Hmmm It looks freaking amazing but at first I thought it was going to be a sequel to the first one which would have got my attention more but it still looks damn good
Actually from the footage from the Machinima people, thats the biggest jump (looks like the right height for a fast jump off that one) in the game, and by god the jump looks fun!
Ok guys the game does has customization which can also be accessed during races
The point of UG 1+2 was to take normal cars and tune them and personalize them which added lasting value.
No i work for ign and we wrote an artcle about the statement of on of the lead developers at criterion that there game will be the ultimate social game, so we've never said that, we just quoted there statement and they quoted it back

This is one of my most wanted games.
People need to just stfu about Underground. The only reason those games were even released was to capitalize on the success of the fast and the furious movies. The whole tuner scene died a while ago. And while those games were good, they were not the end all, be all of racing games. I for one am very excited for this game, since I love Criterion.
Unfortunately you are, customization is what made NFS popular in the first place, back in it's roots with Underground 1 & 2, Pro Street, the OG Most Wanted....so I agree with @JR Trackz, if there's no body work that can be applied, allow getting it, even though I probably will :L

Besides the shift series, name me any NFSes that were remotely realistic

need for speed originated without tuning. need for speed is about fast cars.. cop chases.. and even faster cars. not tuning up a VW golf that can keep up with a bugatti veyron.. this new most wanted is arcade bliss.. if criterion are anything to go by this game will be amazing.. its burnout paradise with licensed cars.

As it seems, it lacks the Burnout Paradise's damage system. Apart from that, it's perfect.

the reason i like need for speed because underground. it different from other racing games.. now it just good graphic.. that why i only play GT5 and Forza now.

NFS was never about that, it was a spin-off to try something different.
It worked, until after Most Wanted, Pro Street, Carbon and Undercover were clearly inferior.
Then Shift and Shift 2 were also good, despite being more oriented to simulation.
This series is good, but it's so damn divisive...
It's the same with music, regarding a band, it's always the same thing.
You just can't please everyone.
But I like how sometimes in Paradise the car gets totally fucked up :) GRID was indeed a good game, but it was damn too easy. Even on highest difficulty level, the only affected aspect was the amount of replays you had.

No, no. I mean the damage itself. Many racing games these days bring a "damage" system which simply shows the car getting dirty. It sucks, man. I wanna see real damage, you know? Like we had in GRID, if you want another example.

I still prefer underground, carbon and old most wanted over all the newer ones...
I know, I have UG 1, loved it when I was a little kid, but I prefer my cars now un-bastardized by the aftermarket, like say a Ford Mustang, I like mine pure, not cut to pieces with a Razor then have stupid shit put on it.
Ahh, ok. :P You should've said GRID's damage system, cuz that one is pretty nice ^^ Grid was a good game, although they didnt have that many different cars and tuning. But the feel of the gameplay was good.

lol i dont care for customization or any of that overrated crap.. so that kind of shit does not other me in the slightest. its a small thing really. burnout paradise in MY favorite arcade racer and that had NO customization other than colors and decals.. and that was a very social game, had hours and hours of fun with that game with people "socializing" with no body kit in sight. this is made by criterion the ones who made BP they KNOW how to make a racing game FUN!!! now your point is INVALID!

They want the money right, they want sales right, they want people to go to their friends and recommend the game right... then why get rid of something people love, they don't need to make a shit car faster than fast car like you said, but body kits to make your car unique, they said its the most social game, not that social if everyone is driving the same car with a different color, they also wanted to make it fairly realistic, you can customize cars in real life... your point is invalid.
an arcade game doesnt have to be "realistic" just FUN.. jheeze some people are so friggin picky.. if you want a "realistic" game go play forza or gt n leave the arcade racers to less picky people
NFS without visual tuning (but with performance tuning), is more like the original NFSpeeds, without all the shitty ricer cars that you need custom parts to make them look "cool"
I do believe it has been said Black Box will be no longer making Need for Speeds after their latest attempts have not gone so well, like the Run, Undercover, Pro Street.
I loved NFS U2, because of the extensive customizations and the good gameplay (for that period) Hope it comes back in a cleaner way more classy, looks like it though :) But you got a point tuners are for kids and big ass cars are for men. ;)

Ehh,, GT5 and Forza ? Aren't those track based games? Only NFS you could compare that to is NFS Shift. Most Wanted has an open world to drive in.

the game has performance customazation. Power up ur engine, that kinda stuff. For painting, u just drive throught a pain shop
Nfs is always fun and with such a graphics its an fun experience .comparing it to simulator games is a act of stupidity.
