It's a garage find....not a barn find, with a CE motor or counter exchange back then. The owner seems to be a very nice man, easy to talk to...another nice post Patrick!
I remember these guys when they were in thier glory days.I love hearing them reminense.Im blessed to be trusted by many for the maintenance and long storage of many muscle and pony cars of the era.I agree with you Patrick they are still out there.
My dream car is a 1969 Nova. Many memories growing up with my big brother driving in his when I was a little kid. We always talked about building one together for me, which was always a dream of mine. But life got in the way. And my brother which was also my best friend, my best man at my wedding, the guy I looked up to and my Hero was in a tragic accident almost 5 years ago. I'm just hoping one day I'm financially stable enough to build be able to buy and build a Nova the way we always talked about..
Then you never drove a GM product with the T400 series transmission. They were amazing, second gear hit so hard, the rear tires would chirp and you never missed a shift. The daily drive was more pleasant.
When I was a young buck in The Corps in the mid 70's I bought a '65 vette Roadster with the 396 425 HP engine (forget the designation)...it was during the first arab fuel embargo and muscle cars were selling cheap...I paid $3,700 for it...drove it for 2 years and sold it for $4,950 (In one day...I may have had it under priced!)...I wanted to keep it but I was in Engineering College, money was tight and it got 9 MPG if you kept your foot out of the throttle. Needless to say she was damn fast and I had a blast driving the pants off her.
This was back when the Steel Mill was pumping out orange dust on everything crazy how the paint looks that good remember visiting my aunt back then with the orange sky
If you had a highly valuable car, you would be a fool not to auction it at Barrett Jackson when it came time to sell. How many cars have you and Patrick sold at Barrett Jackson? Oh that's what I thought.!!!
He said he went down with cash in hand. Patrick says so you had your dad co sign because you were a teen. Guy says no I was an adult. Guy says I wanted a 375 auto and I couldn't get one locally. He didnt go to buy a Yenko. It's where the car of his liking was found. Patrick is baiting him to say he opted out of the Yenko conversion. Hell he didnt know what a Yenko was.
I grew up in the same town as Yenko chevy. I remember seeing these cars on the street back in the day when I was teenager. Funny thing is directly across the street from the original Yenko location was the last remaining Mercury only dealer in USA. Here is the original Yenko location www.google.com/maps/@40.2583169,-80.2023044,3a,75y,140.61h,87.24t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sogFKKAeSbtF0IsDE7P2emA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
I would think you could line this green car up next to the supposed new blue 427 Yenko that just surfaced and see fairly quickly if the blue one is authentic or not? I would love for the blue car to be authentic, but it seems there are some issues. This green car is very cool.
Mark G yes very vague and if you write something about it possibly not being a Yenko car just a L78 that they were going to sell without becoming a super car conversion your statement disappears as three of mine have on here so far. In my opinion it was to be sold as just what it is a L78, I believe this because they actually sold big block cars that wasn't converted and because it was a automatic car. There's no documentation that it was ever or ever going to be a Super car conversion, and with him deleteing all my statements just because I want more proof than someone repetitively stateing that it is a Yenko I smell a dead rat.
I wrote in my comments on the car video that just because it came from yenko does not mean that It was a special car and they were hyping it up to get more cash. Dirty tricks.
A Nova sold from Yenko's lot is not exactly a Yenko Nova (badging, Torque Thrust wheels). Proof that Yenko intended to convert it may not exist, you'd have to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
All the yenko cars for 1969 had the 427 installed at the factory, not at the dealership like before. This is common knowledge. Patrick has no clue. This car was NEVER going to be a yenko.
Well of course they're going to keep offering to do the conversion. They will make a lot more profit selling their conversion over a plain Jane 396!! He even says he got it almost 15% off MSRP sticker.
Dude for the last time that damn nova is not i repeat not a fucking yenko nova it is NOT!!!!! Even if don himself put his hands on it,it still is not a yenko
I used to do this back in the 80's in the southeast.Worked for a restoration shop that shipped a boatload of Hemi cars to Japan and the Arab emirates back around 1990.There are more real Hemi cars in Japan than there are in this country.
Seriously , where’s the freakin car !! Ok we’re live at the miss universe beauty pageant !! Here are our five judges , the girls will be walking out on the stage in just a few moments !! Thanks for tuning in , and goodnight !! DID I MAKE MY POINT !!
It’s kind of similar to a guy in town that owned a 69 charger rt since new. It had a later vin number so he always said that it could have been a Daytona but never was. Just a Charger RT still cool but just a story.
Vintage Creations no sir not even close to the sane. This car is backed up by dead proof with solid documents to prove it was ordered by Don Yenko exactly with all the pre existing equipment to be a super car candidate. Only 37 or less of those were ever produced and only solid proof exists for 2 of the 37 actually entered the Super Car program and we’re converted to 427. Theodore this car is the only automatic to ever surface and is 1 of less than 37 that’s not a story that’s a fact and it’s real with real documents.
Patrick Glenn Nichols Musclecar Barn Finds just curious but if yenko ordered these cars for the super car program why wouldn’t they just convert them all if that’s what they were intended for. At Mr. Norms he would modify any Mopar to the customers liking but also sold cars that were not modified. They still hold a certain value being a mr. norms car though but unmodified.
I could never understand the reason why anyone would keep a car like that for so many years and not do anything with it or sell it to someone that could restore it . For me, it just seems like such a waste why even have it , just to say you do ? But just my personal thoughts.
Wow, great story. So close to being a super car but its a super car to me. Do we say COPOish. The last of the mean ones. Solid lifter 396 ended after 69. Nova's are lighter than Camaros. Turbo 400 considered the strongest auto trans ever built in the world back then and faster than any manual trans. Bla Bla.
Watch out Patrick will kick your ass at a car show, for not spelling correct. Because nobody has the right to question him or correct him on anything. A mere 18 miles he says, is a long damn ways where I come from.!!
Opinions are what we look for here whether they are informed or correct is another matter. The car is definitely a rare piece of Yenko history.
Well said, I think it's a great story, keep 'em coming Patrick!
Is it in the Yenko registry yet?
@@lskiller1903 No, because it's not a Yenko.
It's a garage find....not a barn find, with a CE motor or counter exchange back then. The owner seems to be a very nice man, easy to talk to...another nice post Patrick!

