The + claims it charges to 50% in 30 mins, while the non plus powerline III claims 58% in 30 mins. So is the less expensive one actually faster or am i missing something?
I noticed that too on the sight. I probably buy the cheaper one. I'm guessing the newer one is just built stronger with newer tech. But probably still slower lmao.
Really good quality cable as expected from Anker, backed by usual high level warranty service. Powerline III USB C especially is slimmer and less stiff than the Powerline II version that had a bit too much cable memory due to the thick calibre. However, worth pointing out that Powerline II USB C cable has been updated to support USB 3.1 data transfer speeds. Powerline III USB C cable remains at USB 2.0 speed for data transfer. Not a big deal if the purpose of the USB C cable is for charging since both versions can accommodate 65W.
@@jamaldeandredavion5223 The wires might need to be thicker to support the higher data transfer speed. If the Powerline III cable was slimmed by reducing wire gauge rather than outer jacket thickness compared with Powerline II, this could mean that Powerline III is not capable of supporting 3.1 transfer speeds. Just look at a Thunderbolt cable and you’ll see just how massive it is in comparison.
@@jerome_morrow thanks for the explanation. Just curious, I’m deciding between the USB c powerline+ iii vs the regular USB version. What would you say is better
@@jamaldeandredavion5223 The + designation just means that it is Anker’s most premium design. Braided cable, stainless steel body around the plugs and, at least in the past, used to come with a rather nice carrying pouch with Velcro tie. Not sure if they still provide the pouch since I’ve not bought a + cable in two years. Higher price tag over the regular version as expected for the premium finishings. Trouble is, the Powerline III (+ or regular version) is just 60w power delivery and 480Mbps data transfer speed. The big advantage with Anker is that all their Powerline cables have a true lifetime warranty which they will uphold with no quibbles. If the cable splits with normal wear and tear use after two years, they will still replace it for free. If you want a reasonably priced good quality cable similar to Anker, but carries 100w power delivery, 10Gbps data transfer and 4K video, I would suggest this one www.ugreen.com/products/100w-pd-usb-c-cable I have personally bought many uGreen cables via Aliexpress. I'm installing a head unit in my '07 Toyota RAV4. Do you know if Anker offers a USB3 with an adapter I can snap into an open spot? I understand quality cables make a difference.
It depends which version you have. There are a few special Powerline II's which are made for file transfer (3.1, and thus 10gbps), though the III and + III are like the II and + III charging cables, because the 4 operate on USB 2.0, though the data speeds even for 2.0 is pretty reliable, compared to cheaper end cable, though as far as I know III can withstand even more power/watts though
