to accommodate more power, capability to control unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), full IFR capability, and improved landing gear.
New composite rotor blades, which successfully completed testing in 2004, increase cruise speed, climb rate, and payload capacity.
Deliveries began in November 2011. Full-rate production was approved on 24 October 2012,[318] with 634 AH-64Ds to be upgraded to AH-64E standard and production of 56 new-build AH-64Es to start in 2019/20. Changes in production lots 4 through 6 shall include a cognitive decision aiding system and new self-diagnostic abilities. The updated Longbow radar has an oversea capacity, potentially enabling naval strikes; an AESA radar is under consideration. The E model is to be fit for maritime operations. The Army has expressed a desire to add extended-range fuel tanks to the AH-64E to further increase range and endurance. AH-64Es are to have the L-3 Communications MUM-TX datalink installed in place of two previous counterparts, communicating on C, D, L, and Ku frequency bands to transmit and receive data and video with all Army UAVs.Lots 5 and 6 will be equipped with Link 16 data-links.As of April 2020, 500 AH-64E have been delivered.

One of the sexiest attack helicopters ever made, hands down!
@Mario Maldonado Definitely, Sikorsky for sure makes some of the most beautiful helicopters too (in my opinion!) like the MH/CH-53 and the SH/UH-60
Lee Bartlett And me, they are sick boy!!!!
unzip!
@@Terracecasualx5 A true classic!!!
That's why I love living in Norfolk Va. These flyover nonstop
Dont think this is VA mate, thinking more like S. Korea

Something pretty damn ominous about that helicopter just hovering and not doing anything just hovering
whom ever was camping ⛺️ or hiking 🥾 that day got the 💩 scared out of them :V
AWESOME! That was sick nasty! The best AH the US has and one of the best in the world. Great vid Gordon 👍👌👊
Never Saw Ah64 Firing Stinger.
Thnks for the pictures.
THANK YOU! I was wondering what it was. Stinger makes a lot of sense too.
In my opinión the ah 64 E apache guardian is a 2.0 model of the original ah 64 apache
the POV looks so good 😳

It's so weird to see an AH-64 without the Longbow radar now. It almost seems naked
We took it all off in 2004
some have it, depends on the mission, all modern ah-64 d/e can be equipped with it
@@Oldmankingspiffy Why did they take it off?
@@xxnositxx not relevant in the wars we were fighting. They cost more to maintain than their usefulness in fighting gorilla warfare.
Majority of us prefer not to have it. A “flat top” is lighter, etc. without the FCR/RMI and all the “black boxes”.
That's awesome
That’s awesome
I liked this Hunter !
The Apache is a beast
BANGLADESH Air force is getting them soon😍😍
boi i love those helicopters
Coolest vehicle man has ever made
That's pretty badass machine
Baddest on the Battlefield.
7:05 pretty crazy how it can calculate the trajectory of the drone when you think about it
The missile knows where it is at all times, because it knows where it is not
Calculations but also a lot of control systems as well. Those missiles are expensive for a reason
@@Rodeo07 Lol the rest of the statement is a real head spinner!
@@therocinante3443 sure is
Just a regular air-to-air missile, we've had this tech since the late 50s. That wasn't an unguided rocket lol
Been flying 64s for over 23 years so far and have never heard an E model guy refer to her as a “Guardian”. We just call her a 64. A REMF in the pentagon came up with the lame guardian moniker.
no apache chief EEH NAY CHUCK or nothing?
Wow, 23 years, that's awesome. What's it like being the most bad ass thing in the sky? ;)
At just over 25 years now…….it’s a livin.
Hats off to you Woody. I've seen them flying over the fields in the East of England (there are a few USAF Bases there, plus the British RAF use them as well). They come off as very smooth and slick flying machines.
I am looking forward to see one at this upcoming Air Show soon.
How gorgeous 😍
Fires missiles and rockets. Could destroy my brick house with ease.
Nowhere to hide from these bad boys !
I got to get me one of those. They look like fun
There pretty cheap
Now that I know that South Korea has Apaches, I can give my bet on who would win in a South X North Korean war.
Lol it sure takes time to load the rockets and its all gone in one salvo. Im sure the one who reloaded it would be scratching his head xD
its like a good dinner. takes ages to prepare, gone in no time flat, but damn satisfying.
@@noinfo9130 lol truer words spoken there my friend.
Absolute Baddasses.
Can't believe he didn't ground the rockets before inserting, waiting for static charge

That's why civilians should be allowed to own them. The second amendment is pretty clear about letting us have the same weapons as the military!
@@therocinante3443 And who's gonna enforce that piece of paper? That's right, the military.

Who got a 10 killstreak?
Is it true that helicopter is harder to fly than a plane?
If you really want to know. Try playing DCS (Digital Combat Simulator) which has both planes and helicopters. In my experience with simulators, helicopters are harder to fly than planes.
@@TerraZetzz thanks for the tip
Much harder, you need to be able to nod your head whilst rubbing your stomach whilst blinking your eyes and picking your nose whilst talking.
Then you can take off.
I've heard it described this way - "Flying a fixed wing is like riding a bicycle, while flying a helicopter is like riding a unicycle."
Can I just ask how was the marine getting shot by a sniper be allowed to be published
What vid

South Korean or Japan army use the Apache?
I think both are using it
both
North Koreans.
South Korean = 72 AH-64E Apache Guardian in service. (The Apache helicopter in the video belongs to ROK ARMY.)
Japan = 11 AH-64D Apache service.

Why'd they never put a vulcan on that bad boy
From what I understand it's because they wouldn't be able to carry enough ammo to be worth it, and the gun being at least twice as heavy as what it's got would further degrade performance/payload. It's mostly meant to be an area effect weapon, so rapidly throwing down what are essentially dozens of hand grenades in an area is good enough.
This looks like Rodriguez range lol
omg
a very bad day indeed for any tank column coming in this bad asses way. Maybe a couple dozen to our brothers in the Ukraine?

Easy, tovarisch, don't labour the point so! People will become suspicious!
Remember the words of Tovarisch Kalugin: Effective agitprop will be all encompassing, but above all _subtle!_ Besides, the S.V.R. isn't paying you enough to write essays. Keep it simple, tovarisch. You are writing for Americans after all, and not the bright ones!
What no Americans left in the us army to load the Helicopter. sad
They use North Koreans now fella.
