Thank you so much! i knew that relationships between the units were important in hamel's business concept innovation. but this is the first time i'm hearing about the linkages in the value chain, loved the mobile phone firm example!
Thanks for the simply made video explanation. It really helped me in my exam revision for Strategic IT management. I hope you can make video to explain Leavitt's Diamond
Glad I could be a help. I'll look at Leavitt's Diamond. It's not a very 'mainstream' model though. I am preparing MABA (GE-Matrix) and VRIO at this moment...
Thank you for this video, you made it very simple and understandable. I also think your English is very good. Some comments are rude about the accent but it’s probably teenagers .. anyway thank you! :)
Dear Friends, I have a question: In the Value Chain Ananlysis, could you talk how the support activities create company margin?. Give me some examples. Thank you.
Yes. For instance. By sourcing better personel (HR), creating smarter products (R&D), buying other or cheaper quantaties for production (Procurement) etc.
My professor : I'll explain value chain for 1 month Me after 1 month :?????? Schoemaker : I'll explain in 9 mins Me after 9 mins : (writing this comment) 👍👍👍
Well. It's just a Macro analysis. Just analyse the part of the world or country where the company is active in and search for relevant opportunities and threats. So don't come with irrelevant factors like 'growing costs for households' whilst 'growing care for personal health' might be relevant. Find acadamic papers, journals, reports or newspapers where you can find this relevant and up to date info and substract the info. That's your analysis.
It's quite a hassle to analyze all the different items, easy to make mistakes, if you don't do it right it will be a 'fill in form' rather than a analyzing model, which perpective will you take? Forgetting the external linkages, could a endless way if you also analyze the chains of your partners, high chance of 'self fullfilling prophesy'
Hi Arthur. Precies hetzelfde.
Hi Pepijn! Thank you for your videos. I learn from you a lot. In support of your videos it will be great to learn how to use these frameworks. For example, www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newSTR_66.htm gives step by step guide. If you can add something to it - we would love to see it in your new videos. Thank you and good luck with educating people!
Hi Pepijn: Ik heb zaterdag mijn examen IT-strategie.

How do I do a pestel analysis of a glucose company?
Well. It's just a Macro analysis. Just analyse the part of the world or country where the company is active in and search for relevant opportunities and threats. What are the weakness in porters value chain?
It's quite a hassle to analyze all the different items, easy to make mistakes, if you don't do it right it will be a 'fill in form' rather than a analyzing model, which perpective will you take? Forgetting the external linkages, could a endless way if you also analyze the chains of your partners, high chance of 'self fullfilling prophesy'
wonderful
Thanks!
AWESOME
Awesome
How about integration?
Trying to learn Yes. That's a complex one... Than there will be one new value chain where the internal linkages need to be re-aligned
Pepijn Schoemaker I hoped that you would make a extension video about this :)
Trying to learn I understand. First some more strategic model video's. The VRIO matrix will follow soon I think.
Pepijn Schoemaker about horisontal and vertical integration; how am I supposed to draw Them?
bro's proper smart
Wish me a good luck with my upcoming exam, I HATE STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT 🥺💔💔💔
You can do it! Good luck! 🍀
Great
