2019 before the pandemic, I went to play with my band for the first time outside my country, we played at a festival in Canada, everything was so incredible that it seemed taken from a dream, the morning after the festival ended, I entered the bathroom in the hotel room, I filled the bathtub with hot water and went in to stretch my body, I put random music on my cell phone and this was the first song that started to play, a smile spread on my lips while I listened to it and in front of All the things I experienced at the festival happened to me...since then this song is a caress of tenderness and comfort for my heart...Long live for Nick 13!! ❤❤❤

Tiger Army is solid stuff. I'm also a huge country fan. This is amazing work from Nick 13. It's simple with an almost south western Americana vibe. Acoustic guitar, simple drum kit, stand-up bass, and pedal steel, can't go wrong. The originality is incredible. Definitely an old soul. Beats 90% of the country on the radio today.

After reading Roland Deschain comment just wanted to say that for me it was the total opposite. I used to listen to Tiger Army and punk/psycho bands many years ago, then I mostly moved to classic country and old stuff and that's basically all I've been listening to since then so finding this now was a big and sweet surprise. It's been a LONG time since new music got me so into it. As someone else said this album is better and more honest than the typical stuff done by country singers nowdays. Please keep doing music like this Nick!
You can’t really judge the entire genre of country based off a song or two. Nick is really good, talented as can be but he doesn’t define the country genre as a whole. There’s other guys out there that are just as good if not better. Aaron Lewis and The White Buffalo for example.
It is funny. Tiger Army always had one country song on each album and they were pretty much always better than any country songs coming out at the same time.
I appreciate your point of view, I wouldn't compare Nick 13 to Elvis, though. And yes, Elvis did many country songs traditional, as well as many standards. He's credited for inventing rockabilly, I only partly agree with that. I think the first Tiger Army record was great & Nick 13 hasn't been able to recapture the magic that made that album work. He's still very talented.