I don’t know much about cars but I really enjoy these videos. I love the stories and the history. Really cool. Thanks!
My favorite color of nova. Just about the perfect nova in my opinion.
I can not imagine SEEKING OUT an automatic back then..
Then you never drove a GM product with the T400 series transmission. They were amazing, second gear hit so hard, the rear tires would chirp and you never missed a shift. The daily drive was more pleasant.
Because it was a luxury and it was faster
Patrick, can you say 'alright alright alriiiiight' for me just once?
it's great to hear the story that is with the car not to many out there.
How cool........
You just never know!
Thanks for sharing.
Great story. Thank you
Great story, would love to see the car...
ruclips.net/video/qePcHJNpx9A/видео.html
Thank you Dennis!
Thanks for getting this interview. Real World verses all the Barrett Jackson show business BS.
If you had a highly valuable car, you would be a fool not to auction it at Barrett Jackson when it came time to sell. How many cars have you and Patrick sold at Barrett Jackson? Oh that's what I thought.!!!
Awesome story one rare nova love it hope get it run so he can drive it again would love to see him drive it ✌️❤️love ur vids
Best story ever. I almost cried
I was going to be a brain surgeon, but I opted out on it. But I do tell people to call me Doctor Thomas. Sound familiar?
Fantastic series of videos so so enjoyable
BAHAHABAHAHA exactly.!!!
Ignorant comparison. Not even remotely close to the situation here and this car’s significance to the Yenko legacy.
He said he went down with cash in hand. Patrick says so you had your dad co sign because you were a teen. Guy says no I was an adult. Guy says I wanted a 375 auto and I couldn't get one locally. Patrick, did you buy it?
He wanted a radio but not the 427 !!!!!
you must be to young to understand
Ha ha what a riot to listen to-thanks for sharing!
Was this a column shift Nova? My friend Michael Schofield had the same exact car & color from Lee Chevrolet in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Where is this car now?
So the 64,000 question is, what's the car worth, what does it need to make it valuable, where do u go from here with it
Vague. The owner says he guesses it was supposed to be converted.
Mark G yes very vague and if you write something about it possibly not being a Yenko car just a L78 that they were going to sell without becoming a super car conversion your statement disappears as three of mine have on here so far. And if the car was put in his dad's name , seems like it would make it a two owner car
A Nova sold from Yenko's lot is not exactly a Yenko Nova (badging, Torque Thrust wheels). Proof that Yenko intended to convert it may not exist, you'd have to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
cool story
No pictures??

