We've been to all the main Canary Islands, they have their own flavours, that's the beauty of them. I'm not an optimist by nature but at my most optimistic on holidays, it takes a lot to make me say, never again. I've not been back to Gran Canaria for about a decade but keep meaning to go back as it was lovely in Playa del Ingles.
Just back from our first visit to Playa del ingles. Spent most of our nights in the Yumbo centre, really liked the place. Lots of differents places to eat and great variety of bars.Great video by the way.
Mr.McNally, love this video, I always judge a resort I've not been to by how good the nightlife is, GC looks good to me. And now to the daily nonsense, a lady goes in to a shop and says " can I have a big mac fries and a coke ", the woman behind the counter says " madam this is a library ", she says " oh sorry, and whispers " can I have a big mac .................. Take care kid and keep up the good work.
I always go here every august 🎉 happy new year - started going here 15 years ago, was packed and rammed / since prices change not so busy any more - all Inclusive killed the bars and restaurants trade . Still love this island xxx
great video kev my son had his 1st tattoo done in that tattooist shop a few years ago.brings back alot of memories from our jolly boys holidays keep up the good work
Bumped into the guys that work the drag bar Paladium in Benidorm a couple of times in the Yumbo the other night. Obviously over there on a holiday. Saw the show in Benidorm last year this time. You may also know them from the Benidorm "Brits in the sun" TV show on Ch 5
Fair play wee buddie , looks like the yumbo centre has got alot bigger since I was there .Cafe la belle was the main attractions back in the day with the drag show but was very funny .have they made it more family friendly now as wouldn't of brought my kids there when they were young .. Be careful of the nudist beach Kevin 😀😀 we did a walk from PDI to maspalomas along the beach and got a shock to see alot of people hanging around so stay to the promenade 😀😀😀 enjoy buddies 👍👍🍺🍺
Hi Kev.I.N, yuppers the Yumbo is a mix of everything to everyone. A first visit can be so confusing, where to go first etc. The Nordic/Skandy corner is always busy as many find it cheaper to spend the winter there than in their homelands. It was a bonus when the lifts were installed saved all those stairs!!!!. There is another CC the Sandia CC not far away. It's mostly Austrian/German and Skandia nationalities lots bars serve Veltins beer that slips down so easily, it has a few 'adult swingers' bars/clubs too! Oh the stories I could tell about life in PDI😇😎🙄 Cheers DougT
Maspalomas/Playa del Inglés by far. You can walk for miles. It’s also very clean, both the water and the beaches. But I’m not into small, sitting only beaches.
I’ll guarantee someone will be wearing a Spartacus leather outfit or similar later on ,some great drag shows in the Yumbo and nice restaurants it’s not changed since I went 30yrs ago
Good price of drinks, I thought Gran Canaria is more expensive than Tenerife. Well, looks similar price. Yumbo has a lot of cruises, boys have fun there 😉😝
Been in Buddies bar a couple of nights, Saturday and Monday. Not been busy but at least you get a seat, Cheyenne's next door have been dragging folk in.
Hi Craig. Enjoying your GC vids. Playa Del Ingles, Maspalomas and P.Rico have had their day but there is one great bar down at the beach: Tipsy Hammock. We spent every day there. Mogan and Meloneras get all the investment in GC but Tipsy Hammock was the highlight of our trip 👍
@@ScotsmaninTenerife there are/were (COVID permitting) a group of tumblers, acrobats doing a routine in front of busy bars and passing the collecting tins around the drinkers. Cheers DougT
Not for me I’m afraid, too much concrete and no views. Give me a bar by a beach or harbour any time. I like to watch all these videos of different places though Kevin, they help me decide where I’d like to go in the future and where I wouldn’t want to go. Another Buddies bar…. Who’d have thought it? 😁🍺
@@douglasthompson296 Hi Doug, glad to hear it, I’d hate to be stuck inside a shopping centre every night of my holiday. I’m surprised by how many bars there seem to be around though.
@@linzbarber hi Linz, yuppers the Yumbo is basically a hole in the ground with a 3/4 storey shopping centre built in it. The ground floor is the major bar/club area, admittedly gay/queer focused, the upper floors are shopping, all the way from fake knock offs to genuine designer brands. It is what it is! Some fabulous pastry/cake and coffee shops too, Cafe de Paris being one. The whole of Playa del Ingles was purpose built for tourism, nothing old/original was there, but it's very welcoming in UK winters, like Tenerife is. Now go up the island to Las Palma's and it's a different world. The port, cruise liners docking, proper shopping and the city beaches. Like most of the Canaries is a tax/reduced tax haven, hence the real designer shopping in the stores etc. I love the Canaries for winter sun, only 4 hrs flying time, minimum language problems as English/German is the second tounge there in the tourist areas. I don't want to bore you, but ask away if you need any more info. Cheers DougT in Mancs
Not sure about the shopping centre bit with bars etc.Nothing nicer than walking along wee back streets and finding “hidden gems”Seems too organised rather than organic
I don't know if you mean to be funny but you are, lol. Ive never looked at so many shops in tbe last few days, lol. Cocktail bar..what do you think it's called..spartucus of course, lol. Walking along the gay bars..I've walked the wrong way but continue..drinks for 2 euro,il be back, lol.
Thanks for Watching ! buddies bar used to be run by 2 guys from Paisley having a pint now ! Buy a beer at www.buymeacoffee.com/scotsman
Your commentary is brilliant Gran Canaria is the best by far of the Canaries and love everything about Gran Canaria
Thanks
I was in Gran Canaria in November 2022. Had a great holiday. Yumbo tends not to get busy until about 10pm.

You should do a video on the EuroNet cash machines, they are everywhere. And charge for usage.
Love the vids mate. This one took me back 20+ years ago. It still dont look any better. Always said it was the worse place I'd ever been on holiday.
Thanks

Hi Kevin....
Can you suggest an area or bar for a more mature crowd? I prefer having dinner/drink/meeting with people 60+. Thanks

Hi Kevin in Yumbo or jumbo centre as I call it. A small bar called Kelly’s karaoke is great. She is a lovely girl and runs a nice little bar
It’s Yumbo not Jumbo.

You did well to avoid their dodgy shops! 😮 I don't like eating in the shopping centres, we'd rather eat outside on beach front if possible 🍻
