Jeff can you please tell me if the black plastic ball on top of the cover before de trimlite system is used as a "bar stopper"? I mean, I can move it down if I want to stop the bar before it reaches the top? I don't see any place explaining that... Thanks!
yes any 4 line equal length bar will work with any 4 line kites designed for 4 equal line bars (after 2009). u could use 2010 bar w any brand 2016 kite.. but the new bars tend to have improved saftey and simplicity feature so it is worth upgrade sometimes
Are all lines the same length when the bar is fully powered? Is this compatible to LF and Slingshot kites? I am undecided between this one + Trimlite and the new Sentinel Bar. Which one would you recommend?
+zournyque The lines are the same length when it's fully powered and is compatible with Slingshot and Liquid Force Kites. The Cabrinha bar is adjustable and their chicken loop is preferred over the Slingshot Sentinel, but both bars are pretty comparable. The Slingshot Sentinel has a sliding stopper for adjusting throw length, the biggest difference between the two bars is whether you'd prefer an adjustable bar or an adjustable throw. Hope this helps you decision making process. Let us know if you have any further questions.
+Kiteboarding.com Thank you for the fast response. I am not sure whether I should go for the adjustable version. Is it worth it in your opinion? Currently I fly my kites from 7 - 15m with the 20" Compstick and feel pretty comfortable with it. How much weight does it add? Is the system durable? Do you know the weight of the Sentinel/Trimlite/Trimlite + Adjustable systems?
+zournyque The advantage with the adjustable bar is that a longer bar will give more leverage, speeding up the turning. The adjustable bar does weigh more than a traditional bar. As far as durability goes, we also have a repair shop and haven't seen any problems with it. Our experience is that the adjustable bar is just as durable as a traditional bar. Outside of a little added weight, most riders find that having adjustability in the bar is advantageous giving you greater flexibility.
Thanks for the comment. Adjusting the trim strap or "depower" as it is commonly known will adjust position on the line where the kite will power and depower.

When you pull the trim strap in it does depower your kite, you are wrong
