I was already aware of the tick rate for COD being 20hz, but when I did find out I was genuinely surprised. Even BF4 had 30hz servers at launch on console, and that got updated to 60hz later on if I remember correctly.
How COD is still running on 20hz servers is a mystery. 20hz servers for a competitive FPS game is a joke.
on the other hand there would be "no" hitscan range with 128hz servers

bruh there's 50-120 players in the game that is a shit ton of gun fight and A LOT of things to process
This isn't exactly news but yeah, you can clearly tell this game has terribly low tick rate, especially when dropping down from the plane & shots not registering. I think the core issue is that the old cod engine simply can't handle the higher player count on these large maps.

Under Gameplay settings change Automatic Sprint Setting to "Automatic Sprint". "Automatic Tactical Sprint" settings is glitched, but "Automatic Sprint" is not... You will have zero reload issues when you change that setting.

They already put out a tweet saying that it’s a bigger issue that won’t be able to be fixed until next weeks big update (hopefully!) So we have to suffer until then.

It’s honestly not even a problem since you can still run and reload. Just not tac sprint. Now if you couldn’t run at all then yes it would be a big problem. Just play around it. It’s not hard

I think it makes the spiritfire more appealing then the zehm or casus for long range. We have to remember that in the firing range the dummy arent moving. The lack of Visual recoil might not be worth the penality in bv.
when Biffle did his first vid with the SVA, I've been calling it. That gun hits & is easy to use for most ppl. + single fire mode, and you'll be wrecking people. Nice video JGod

I put on high grain rounds with the dg lmg prior to watching this video, and i can confirm the gun registers much better compared to other guns

The LSW conversion kit looks to be very similar to the Striker9 close range. So could be another top tier option for short range fights. Just not as busted as it was after the update

@@JGOD are u saying this is how it's always been? B/c something ain't right with shooting in this game (bsides b.velcty). U add gun sway & all the other crap you & TGD been talkin about & it makes sense that this is newer.
Its a limitation of the tick rate, the Tick rate is 20 times per second, which equates to 50ms of travel. Game has to assume the information and does so as hitscan since it cant magically fill in the gaps. If the tick rate was double, the hitscan distance would cut in half and become shorter with better tick rates. Its just a limitation of the game systems. Since tick rates havent improved its always been this way as long has projectiles have been a thing.

I thought this was happening intuitively, because most engagements are at like 30-50m, and that's where the meta guns first range normally is and they have close to 900m/s
That would mean that the perceived TTK of a lot of weapons could actually vary...based on the fact that now bullet velocity has to be considered in the calculations...the math may say that the slower fire rate, low velo lmg can down faster that the high fire rate, high velo AR...but in actuality the fact that the bullets register instantaneously on that "marshmallow" shooter at a longer range means that it would have an in game ttk faster than the heavy hitting lmg...Very informative, changes the way the long range meta is perceived

I mean if bullet as a higher bullet velocity then that means that bullet is traveling faster. Doesn't change the rate of fire, but it does alter how soon it will hit its target. More damage plus high bullet velocity equals a really nice TTK granted your ADS is decent. A good way to see the difference in bullet velocity is to head to your firing range with the crossbow and play around with its bullet velocity. You'll see the difference in the time it takes for the arrow to hit your target.

If you need clarification you can ask for it. I’ll hold my disrespect for the simple fact I don’t know if you may have a hard time reading context due to an impairment of some sort. So let me break it down in case terminology is what you are having a hard time with.
Bullet Velocity - The speed of a projectile
TTK - Time To Kill
ADS - Aim Down Sight (speed)
Rate of Fire - The speed at which you can consecutively fire projectile after projectile out of your firearm.
I’ll even throw in another nugget for you. Adjusting your bullet velocity can help with input lag issues.
Yea that’s true bro. I’ve been noticed it on the bow. The velocity matters, and it will hit faster and better. Crazy how it’s been infront of our eyes this whole time and we just realizing it. Atleast me and the whole cod community it seems like. Time to make some new high velocity classes
JGOD why is no one talking about smg’s as AR’s. Both the stricker and rival-9w/conversion kit can get up to around 800 BV and have the same ttk as the soa subverter which is the best long range ttk while being very controllable compared to the SOA

