Theory: Sonic is unconscious after defeating Robotnik and the Dark Emerald saved Sonic from falling to his death, and used a spell by itself to keep Sonic alive and unconscious, so he can heal to where it’s stable for him to move around after the fall.
For the Savior ending that is.

This looks like it's been inspired by Sonic 2 for Game Gear,since that game's Plot also revolves around saving Tails
In the bad ending,he most likely dies
but in the good ending there is both sonic and tails drawn in the sky
so
1 he is just still prisonner in the bad ending
2 they are both dead in the good ending

It's actually the Sonic 2 Super Sonic theme pinched down. Maybe also edited slightly to sound more screwed up.
