I love these fans. Had a chance to buy one cheap 35 years ago and did not. Now one in even bad condition can sell for over $1000 US! Thanks for this video!
That fan is just amazing and the only I have ever seen running or for that matter the only one I have ever seen except in pictures. I collect hot air fans and your statement is so correct, "World's finest hot air fan". That fan runs so much smoother, quieter, and even longer after the heat source is removed. . . than any of my 7 hot air fans. What an amazing fan and wonderful restoration. Your fan is a work of art. Thank you for posting the video. I have watched it over and over!
This is the most impressive sterling engine I have ever seen! Is there any blueprints in existence that shows the dimensioning or a breakdown of how this is made I’m a tool maker, precision machinist by trade, and also an extreme hobbyist I would love to remanufacture one of these.
I have seen another such Stirling Fan on RUclips but don't remember where. If this was driven by a Manson engine the fan would slow down immediately, might start up faster too.. This is a Beta model?
I'm sorry I don't know of any plans available. There are certainly many other stirling engine plans around. This was a commercial product rather than a kit.
You know, with all the custom castings, and linkages, this must have been a fan that was mass produced in quantity. I wonder where they all went. What a treasure! Thanks for posting.
Yes, mass produced but probably in small quantities for the European market. Few survivors today, although the same maker produced the "Jost" hot air fans, many thousands of which were sold in India. Original Jost fans are now also rare, but many more have survived compared to his model.
if anything I do think that if the exact dimensions of the parts and or the original designs where easier to find, a lot of machinists would love to make their own!
These are SO BEAUTIFUL! I'm hoping to RE-INVENT the wheel and chase these stirling-like designs. Out of curiosity, anybody know how to REMOVE the tapping sounds that go with these engines?
+riderericsson interesting, it only vibrated for a moment so it may have not had one! It's astonishing though, beautiful fan and a true treasure if you have one.

What a beautiful machine and still has a great utility. Congratulations.
Excelent. Very nice

Nos recuerda como la ingeniería antigua formó nuestro mundo y aun funciona, simple y segura, saludos desde Morón estado Carabobo Venezuela 🇻🇪 👍
It's a lovely piece, but I can't imagine the irony.
"Honey it's really hot in here, can you light the fan please?"
exactly backwards. lol
I’m really impressed how it still kept running with out electricity and without heat lamp
It continues to function with the residual heat and thanks to the weight of the flywheel. Truly a magnificent piece of history and engineering.

Imagine finding one of these at a Goodwill....
Very good stirling engioen pakistan
People back then; smarter than those today... Your Iphone won't be working that long after it was made!

I'm sorry but there are no blueprints or drawings that I am aware of and unfortunately I am no longer its owner.

Least portable fan in existence, but still beautiful
How do you make fan with hot air would like to do this in garage to warm air up with a fan so whole garage gets warm.
Great Fan, what is the over all height? and diameter of the flywheel?
Any ideal where plans may be purchased. Or detailed high Q photos of a complete engine disassembled over grid paper to help scale this engine?

Has anyone produced a set of drawings for this engine? I would love to build it.
im with you there mate, would love to build one did you ever find any plans
@@peterparsons3297 No, I did not. Still looking.
i wish some one made a full size casting kit for it.
Ive never seen one for sale, ill bet it was not cheap .
Absolutely Marvelous!!!!
It shows how evolution has change its way to consumism. Where we could be.
how much does something like this cost on open market?
Is there no retainer on the bottom of the cage? Saw it vibrating quite hard after the lamp was removed.
I'm not sure. The cage was missing and had to be made based on a single catalog drawing. I'm not aware of any other surviving examples.

very beautiful
How does it work?
Is it a steam engine?
It's a hot air or stirling engine. It works by expanding and contracting air acting on an internal piston.
Very nice.
Very nice
Superb.
Sir, is this for sale?
I want to buy it please 😊❤
Sorry it's not for sale.
@@riderericsson
Well, I hope you have a wonderful day 🥺

I want one too 😮
Made about 120 years ago.
Ohh super
So cute, but despite it doesn't use electricity, the oil is polluting
Greta says "HOW DARE YOU", entire ecosystems are dying because of this fan.
