First off, her skin is radiant. Secondly, I needed to hear the truth in the body slowing down. A reality I'm seeing after being active all my life. Lastly, I am challenging myself to open up myself to new creative experiences. I've been inspirationally dormant/challenged and I need to set my spirit loose. Thank you for this series. In a culture that is so youth-centered, it is refreshing to see what life has to offer from experienced ageless beauties. :)

What can I say about this woman that hasn't been said already? I just shake my head......stunning beauty, grace, and vitality. I came across this person by researching her husband, who I always considered so "regal". And come to find out, the King spent almost six decades with his female equivalent. Truly amazing. Hollywood couldn't make their story up.

Had you met him, you would not have been disappointed.
I used to work in a NYC record store. I turned around, and there he was.
I'm just as tall as he, but, his presence was such, I was spellbound, in total awe. This was around late 1999. He used a cane by then, but, all of the elements that made him so magnificent were there...and I cannot, to this day, remember him speaking a single word. To anyone. I'm certain that he did. He was very humble.
That's a star.
That's a true artist.
His like will never again be seen.
Nowadays people throw around the word legend so loosely. Ms. Lavallande is a legend, rich living history. Still beautiful, elegant, and interesting. Thanks for sharing just a snapshot of her amazing life. She shared so many gems here.

At 90, all of her peers have passed on. All of her current friends are young enough to be her daughter's age! Spectacular!

Ah!! I had the privilege of seeing this amazing Person at Yale Rep so many years ago and yet her performances remain fresh in my memory. She played Puck in Midsummers Night Dream with Meryl Streep! Can you image? It was so amazing they closed one season with it and opened the next with the same play. I was so lucky to be there at that time.Cheers to you Ms. De Lavallade, and Thank you.
