  • In his conquest of Europe Napoleon encounters and abolishes the Inquisition and its ongoing atrocities in France, Spain and northern Italy. But with Napoleon's fall from power the Inquisition returns with vengeance. Despite causing substantial public relations damage to the Catholic Church in the modern era it is not substantially curtained until the Church is conquered by the newly unified nation of Italy.

If there is one thing the Holy Roman Catholic Church did well, it was recording keeping.
My relatives who were forced to convert in the 18 th century to Catholicism, their decendants were killed in the Nazi concentration camps. The Nazi' s were privy to the conversi records.

Look at the history and the plight of the palestinians and the suppression, Starvation beatings, murder, rape at the hands of Israel for decades! The US has supplied bombs daily to kill Thousands of palestinians,13,000 children from bombs and still dying of starvation. That's evil pure evil. They're sending billions of dollars for weapons, artillery tanks planes, bombs to keep the war going in Ukrainian. Another country they overthrew and put their puppet Zelensky in power! They have blood on their hands from hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian deaths. What about the treatment of Haitians brought over from Africa as slaves by the French and the treatment and the coup from United States, Hillary Clinton, UK and Canada. evil doers.
Or how about the over 2 million innocent civilians that America killed in Vietnam. Hundreds of thousands of men women and children died at the hands of US atomic bombs on Japan. Causing sickness for decades. Evil evil doers!
Today the US has over 800 military bases outside of America. They're stirring up trouble wherever they go killing innocent civilians. Now Open your eyes and see the real evil evil doers!

LOL This is neither real, true, nor exactly history. Napoleon did not end the legal system of inquiry and inquest in Spain, aka the Inquisition; it was officially suspended by Spain because the British (rightly) feared the officers of the Inquisition might react badly to the British invasion of Spain - and, moreover, the Free Masonic revolutionary lodges were closely aligned to the English and Scotish (and French) lodges. The French revolutionary regime (under Napoleaon) did suppress the operation of the Inquisition (into clerical immorality, extortionate interest on loans, fake marriages, etc), replacing it with a secular version of the same system btw (pursuing state enemies, counter-revolutionary sentiment, priestcraft, charitable institutions .. nuns, monks, etc); it was this that deeply troubled the ordinary, law-abiding, Spaniard (as a similar hostile move was rebelled against the Austrians in the Netherlands, under the 'enlightened despotism' of the Emperor Joseph).
Church courts in Spain - as in Britain - continued to function into the twentieth century .. and, as before, not a few malefactors would 'sin' in order to escape the interminable horrors of the secular justice system; a fine or three Hail Mary's was the most frequent penalty imposed by the Church courts (while the Crown courts frequently imposed penal incarceration .. e.g. Magdelene Laundries, yes, these were secular, government funded, charities - i.e. run on the cheap - or Borstal Schooling or the Poor House or the Lunatic Ward .. and even penal servitude = the loss of all liberty, control, access or purpose, or a merciful alternative, exile to a penal colony). The Spanish Inquisition was feared, and with good reason, because .. it was so thorough - indeed rather too inquisitive - not because of its threat to use of the Third Degree level of legal questioning (duress, coercion, isolation, thumb-screws or waterboarding - of recent usage).
Baptising a child is not a crime, even today, yet it may now be considered a Hate Crime in some places .. if the parents feel offended; it was an officious action, and this could have serious consequences .. nurses in emergency rooms would, were necessary, Baptise a prematurely born child, in danger of death, that nurse would now most likely face severe disciplinary actions; who, then, was to decide if the infant was indeed validly and licitly baptised .. a magistrate or a bishop ..?
    ;o)