Tried this, it absolutely works. Except the fact the servers are laggy AF right now. Season 3 Reloaded broke so much.
It changes the conversation on meta and shot placement cuz hitscan imaginary line where you would want a gun with more velocity to make sure you hitting rather than guessing bullet trajectory especially long range options. Another example why WZ1 was just way better 😅

Definitely go with wudi long barrel and high grain ammo on the dg58 it lasers from across the map
You have to think about how the relativity is important with regards to bullet velocity in close range;
The MCW conversion for example... Has a suppressed barrel that nerfs the damage range and massively nerfs the bullet velocity, whilst buffing the movement significantly. This is IMO a meta smg. Because at 15 metres, your bullets are still travelling about 300ms , which at such short ramge is plenty!! You cant outrun those bullets when your so close!!

@@microwavegommmm916 not the meta since its not easy to get good with, but if u like it and invest some time to get a feel for the gun and its fire rate, I'd say pretty competitive. I can give u my build, it feels very smooth with a secret attachment I use.

When viewing TGD video the accuracy appears to be hitscan, but the bullet impact time and image registration still appeared correct for bullet velocity. Can you confirm this?

Basically this is why I get killed while running behind cover all the time. 20 tic rate leading to hit scan, doesn’t matter where I really am on my screen
Saw a video on this, watched it like 8 times still dont know whats going on, when i hear numbers my brain just goes blah blah blah
Its all about how fast the severs update game information. Anything that happens between the time the game servers update is considered "instant." If the bullets travel a greater distance to the target in the amount of time it takes for the server to update the game, the gun is considered "hitscan" and you dont have to lead your target at all.
layman terms: higher BV = easier to track moving targets at further distances.

From a decision-making perspective, I wonder how “truly” impactful these considerations are on the short range meta. Specifically, and I’m curious for you to test it out and show it visually, how much would you need to lead within say 25m with the worst bullet velocity? Then compare that lead distance in screen to the hit scan.
- assume opponent runs right at constant speed (sprinting/not sprinting)
- show how much lead is required to hit target
- do this at different key ranges
This, I think would really show how impactful this consideration is at different kinds of combat engagement
My gut feeling, as I haven’t done the math, is that the sub 20m really doesn’t matter. At that distance I’d suspect shaky aim etc would overshadow (for most players)
Also, this “hit scan” mechanism is must be step-wise. That is, there is the immediate hit scan distance, then using the same distance you only need to lead the same amount, and so on. I’d be really curious to see this play out at long distances as well (snipers!)

To simplify, for most situations it wont matter, but for a few it can be taken into consideration. Just like I would referent 900m/s BV in long range meta videos, this was solving for this without knowing.

That's why I've been building all of my guns for Max bullet velocity. I didn't know the math behind it, but i realized a long time ago that i would win more gun fights and hit more shots with the highest bullet velocity. Even on mp it pretty much turns every gun into hit scan. It's absolutely brutal in hard core because I can pretty much quick scope with every gun. I hardly ever aim at anyone, just make sure my cross hairs are head level, then pull my ads trigger and fire at the same time. 99% of the time I will get an instant kill because aim assist and hit scan does all the work. When MWII first came out, this was the most abused mechanic ever because you could spam the ADS trigger while just holding your fire button and any gun, even LMG's would Auto head shot everyone. Eventually they fixed it and added an animation that doesn't allow you to aim quickly while continuously firing. But before this it was absolutely broken.

That's more realistic than you think. Do some research on 30-06 trajectory with a 50 yard zero.
It wasn't decided based on real life, it's based on the tick rate, so real is irrelevant.
