Hi Soma, you were very succinct in explanation and was able to help me understand how to apply value chain analysis on a service business in 6 mins - there were tonnes of this analysis on manufacturing business out there, but none on service. Thank you for putting this video up.
I happened to read the Michael Porter's Value Chain Analysis because the new subject has been assigned to teach for our students.I have gained detailed knowledge by watching this video. Though there are many books on Value Chain Analysis but the videos are more clear to acquire the new knowledge and its process step by step. Thank you for your nice video. Regards Senapathy
Hi Soma! I believe your's is the only video (when one searches for "value chain analysis service industry"), that specially details with service Industry! Thanks so much for this video... Though for better outreach, please do try putting #value_chain_analysis_service_industry Hope it helps! Again, thank you so much for this example...
+John Masunda Hi, John. VCA benefits all businesses, in all industries, large or small. If a company can't define and articulate it's value how will it "sell" itself to their most important stakeholders. I'm going to assume (dangerous I know) that many of your small farmers do business B2B. In that case, it's important to map out each touchpoint in the chain and analyze what, and how much, value the farm provides at each point.
@@SomaxDatta I think you meant with large and small ,organisation type: simple or multidivision. If is a farmer than it is a simply division organization type, what you call in amateur term-small. For that kind of buss´niess is not needed value chain if you have learned those things chronological. The famer is the manager therefore he doesnt need administration and other posts. Does it make any sense? The line in secondary activityes is no needed.
+muaaz mohideen Finding VCA information on services in general is difficult as theory was developed for manufacturing first. What part of the software industry are you referring to in your comment?
Anh, when you re-watch the video, every time I say customer or consumer, think of the person you're selling to. Whether it's B2B or B2C, there is a person behind the sale. How do you increase value to them through your business activities?
***** Hi, Ralph. The firm's infrastructure are the processes and people that do the work for your company. Think about how finance, sales, and customer service all work.
Dear Friends, I have a question: In the Value Chain Ananlysis, could you talk how the support activities create company margin?. Give me some examples. Thank you.
