Thank God for your honesty. I have a lazy eye and people have always said, "It makes your eyes looking interesting". I never believed them. Your lazy eye gives your eyes character and interest. There is no need to excuse it.
I won a Launchpad Pro a few years ago from Sweetwater and I've never really used it. In my new role as MD, I've been utilizing my own loops and have never needed it quite as much as now.
Great Job! Love the way u presented this new tool and thought u connected well with the audience through the video! Keep it up and hope to see more videos from u as well. 👍🏼😃
Excellent job! Focused content, practical examples and to the point! Great sense of humor as always. Keep it up Ashton! You're a boss! re: "Please be sure to point out any mistakes Ashton makes in this video as he was given full control over the entire process. He needs to build some character." You made one small error... you said Row when you meant Column... around 4:20 talking about Chorus and Bridge.
THANKS YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!!! 👍🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I spent hours today researching for a looptimus alternative because we don’t have a guitar player and wanted to do something with pads. Again thanks 🙏🏽.
Hi @Churchfront with Jake Gosselin , is it possible to use launchpad as a substitute to the other full-band instruments? We're a small, starting church in Asia with no musician (just myself as an accoustic guitarist) and very minimum budget. I'm thinking of using launchpad along with the Abbleton lite that comes with the launchpad to cover for the drum, keyboard etc. Is it possible to do a solo launchpad praise and worship service?
Life&Style we have the same situation and we’re going to use it the same way you are considering. I will work with no problem. You’re just gonna need in ear monitors to hear the guide cues.
Awesome and informative video. We just got our launchpad mini and run our Ableton in Arrangement mode like you guys. Is there a way to light up the buttons on the launchpad? I have each row set up to trigger a song (row 1 = song 1) and then each column is set up to go to a marker within the song row, if that makes sense. Just wanted to see if I can make it easier on the eyes for which button needs to be pressed to go to a spontaneous moment.
Hey Ben, I tried for a long time to figure out how to get the buttons to light up and there is a way, but it's not very practical. The launchpad reads MIDI tracks in session view, so if you set up midi tracks in session that have a note linked to the locator you want to cue, then it will light up. The only issue is, when you cue those tracks it takes Ableton out of the "default arrangement" (ie. the red button shows up in the top right of your arrangement and all your tracks get greyed out) , so then your tracks stop playing. I honestly haven't found a way to fix this, and sometimes it does actually work without breaking the set, but the work it takes to make all those MIDI cues is just too much in my opinion. I have the Launchpad organized pretty much the same way as you, and after using it for a couple months it get's a lot easier knowing from muscle memory what button is where. If you find a way to do that though, let me know, would be pretty cool, but as far as I know there isn't a way to do it unless you run Ableton completely in session view.
@@ashtonjoshuaturner1055 that's what I found out this morning when I was playing more with it. What I did to get them to light up was made dummy tracks in Session view. Like you said, not super practical because it takes it out of default arrangement. Thanks so much for this video and for responding. It has helped me think differently about how I program things!
Man great stuff! Have been looking to get this for exactly what you are using it and got some great ideas of how to do it with this video. What keyboard/controller are you using in the video? I need one like yours that has enough empty space without buttons that i can just set my nk2 and launchpad
The keyboard in the video is the Novation 61 SL MKIII which is an amazing keyboard but a bit overkill for our worship context... currently rocking the Novation Launchkey 61 and its perfect. Has enough faders to map to the Sunday Keys template for mainstage and then has a perfect spot on the right for the launchpad. It's been working super well for us, and its really inexpensive.
Hi, I'm from Germany, Dresden and we play with a full band setup every sunday. To create sounds to use it with Ableton is a lot of fun but also it needs several minutes... which patterns, sounds, pads etc. you use for sunday and is it really helpful because you can play different things direct by the guitar player or by the piano etc...? We are in the beginner prozess to use Ableton live on stage and we have all the hardware but the time to create different things and to use this on sunday is a big wall to climb for us...

I am studying for my future church. helped a lot. you are not that ugly.

Hi awesome tutorial, but I have a question tho
Can I use a different DAW software (LIKE FL STUDIO 12)?
This little device looks amazing! I wonder if you can connect it to an iPad and use it with Prime app 🧐
Excellent video!
