I had a small piece of fur which was used for the tail. I used a Dollar Tree mens scarf and cut down to size. I used gel wood stain from hardware store. Black paint from DT for tips of feet. • @thecraftyshopper4007

      Hi Jill, I used part DT ones and a little smaller than the regular size ones. Here in Canada we have 3 sizes. I have only seen the one size of jenga at DT, I call them minis because they are smaller than the 2 other sizes we can get. Now I have heard from fellow US crafters that you can get them at 5 below, also heard some crafters can get them at Walmart. But you can use all DT ones. The only difference will be the size of the reindeer. I've already seen a few crafters make them with only the DT ones. You will just have to play around with it, you could also use little wood cubes too. Hood that helps, I do have a picture up on my Facebook page, The Crafty Shopper. I tried making your windmill, but doubled the legs like you did here and they ended up all wonky and crooked even though I used my framing square. It is cause they are all different sizes. Well I'm still trying to figure this out. I've have been told by some crafters their is 2 sizes sold in DT, I've only seen one size. So I am referring the ones I use as mini. Now, if you want to do the face, like the one I used, you can use the minis but you will have to cut some pieces to give it that 3D dimensional look , you can also improvise with wood cubes. Hope that helps !

      Hi Dena, I'm from Ontario, I used the smaller jenga blocks from Dollarama in the blue box for the main body, I believe it's $4 a box. I know dollarama sells the burgundy box of jenga for $4. I thought maybe you were from the American side.

      Hi Jason, I'm in Canada and I'm able to find 3 different sizes. I believe the mini are the DT ones but I've also been told DT sells to different sizes, I'm not sure if that's only in the US. In Dollarama here in Canada, they sell the regular size ones and one size smaller. Regardless of size of the jenga it's still will work as many crafters made my other crafts using the DT ones. The only thing you will have to do is cut down the DT ones in order to get the 3D effect for the face. I hope that makes sense 😀

    Did you use the dollar tree little blocks or the bigger blocks? I’m using the bigger blocks like the Jenga size and the neck is coming out not like yours. It’s coming out too big so I’m not sure what size blocks I should be using. 🤔🤦🏻‍♀️

      Good morning Tracy, I used both but here in Canada we have 3 sizes. I have posted a picture on my Facebook page, The Crafty Shopper. I have a picture that shows the dimensions of each one. Unfortunately RUclips doesn't let me post a picture here. I've heard 2 different things that DT carries 2 sizes but here in Canada we just get the smaller ones. You can make the deer using either sizes with the other one. I've had a few crafters already make it using the only the DT ones aswell as regular ones. The back on the neck is placed showing wider side of the block and front of the neck the blocks are showing the narrow side and the width is smaller than the back, giving that dimensional look, hope that makes sense.

    • @thecraftyshopper4007
      @thecraftyshopper4007  2 года назад

      Sometimes the blocks are a little off in size. Try matching the legs along lining them up against the ruler to make sure they are even. When using weld bond, I left them over night before I even touched them. The minis as I referred to them at the time are the DT blocks. I do have another tutorial using just DT blocks for the head. They are the same format (number of blocks) as this reindeer. Nose is a glass vase filler spray and painted red.