the 1 telling you. Where can that be verified?
you sir are incorrect they were installed at yenkos dealership as it was not a gm option at the factory.
Rich Feagin Wrong..Chevrolet would not put the L-72 427 in the nova under the copo program. Yes for chevelles and camaros..
Well of course they're going to keep offering to do the conversion. They will make a lot more profit selling their conversion over a plain Jane 396!! He even says he got it almost 15% off MSRP sticker.
Cool story Bro. I wonder if there are any chevette owners that bought from Yenko out there.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 EXACTLY!!!
Dude for the last time that damn nova is not i repeat not a fucking yenko nova it is NOT!!!!! Even if don himself put his hands on it,it still is not a yenko

Jim Younger the car in prior video and we'll garaged not even touched sinnce 78
Should have shot pics of the car , filter them in as he was talking would have been awesome
Then it would hurt the RUclips content he's milking out of it. All this BS is for profit nothing more.
"Thank you Mathew McConaughey" said my girlfriend.
plowboynheartland yenko me bawsak😉
Alright, alright, alright!
what does McConaughey have to do with this? dummy
It’s kind of similar to a guy in town that owned a 69 charger rt since new. It had a later vin number so he always said that it could have been a Daytona but never was. Just a Charger RT still cool but just a story.

Sounds like Patrick knows more about the car than the owner, WTF!!!
Why didn't you show the car?
Cool.
$3,0050 bucks WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy sure wasn't particular in anything ....why didn't he just get a straight six . Two motors and it still doesn't run
this girl one time yenko me bawsak 😂
You could said an eight running on six cylinders.
Man i would've loved to had seen the car, why didn't he show it?
It's called milking the story for RUclips content.
Where's the damn car?
There is another video of the car
This commentator bought it !
So is this a COPO car then?
No. A pedestrian 396 Nova.
Chevrolet flat out refused to build a COPO 427 Nova for anyone, Camaros and Chevelles only .
I could never understand the reason why anyone would keep a car like that for so many years and not do anything with it or sell it to someone that could restore it . For me, it just seems like such a waste why even have it , just to say you do ? But just my personal thoughts.
people don't realize how short life is, he thought he would get to it
yenko me bawsak🐨😰
Wow, great story. So close to being a super car but its a super car to me. Do we say COPOish. The last of the mean ones. Solid lifter 396 ended after 69. Nova's are lighter than Camaros. Notten show me pics at 931-241-9908 or pnichols26@yahoo.com
Cannonsburgh Pa not Pittsburgh
joelp19761 Cannonsburg not Cannonsburgh. And that’s a mere 18 Miles from Pittsburgh so it’s documented correctly. Thanks for watching.
Well if butchered so be it. If you want to see some nice cars go the Cadet in Kitanning or the car shows in Butler
Watch out Patrick will kick your ass at a car show, for not spelling correct. Because nobody has the right to question him or correct him on anything. A mere 18 miles he says, is a long damn ways where I come from.!!
b/s...if thats not matthew mcconahee...their aint a cow in texas.............
charlotte quillen you're so original clown
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS NOVAS ARE FRIGGIN UGLY LOOKING CARS.

Not the most interesting story I've ever heard so as it goes he bought it broke it and didn't care and ............
