  • People keep asking how to generate source. So I wanted to put together a quick intro on 3 simple to set up source generators
    This pack was put together by me for the AN Discord Community. Primarily designed to be a lightweight pack for quick updates any time Ars Nouveau updates. The overall theme is magical automation using Ars Nouveau

    if youre ever using ars nouveau with create, making an automatic blazing archwood farm is a great way to make source, because archwood trees growing gives extra source to a agronomical sourcelink, and blazing archwood logs give extra source to a volcanic sourcelink

    Awesome video! way easier farms to make than the "source squisher", and they seem to produce a good amount of source! I never actually thought of using logs for the volcanic sourcelink, I was about to experiment with using an auto bamboo farm with it though, I guess we'll see how that turns out.

      How did the auto bamboo farm do

    • @TheAetherleaf
      @TheAetherleaf 2 года назад +3

      @@benshorthouse2979 not great, it didn't even warrant a video because bamboo gives so little source, and the sourcelink can't turn it into source fast enough for it to be at all worth it lol, a lava farm with dripstone seems like an okay choice for the volcanic sourcelink but as far as I know it's only semi-automatable.

    This is still real awesome.

      After watching the video, this gives me more methods for source generating, did not know about the mycelium variant that consumes food products.
      I was bummed out initially about the bookwyrm, trying to figure out uses and now i've got one to scribble down and branch off from it.
      Didn't think about adding additional lava variants. It's incredibly strong if you live in the forest full of the Ars trees. I think an intermediate caster could easily do bulk logging and growth for the blazing logs to feed that system.
      Thanks Zieg!

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  2 года назад +1

      @@pipbernadotte3730 I've got a setup that grows and then chops down the blazing archwood in one tick, it runs on an observer clock so I've got tons of wood to throw at it.
      As far as bookwyrms, it's pretty hard to find uses, but in general they can cast any touch or projectile spell straight down.

    For volcanic sourcelink making a kelp farm really helped out

  • @fuzzy-02
    @fuzzy-02 Год назад +6

    You can feed the volcanic one lava too. It's possible to semi automate taking the lava from underneath, feeding it to it and placing stone back down.
    But... the upfront effort taken makes it practically useless when you can get wood so easily

    It get's a little bit broken, when you have "create" in addition to Ars Noveum. Pull infinite lava, and feed lava buckets to the volcanic sourcelink...
    Just leaving this here, as both are pretty commonly found in many packs nowadays~

    • @pipbernadotte3730
      @pipbernadotte3730 2 года назад

      You're saying that in theory, a technicality recycle lava produced by volcanic sourcelinks? Was not aware of that..

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  2 года назад +3

      @@pipbernadotte3730 you can, but the volcanic sourcelink works with a hidden "heat" variable. Once it generates enough heat then when it gets a random tick it can melt stone into magma and then into lava. The problem is that I don't think one bucket of lava generates enough heat to then convert stone to lava

      Hello Mr. 777,
      I really enjoy your videos, I just discovered your Ars Nouveau series.
      I’m trying to learn Ars while playing Medieval Minecraft.
      It would be great if you would make an in depth Ars Nouveau tutorial, and maybe even play Medieval.
      Thanks for making very good videos.

    So, what happens to the arcane pedestals that are currently on the Stone Blocks when they change to Lava? Or does it only change stone that has nothing on them?

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  Год назад +2

      It only changes specifically stone to magma and then to lava. But also this is Minecraft remember, we don't care about gravity unless you're using sand or gravel. The pedestal will happily sit above lava

      Not connecting? The output of the hopper should point to where it is going. it'll only take a single item at a time though. I usually will [shift] (crouch) right click on the destination to place the hopper

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  9 месяцев назад +1

      It's always "from A to B". So for a squirrel to take items, you want to go from the chest to the squirrel. Shift right click the chest first, then regular right click the starbuncle

    Where do you find the wilden mobs

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  11 месяцев назад

      1.19 and 1.20 new worlds, they no longer spawn in regular hostile mob conditions, and instead spawn in dens which are honestly pretty hard to find. Big mound structures on the surface. Instead, id go with the summon wilden ritual. You'll get at least one of each. There is a recipe for it with vanilla items, not just the one that uses wilden parts

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  Год назад +1

      You can find them mostly in cold forests such as taiga. If you're in a version with archwood forests, that's a great way to find them easily.
      Otherwise, I've found them in dungeon chests or ruined nether portal chests and in nether fortress Chests

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  2 года назад +1

      Ah yes. The bookwyrm is getting a complete overhaul for 1.19. The functionality here will be replaced by a harvest ritual instead, while the bookwyrm will become part of an inventory system.
      I don't think the ritual is out yet, 1.19 is still very young

    but all the damn methods shown USE source to get source.. if you don't have any how the heck do you get them... I've mined for hours and found 1 source gem...

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  9 месяцев назад

      If you're on a version that has source gems as an ore (1.16) then I highly suggest spending your first few gems on a crystalizer. They don't need source to make gems. Just stick a hopper under it and it'll produce one every 15 minutes without providing source.
      1.18+, gems are no longer found as ore, but are produced in the imbuement chamber instead.
      As for generating source, once you get 2 gems to make a source link, volcanic is very straightforward since it can burn any standard furnace fuel such as coal or charcoal

    where to find source berry?

    • @Zieg777
      @Zieg777  2 года назад

      Easiest places to find them growing are colder biomes. Taiga in particular. But you can also find them in the ruined nether portal chests as well as nether fortresses. If you are in 1.16 or 1.19, then you can also find the archwood forest (various issues made them not exist in 1.18)
