Your next 8BS revamp has arrived with a game that still is seen as a underrated gem of the console, it's Metal Storm! Definitely one of the most perfect and solid platformers on the console and Tamtex's best output, a reasonably tough game with tight controls and a super cool flip gravity mechanic, and the graphics fit the very robotic and mech atmospheric, along with impressive paralax scrolling! Of course the music is just as praised as the rest of the game, every single tracks fits and works so well in the game, some being catchy, and most showing the intensity of the late game, with the Famicom version including two exclusive tracks for the Opening that was only present in that version. It's a shame this is the only game and composing credit that Toru Watanabe ever did, a shame because he probably would have been a great composer doing other games, but this is one case where this is his legacy, and at least it's on a stellar title. Ikuko Mimori is also a well known name for Irem, she was responsible for the Sound Effects on this game, but its also speculated she created the Sound Driver used on various other Tamtex developed games, while not confirmed, it is very possible due to her other sound designing credits. It is no doubt this game is loved, and well deserved, one of the most top notch releases on this console, and hope it continues to get its praise and recognition!

One of the best NES games ever made. I remember when this came out and I remember I bought it brand new along with Battletoads on the same day. This game will always hold a special place in my heart not only for its excellent gameplay and level design, but also its upbeat music tunes. IREM did a fantastic job on this one. This was also a game my mom really liked. I miss you mom ❤️

Got this one after reading about it in Nintendo Power as a kid. It was advanced for the time, particularly the character movements.

This game knew how to exploit its key feature, instant gravity reversal kicks butt.

1983's Major Havoc would be a great subject for an upcoming video.

Picked this gem up when it came out and still run through it now and then. Fantastic game! The unique reverse gravity play is so cool, and essential to master. Not too difficult a game, either.

Now we know where Disney got the idea from for Starkiller Base. Too much alike to be coincidence.

I must say I'm pretty much unimpressed by this ost, I i would consider it average at best, but in truth it sounds bland to me. Not trying to underrate Niko's work of course, I'd love to have a full revamped NES ost library.
But what can you do? After listening to a lot of osts by European composers, my perception has changed. Those will blow away almost anything composed elsewhere. The Smurfs, Tom & Jerry, T2 or anything by Neil Baldwin can easily wipe the floor with Megaman 2, I feel in many cases the success of an NES ost is directly derived from the quality of the parent game.
So once again thanks to this channel for the great experience. Sorry for the text wall. And maybe you wanna take some of what I have typed as a suggestion for next upload... 😉
